“Dreaming about me? That is odd as I swear that I have had a similar dream once or twice but I do not really pay much mind to my dreams due to someones influence usually changing my dreams into nightmares.” Speaking softly as she watched him move around. The crystal flare would cause her Echo to flare and she would place a hand onto her head. The pounding headache that shot into her head was something she had grown accustomed to but not something she particularly liked.
The flash within her mind began to show her something that she was certainly not there for. She saw a few people and a pirate ship. Standing there like a ghost she saw a large sea dragon seemingly dying before her very eyes. She saw Faris standing there tears rolling down his face as she saw three others approach them and Faris have a violent outburst toward them. The pain pushed into her own mind and she had to close her own eyes yet the crystal did not let her leave. Instead she felt the scene begin to flicker and vanish and once more she was within that ephemeral realm that the woman known as Cosmos was standing and yet she was there from a different perspective. She could see herself standing there the light cascading off of the sharpened black spike of her old armor.
Thankfully within her mind it went and vanished rather quickly. Yet the vision hung within her mind as she looked over at Faris. She was about to say something and move when she saw Faris stand up and attempt to move away. The table thankfully catching him as he staggered a little. Eillien was on her feet standing beside him as he held himself against the table. “You are not taking up my time. Now sit down and relax… and do not worry about it. You are a comrade in the Crystal… Even if we are not from the same place.” She hoped the words would help ease whatever it was that had taken ahold of Faris’ mind.
“Faris you look like you could use this more than I can right now. Use it and get some rest alright?” Her concern would be rather plain to see as she offered her shoulder to assist Faris in walking as it seemed that he was already quite out of sorts already. Within her mind she knew she was going to guide Faris up to the room she had rented. Getting him to the door she would open the door as best she could and then guide Faris inside and to the bed inside. “Faris… I understand better than you can imagine… My crystals gave me a gift quite different than yours. Mine allows me to… see memories and experience the events first hand… It is a burden and a gift at the same time. Now just relax and do not worry anymore.”
Eillien would move and take a seat on the ground at the foot of the bed. Resting her head against it as she had locked up the small room.

You've got a lot of brass, or mayhap you're just lacking in brains!
[attr="class","itsover"] Eillien called him back. Maybe Faris knew that she would. Maybe that's why he wasn't surprised.
"You're not taking up my time," she said and, "You're a comrade in the crystal." His mind swam at that. His last comrade's in the crystal hadn't been anything like this. Just an idiot, a little girl, and his sister. His heart ached for them.
“Faris, you look like you could use this more than I can right now. Use it and get some rest alright?”
Faris didn't ask what "this" was. He didn't ask what he was supposed to be using because the words rang hollow and he didn't think he could be bothered. When Eillien touched his arm and guided him away from the door, he didn't care to stop her. Where else did he have to go? It was a snowstorm outside, and he didn't have any plans that didn't involve sulking.
'This is a bad idea,' he thought as she led him up the stairs and into the warmth of a rented room. 'This is a bad idea,' he thought again as she steered him to the bed and he fell back numbly. But the blankets were warm, the pillows soft, and the sheets smelled like cinnamon.
'I'm a mess of bad ideas, what's one more?'
"Faris." Eillien had knelt beside him. She leaned against the bedframe and considered the ceiling. "I understand better than you can imagine. My crystals gave me a gift quite different than yours. Mine allows me to… see memories and experience the events first hand."
The words came to Faris as though slogging through tar. She could understand him. The crystals gave her a gift. She could...see memories?
Faris sat straight up, eyes wide. "Wait, you're reading my mind?!" He stared at her like some new breed of monster or an open Rift in the floor. That was one of the craziest thing he'd ever heard, but who was he to judge crazy? He'd seen comets that traveled through space, trees made of soul sludge, and rifts to the void. Mind-reading wasn't exactly off the table.
"Now just relax and don't worry anymore," she'd said, but that wasn't something Faris could do when his mind was compromised. His cheeks burned with the sudden twist of his stomach. 'What had she seen?'
"Ah, no. Think I'll be going. Shouldn't stay. You know." Faris launched himself from the bed only to immediately lose balance and topple right back over. He groaned as his head hit the sheets.
'This is a bad idea.'
"Why do I always mess up?" The ceiling wasn't spinning, but it wasn't still either. It swam in front of him like the waves of the sea. What he wouldn't give for a stable ship.
"I lost the monk and Chaos and that white knight," he said, "I can't find my friends or my crew or home." His heart wrenched at that word. He didn't know what it meant. The sea? His friends? Tycoon? He would have sailed the world around for any of them.
"What'm I supposed to do?" His cheek fell against the bedsheets. He closed his eyes. "The crystals won't tell me anything."
“Not because I wanted to but because the Echo has decided to give me the insight. I cannot control what it shows me or why it shows me what it does… It is not my choice what I see…” She spoke softly as the words asking her about seeing his memories hit her. The response was genuine as Eillien really had little to no control over it. Bringing a hand up she rubbed her forehead lightly as if she was attempting to steady herself on a trip on the ocean.
As Faris would stand Eillien would move to steady him as she noticed him lose his balance. Reaching over to him she managed to catch him just enough to not allow him to hit his head hard against the bed as he flopped down against it. “Faris just relax and try to get some sleep. Plus I am more than willing to stay here to help you so long as you want me to stay…” Her words were kind and calm as she was attempting to comfort him. Reaching to lightly touch his arm once more this time in a reassuring gesture.
