[attr="class","skullbody"]The shinobi would sheath his blade once the candles plummeted to the floor following Celes's Blizzara. Now that the fire slinging threats were gone all that was left was make their way out this room. Celes's attempt to pry the table from the doorframe did not yield fruit. "I don’t suppose you have something that could make a path? It’s too thick to cut with my sword," she says. [break][break] Mu pondered what the best course of would be in getting rid of the table. The simplest solution would be the just incinerate it to ashes using Katon. However, Katon is no small flame. It would surely spread across the house, and he wasn't confident that he could put it out swiftly enough with Suiton. It was not a risk he was willing to take, not with the knowledge that there are others deeper into the house. Ninjutsu would not be the ideal move here, but what of Iaijutsu? [break][break] Mu would walk up the table and move his hand across the table to examine it. It is as thick of a table as Celes says but given the condition of everything else in this house also a worn table. Unless the ghosts have somehow reinforced the furniture, destroying this table should not be so monumental a task. [break][break] "You're right this table is a bit too thick to cut with our blades. Well, that is to say a normal cut wouldn't do the job. However..." [break][break] The shinobi takes a stance and grasps the hilt of his blade, gathering aether into it. As energy pours into the blade, the floor beneath the shinobi becomes coated in ice-like energy and the blade begins to glow. Utilizing the technique Midare Setsugekka, the shinobi unsheathes the sword and swings threefold at the table. Three arcs of energy slice through the table leaving flower petals in the air as the energy of the arcs and on the floor dissipate. [break][break] "Woo! One table down!" Enma shouts. [break][break] The segmented parts of what was once a table drop to the ground leaving the entrance to the next room. The shinobi would sheath his blade once more. [break][break] "Let us not delay in entering the next room, lest more furniture starts blocking the path." the shinobi says.

[attr="class","skullbody"]Mu couldn't help but agree that actual ghosts were the probable cause of this situation. "Ghosts or not, the thought that furniture would be enough of a deterrent for us is nothing short of fatuous." [break][break] "Do you have any ideas?" Celes asks Mu. The Dragonblade's focus was on the candles, so Mu went off the assumption that she had some way of dealing with the burning cylinders of wax. Meanwhile these candles try to cut their discussion of strategy short as they cast Fira on them both. [break][break] "Enma check the room in case there is anything else that would do us harm." the shinobi commands. [break][break] "Looks like we have a case of... peeling wall, dusty webs, and a crappy floorboard. So pretty much everything you already knew. Given that all the furniture is piled up in the doorway, we shouldn't be attacked by anything else in here. We're good to go boss."
[break][break] As the flame approaches the shinobi, he uses Huraijin, which engulfs his blade with wind aether. With a slash, the spell is extinguished with a burst of wind. [break][break] "The candles seems to be the only thing actively attacking us. I'd say we deal with them first and then the furniture blocking our way to the next room. I'll impede the candles and give you to opportunity to strike." [break][break] Regardless of whether their opponent was a ghost, what was clear that spells were the attack of choice of them. The shinobi had a handy tool in his arsenal to deal with just that: Ill Wind. [break][break] Mu rushes underneath the candles in midst of conjuring another spell. The ninja swiftly drops to his back and proceeding to spin on his torso in a circular motion whilst twirling his legs. This motion conjures dark winds that inflict Silence on the candles upon contact.

[attr="class","skullbody"]It was clear the teen did not appreciate getting his nose broken, but that was a given. Celes would reiterate Mu's question. "Do you know why no one has been coming out of this house?” [break][break] "What are you talking about?!" the boy shouts. "That sounds ridiculous." Mu raises an eyebrow. "So, you don't know?" he asks. [break][break] "Know what? There is nothing going on here! This is a haunted house, we don't trap people here," the boy says. Enma floats over near the boy. "Come on kid.. Surely somebody here has gotta know something," the oni says. "N-no," the teen says nervously. It's obvious that he is frightened of Enma. "If anyone here is trapping anyone it would be you!" The boy suddenly bolts his way to the next room. The ninja does nothing to try to stop him. [break][break] "Did you think I scared him?" Enma asks. "No Enma. I sure that he was so elated that he could contain himself," Keimusho says as he turns to Celes. "It seems that exchange was going nowhere. Perhaps we will find answers from someone in the next room." So long as they don't break their nose that is. As the ninja says this the furniture moves to block their path. The candles on the wall levitate above them. [break][break] "What is going on here?!" Enma says. The flames on the candles begin to glow brighter and grow larger. It's clear that the candles are somehow going to do something. It's as if the wicks are casting a spell. "Seems like the furniture doesn't want us to leave." Mu says as he places his hand on his kodachi. [break][break]

