II. PERSONA
Asena is, in the bluntest of terms a prankster. She enjoys nothing more than playing tricks or setting traps for others to stumble into, or even using her magic to mess with them. Nine times out of ten if you are meeting Asena for the first time, it is because she’s done something akin to dunking you in a barrel of tar and feather or slowed your running to a snail’s pace in a crowd. Though she is not necessarily an evil person she is a selfish one. She will most often put her entertainment above looking out for someone’s safety, of course she also puts her own safety and wellbeing before others, To her life is simple, it is a game. It is just a matter of who beats who.
But in that same vein it is a game she wants to know all about. She wishes to know the truth of the world, to know in every way how it ticks. In her own world beyond the Sealed Gate this showed itself in her curiosity regarding things like the Warring Triad.
‘Just let me touch the statues once, just once, what could it hurt?’
For her Elders Asena was both a star student and their biggest annoyance. Her desires meant that she learned quickly, became well versed in both their history and culture, in where they came from and the three that created them. On the flip side of that coin Asena was, and always would be a person out for herself and her own entertainment, out for what she wanted. She enjoyed using the magic she learned to mess with her fellow Esper’s, this was something that would continue in Zephon, earning her a less than stellar reputation among the world’s inhabitants. It doesn't help that Asena is a very selfish and self centered person. Her utmost desire is to learn new things, to discover what she doesn't know. In Asena’s eyes she is the one who will reach the truth of the world, what it is at its core, if for whatever reason she can’t? She’ll use whoever she needs to reach it instead. She has no qualms manipulating others to her own means. Short term, long term it doesn’t matter. Asena might decide to help you grow strong, to improve yourself beyond what you currently are-perhaps she’ll pretend she likes you, pretend she cares about you, even play a feint at loving you.
But the chances of any of that truly being the case are one hundred to one, There’s only one thing Asena cares about and it’s not a person. She will use you until the moment you're no longer of use to her and then she’ll throw you away, she’ll put on any mask she needs to, there are as many masks to the Esper as there are the actual masks she wears. She can put on airs and pretend to shift up her attitude and personality seemingly on a dime, being able to shift around her appearance with her natural aptitude for illusion magic just makes things worse in this department. Asena does not feel bad about the deceptions she puts on, because in her mind it is all for the greater pursuit of hers. That is what matters, you, in all likelihood do not to her beyond your ability to help her reach the next thing she wishes to learn. She is reliable until you're not of use to her, she will help you for as long as you can help her. But the moment you can’t do that? The moment you are between her and the knowledge she so covets?
Well, you can be gone for all she cares.
‘Bye bye~! See you in your next life~!’
Several travelers to the world of Zephon could attest to such a fact if they were still around, if they were remembered. The natural residents are just as aware-She is despised for her pranks and her utter lack of care for anything but herself. Yet they continue to fall victim to the girl's natural charm and charisma again and again. And again and again do people find themselves thrown to the perverbele wolves.
‘But that doesn’t matter, a new mask, a new self is all it takes to rope them back in again~!’

III. BACKGROUND
Asena is a naturally born Esper Once humans changed by interacting with Magic and the Warring Triad. The interaction fully changed them from what they once were into new beings, varying from human like to completely different. Asena for her part retains a strong resemblance to your average human-her wolf-like ears, fangs and claws being the only indication of her being something more, Something pretty easily covered up with her Magic if need be.
As an Esper Asena has a natural affinity for magic, this along with her studious nature mean that she is quite capable of using several different types of magic from the Elemental to Status affecting, to even protective. As one might expect she is most proficient in the later two, with a noted mastery in Illusion based magic, something she has mastered to the point of being able to shift her own appearance, voice, clothing etc, to match another being or person's, only truly limited by knowledge of a given subject. Ie:If she knew what Locke looked like, but not what he sounded like she could copy his appearance but not his voice. Furthermore, while she can make her own attempts replicate an ability with her own skills, she cannot actually copy the natural abilities inherent to a person or what there weapons and equipment might possesses. She wishes she could, she'd be jealous of Gogo if she met them. That said her illusions are very solid and not easily dispelled due to her mastery and are much of the reason she's been able to cause the chaos she has in her new world.
'We all have Masks, perhaps tomorrow you'll find you had a long lost sister you never knew!'