Listening to Faris speak softly Eillien just listened her hand lightly patting his arm gently. The pain on his voice was palpable to her as she sat there looking at Faris. “I do not know what you are supposed to do Faris. I will not attempt to know what you have been through as I have only seen one memory and I have not walked the path you have. I can only tell you what I would do.”
She would inhale and exhale lightly as she cleared her own mind as she looked over at her bags in the corner. “Faris you are not alone despite the fact you have lost the trail of the monk, Chaos, and the white knight as you call him. Your friends, your crew, and your home will all be found to you once again. Sometime in the future you will.”
Taking a few moments to gather her thoughts she pulled her hand back and moved to rest on the side of the bed again. Her head laying against the side of the mattress as she closed her eyes. ”You have someone in front of your right now that is absolutely certain that they want to help you. Hydaelyn does not speak to me anymore either. I can assume that it is the same as your crystals speaking with you. Just know that despite that we still are fighters and that is what we do. We fight one and whether what is in front of us despite not knowing what is coming…”
As she finished speaking as she pulled her hand away and rested her hand back within her lap. She had tried as best she could now it would just be if Faris understood what it was that she was mentioning to him. She hoped it actually would sink in and help the pirate captain.

You've got a lot of brass, or mayhap you're just lacking in brains!
[attr="class","itsover"] Faris nearly groaned as Eillien touched his arm. He didn't want this -- not now and not here. Maybe at another time in another place, on some daring adventure with the thrill of the fight pumping through him as loudly as his laughter. Maybe then he'd take her by the arm, spout some cool line, and relish in her touch. But that time wasn't now and that place wasn't here. Now he wanted nothing more than for the room to stop spinning and then to sleep.
She told him that she didn't know what he was supposed to do. Well, that wasn't a surprise. How could she when he could barely get his thoughts straight himself? He hadn't been looking for an answer. Not really.
Above him, the ceiling's ventilation rattled unnervingly. Below him, the bed smelled of soap and cinnamon. He longed for the creak of old floorboards and the subtle tilt of the waves. Maybe then his stomach would stop lurching to compensate.
"Faris, you're not alone," she said.
"You have someone in front of you right now."
"We fight on."
His throat caught and then he was laughing. She sounded exactly like Bartz.
"Aye," he said. "We fight on. Always have, always will."
'Stupid. Why'd I ever get to sulking like this?' he thought glumly. 'Maybe I needed an idiot like him to keep me going. Nothing ever comes from going it alone. Nothing good, anyway.'
Still, he should have known better. Faris had always taken his problems head on with a laugh and a spear. He wasn't one to skulk around complaining, but he guessed that only went to show what loneliness could do to a person. It had even broken him for a night, and that was saying something.
He wanted something to fight and someone to fight it with. He wanted to find that knight again and let those righteous words spur him to action. He wanted a challenge, and he wanted to battle it with friends.
Goddamn it, he wanted Bartz. Faris tilted back his head and groaned. He really had hit rock bottom, hadn't he?
"Sorry, lass," he muttered into his arm. "Seems I'm a mess tonight, and a bit daft at that. A good night's sleep and I'll be ready for a fight tomorrow."
He hoped. There wasn't anything to say his mood wouldn't keep storming like this until the end of his days, but he had a good idea. The Faris he knew wouldn't let something like loneliness keep him down. The Faris he knew would storm out of this dismal inn and fight back against the world and himself alike -- whichever got in his way. Tomorrow, he'd throw himself fists first into the action. Tomorrow, he'd start his search again. If not for Chaos, then for the only one he knew would share his convictions.
The white knight. Out of everyone he'd met in this strange land, that knight was the one he longed for most.
"Think I'll take you up on that offer, if you don't mind. I could use the rest." Faris let out a tired sigh and pulled himself fully onto the bed. After a few fumbled attempts, he managed to kick his boots off the edge, grunting faintly as they each clattered to the ground in turn. "You don't have to let me hog the bed, lass. I don't need the help that much." He rolled over onto his side, half curled up with an arm beneath his head. His eyes were already dragging closed.
"You're a good friend, Eillien," he said, then yawned, shifted, and muttered. "Thanks."
She smiled widely as he did speak about that he agreed with her. To go along and keep moving forward slogging through all of the bad that was in front of them, and defeat the evil that lay in front of them. It was a way that she knew that she lived her life and that someone like Faris had to of lived their life. “That is what we do. We always keep moving forward.”
Taking the moment to speak she looked at him and tried to give him a reassuring smile. It was obvious that she was trying as much as she possibly could. Yet this was something that she was not fully used to doing as normally others were picking her up when she was moping like this. :: Maybe I should try a different style of approach because it does not seem to be sinking in… I want Faris to feel better and get himself up off the ground as a great hero sometimes need this. I just have this feeling that Faris was one of those… Faris has to be one of those heroes. ::
The thoughts that were bothering her mind slipped away as she smiled at him and noticed him move. She was about to move to assist him when she noticed him move fine enough and kick off his boots. Watching the boots land upon the ground she would look up and catch a glimpse of Fari’s feet before they slipped beneath the blanket once more. As he moved and shifted on the bed she could not help but feel her face redden as a blush covered her face. Turning away she would remove her own boots and set them aside. Her gloves would be placed upon the boots and she would keep her back to him as she undid the heavy coat she had and hung it upon a hook and moved to sit on the side of the bed.
“No thank you Faris. Having you as a friend is something that I will treasure. “ Speaking softly as she laid down beside him and she would lay on her side and after pulling another blanket over herself she would drape her arm over Faris’ stomach. Her head would be nuzzled in tight to his back as she felt herself slowly begin to drift off toward sleep.