[attr="class","skullbody"]Celes wished to know if Mu was close to Enma. "Enma has never left my side since we first came into acquaintance with one another," he says. Not that it was possible for the Anima to do so anyway, unless the shinobi left his sword elsewhere. Though that would not be in Enma's control either. At times Mu wondered why the oni was fine with such an arrangement. Perhaps that is just in the nature of the Anima weapons to want to be at the side of whoever they were created for. Not that he knew any other Anima weapons to compare Enma to. "I'd say that me and Enma are pretty close," he admits. [break][break] It was already clear to the shinobi that Celes was not particularly fond of this situation, with this supposedly haunted house and Enma's presence on top of it. But the nail in that coffin would soon come. As the floorboard's creaked it was clear that something was coming for them. Whatever it was it wasn't doing a great job of concealing its steps. The Dragonblade also noticed this as she greeted it with a punch to its nose or rather his nose. It definitely was no ghost or anything of the sort. It was a teenage boy. Honestly Mu felt a little bad for the kid. Just a little. His remorse was dampened due to the looming issue of people not emerging from the house. [break][break] The shinobi turned to the teen and sighed. "So, do you know why no one has been coming out this house?" The boy looked up only to see Enma floating above his shoulder. The teen's eyes widened at the sight of the oni, yet despite this he tried his best to mutter a response. Unfortunately, it was all unintelligible. Celes really did a number on him. The shinobi turns to Celes. "Do you happen to know any spells that can heal him? Perhaps he has some answers about what's going on in this house?"

[attr="class","skullbody"]The woman would confirm that she was indeed the Dragonblades's Celes Chere and as Mu introduced himself, it was clear that she recognized his name as well. "Mu…That wouldn’t be the same Mu that fought the Kraken, would it?” she asks. [break][break] "It is indeed," the shinobi responds. "I'm sure Caius told you how hectic that battle was. It's a mystery as to how we haven't made each other's acquaintance sooner." [break][break] Enma sudden appearance understandably caused Celes to be perplexed as she blurts out, "What is that?" Even after introducing him, Enma is probably the least normal thing in the room. The Dragonblade would say she's fine with the oni's presence, but that she still found him to be strange. "That's understandable," Mu responds. "I still question what exactly Enma is to this day." "That's quite a fair assessment to make boss," Enma responds as he begins to flex his aetherial muscles. "It's hard for everyone to understand a marvel of this world like me." "Try to ignore his boasting. He seems full of himself, but he means well," Mu says. [break][break] Celes would inform the shinobi that she and Caius were here on Dragonblade's business. "I see. I wish I could say the same. Admittedly Enma was the one who pestered me to bring me here." Mu says. "And now you get to explore a haunted house! Isn't this exciting boss?" Enma shouts. [break][break] Ignoring the oni, the shinobi would move onward with the Dragonblade's general. A simple glimpse into the next room would reveal that there were webs in the corners. The furniture was worn, but that wasn't the oddest thing about it. The chairs and the tables rocked from side to side, so much so that the legs of the furniture were practically stomping the floor. Was this a sign that this place really haunted or was this just some type of magic being cast on the furniture?

[attr="class","skullbody"]The woman's response indicated that she perhaps was familiar with Doma after all. She then introduced herself as Celes. Mu would analyze her closely. He has heard that name before from when he first met Caius. She certainly fits the description that Caius gave to him. [break][break] "Celes... You wouldn't happen to be Celes Chere of the Dragonblades would you?" the shinobi responds. If that was the case did that mean that one of the leaders of the Dragonblades was potentially from the same world as Mu was? And if so where? Othard and Hingashi were highly unlikely given her manner of dress and lack of Far Eastern gestures. Garlemald also was unlikely given that she clearly was not a Garlean. So that only left Eorzea. [break][break] The time of speculation would halt as the worker would signal them to go inside. "Well. I suppose we ought to give it a try," Celes says. "Indeed," Mu responds. "I'm sure that it can't be any worse than the Headstone Forest." [break][break] With that said, Mu steps into the building unsure of what to expect of a haunted house. "Alright, Enma you may now show yourself," Mu says. [break][break] "Wow boss it's so dark in here!" The floating oni says as takes form once again. The screams of the other guests were evident. "I don't think the people here like it very much in the dark." [break][break] The shinobi nods, "Indeed. Perhaps it is an indication of what you signed up for." [break][break] "Ooooo. How ominous. But I'm a big boy, I can handle it!" Enma shouts. [break][break] The ninja looks over at Celes. "I hope you don't mind the sudden appearance of my friend here. This is my companion Enma."

[attr="class","skullbody"] "I don’t really know what to expect,” the woman said. "I do not either. Hopefully it is not literally haunted by spirits as they may claim," the shinobi responds. He has had enough of a fill of spirits from his one instance in Headstone Forest. [break][break] ”I’m sorry. Are you an esper? It’s just…you look like someone I know.” the woman says. "An... esper? I'm afraid not. I am actually unfamiliar with the term," the shinobi responds. It wouldn't be the first time that someone would question what he was if they were observant enough to tell that his horns and tail weren't apart of his armor. It wasn't too surprising, given that he did not encounter any other Au Ra in this world. It was clear that Au Ra simply didn't exist here and apparently don't in many of the other Outlander worlds. Though was struck him was the comment that he bears a similarity to someone she knew. "Would this person in question be from a land called Doma by chance?" He doubted it, given that many people from his world would recognize the Hingan character for Doma or at least recognize that the symbol was from the far east. However, if there were any other Domans in the world, he just had to know. [break][break] "Questions aside, shall we exchange names before we enter this supposedly haunted place? I go by the name Mu."

[attr="class","skullbody"]The Harvest Festival. An event filled with music, carnival games, and pastries. Why would the uber serious and work-oriented shinobi Mu come here on such short notice. Surely there was a task or two for the ninja here. No. The answer was one floating oni. Once again, Mu's anima companion managed to pester the Au Ra to attend a jovial event. However, Mu did not come dressed for the occasion. He dressed as he always did in the public eye: in his armor. Despite this, perhaps this was a good thing for the ninja. Ever since his training as a shinobi, Keimusho had a solemn demeanor about him. Even his clanmates often had to prompt him to unwind. A game of Doman Mahjong typically did the trick. Now Enma's had to fulfil that role. [break][break] "What is it that you intend us to do here Enma? the shinobi asks. Mu has no knowledge on what this festival would entail. He never heard of a "Harvest Festival". Doma certainly does not have any traditions quite like this. And if Keimusho didn't have a clue where to go then Enma certainly would not either. [break][break] "Don't think too hard on it boss," Enma responds. "Let's just go where the wind takes us." Soon the battered building would come into view. "Ooo. Ooo. Let's go over there!" Enma exclaims. [break][break] Mu eyes the building for a moment. Pairs of individuals are going in and no one is emerging. One individual awaited at the back of the line, seemingly waiting for a second person to show. "Enma disappear until we get until the building," Mu commands. Paying for two tickets would not have been ideal. [break][break] "No problem boss," Enma says as the oni vanished from sight. [break][break] The ninja approaches and bows to the teens present. "Greetings." [break][break] "Oh- hello," One teen responds. "This is the haunted house. We've been selling tickets all morning, but no one has left yet. You'll have to buy a ticket if you want to get in." [break][break] "Not a problem," the shinobi says, handing over the gil. [break][break] The shinobi then approaches the woman who remains in line, giving a bow. "It seems you have been in this line a while. Shall we enter together?"

[attr="class","skullbody"]As he was occupied with tasks such as slaying a Kraken and going to the tower of the World Sight, the ninja did not spend much time checking on Aldrich, the old man who Mu saved from a particularly infuriated mage just one year ago. The elder continues to suffer from amnesia, remembering little more than his name. Initially, even that wasn't the case. He was only granted that privilege by a ghost in the illusion-ridden Headstone Forest. He never gained a semblance of his memory back since then. The ninja contemplated taking the old man back there at times, but only as a last resort. The illusions of that place are dangerous. They potentially can make it difficult to differentiate friend from foe. That has led to the Au Ra losing a horn the last time he was there. Fortunately, the horns of an Au Ra grow back. However, a wrong move could easily cost a life instead. Due to this risk, it was in their best interest to consider alternate solutions. [break][break] Since the ghost from Headstone Forest was somehow able to restore the old man's memory, Mu speculated that it was possible that the cause of the amnesia could be fixed by arcane means. For this reason the shinobi would decide to bring Aldrich to The University of Magi. Perhaps there were books in the universities library that could help with this situation. If not, then surely there were instructors he could gain an audience with. [break][break] At the barrier of the university entrance the shinobi stood in line the man at the booth initially looked with suspicion at the shinobi due to how he was dressed. "You look sketchy. What's your business her- Wait I recognize you from the Monthly Mog. You were crowned one of the Champions from last year's festival of the hunt. Mu was it? So what you're business here?" "I'm here with my friend here to take a look at the university's library."

[attr="class","skullbody"]Solus taunts Caius by referring to the blond haired women in the Dragonblades as a "collection" and draws a correlation between Lady Hilda and this hypothetical collection. Caius responds, "If I do have a "collection", perhaps my "type" is not the blonde-haired beauty with brimming blues, but the magic man of mystery. Since you appear so interested in my love life, Your Highness, are you requesting to be part of my "collection" as well?" This mention of such a "collection" confuses a certain floating oni. The clearly confused Enma responds to the two's exchange with, "Wait you collect people?! Isn't that... illegal?" Mu simply shook his head in response.
[break][break] Lady Hilda who mostly kept out of the argument that they exchanged did not take Solus's comment laying down as she would tell him to never associate her a so called ‘collection’. Hilda would then suggest that they move forward without any further argument. Enma one once again responds to the "collection" comment. "I don't blame you for being mad. I don't think anyone wants to be forced to be part of a collection." "Enma no one is collecting anyone," Mu responds."That aside, I agree that we should be getting a move on."