Asena prefers to avoid open combat, and will often use her own abilities to avoid such results, that said it does not mean the esper cannot defend herself. In combat Asena is an agile fighter, often described as a 'dancing reaper' from her use of her Scythe. As one would expect from such a nickname her physical combat itself is much like a dance, with her quickly moving around the field and swiftly striking at her foe with her scythe. She is fast but not as physical durable as one would expect,at least not compared to most of her fellow Esper. This marks her swift movement being just as attributed to trying to avoid her opponents movements swiftly. That said if given the opportunity she delights in messing with her foes, whether that be with by slowing them down or Hasting them into a wall. If she's really feeling like messing with you you might even find yourself on the end of some good old poison or bio! Yes as far as magic she prefer to debilitate her opponents then striking them down if they lack entertainment value or use to her. Of course on the flip side if manipulation has already failed and she does need you she's as likely to use these same strategies to coax others into helping her.
'And I don't care if that's through you or your friend~!"
Asena posses the ability to use *Blue Magic* Though she is far from a master, and only able to use magic based 'Blue Magic' That is to say she can use things like Aqua Breath and Bad Breath. She is also currently unable to use the strongest magic in this field (ie she is nowhere near capable of feats like Grand Delta and Quasar, again think the simpler VI Blue Magic)
'And keep Silence away from me, I Silence you not the other way around!'

IV. HISTORY
Asena was born in the Esper world, a long time after the war between humans and espers that had caused them to move there. Even from a young age she was quite the trickster! She would often play pranks on her parents and other members of their community, despite how she was scolded. Despite efforts made to correct such behavior it never really stopped, Asena simply got more enjoyment out of her ‘jokes’ no matter how bad they seemed to others. Her childhood was filled with things like this, along with her parents educating her on their past. About the world they came from and the humans who drove them from it. About the Warring Triad that lay as statues at the center of their world. Perhaps as a result of her parents trying to spare her the harsher reality of things Asena simply saw it as the humans outdoing them then. They simply won the game, so in her eyes why couldn't they simply win things back in turn? Curiously she found herself not hating the humans as some of their older people did.
‘They won, it’s as simple as that. They had a good hand, they made their play right and drove us back, why be mad? Why not instead just turn them on there head right back~’
The Warring Triad, they were a subject of great interest to her. As she grew up, she would often go to see them, under supervision of course. The ones that made them how they were, the strongest among them she had assumed. If they were ever moved out of balance. Untold chaos would be visited on the world, was that a fact? How did they know anyway? Her curiosity couldn't help but be stoked. She ended up getting her visits cut off when she tried to run up and push the statues in her curiosity. She was severely scolded and, what was worse she didn’t even get the answer to her question! her intrigue in them never faded however, even if her elders would never let her near them without intense supervision again. She’d have preferred to look them over up close again… but well… none of them were so foolish as all that.
‘Weren't any of them just a little curious? Bleh!’
This routine continued throughout the years along with her education, The experience gave her something productive to do, unfortunately it also gave her the knowledge to make her tricks even craftier. Through the years Asena grew a desire to learn… everything she could. She liked learning about the world around her. Every detail. She wanted to learn the good, she wanted to learn the bad, the happy the sad. She wanted to learn things close by and far away.
‘I want… to know everything, I don’t want anything to escape my mind. I want to learn everything, I want it all to be mine’
It was ironic that she found her ‘pranks’ a great way to learn a lot of these things, and in fact it was part of what made them grow worse and worse over the years… and come to a head in the new land she would find herself in later in life.
But for now her life continued this way, it was like a game to her. Everything was fun, everything was right. She was enjoying her life to the fullest…
Until the Gestahlian Empire came.
It was sometime after a human woman came and mated with one of them. She probably led the way for them. Humans… lots of them stormed in and attacked them. Kidnapped them. They were strong, as strong as she had thought they would be. Many watched in horror as her people were attacked and dragged away, But she watched in curiosity.
‘Funny, the humans don’t turn into magicite when they die, they don't turn into stone at all’
‘They can’t use magic, and yet they can do all this….’
One by one her kin were taken… after they took her parents they came after her. She did her best to fight them off, she was even able to take a few down, she made sure the ones that had given off her parents did not get away… But eventually they brought her to the ground. They reached for her and she found she did not wish to be caged. If she was caged she could not learn more, she would rot in whatever place the humans took her, bored out of her mind as they prodded her for the secrets of magic.
‘Being hurt is one thing, but that's the worst. No no LET me go! I will not, there's so much more I will not be shut away!’
Perhaps her wish resonated with the world, perhaps it was a coincidence. Perhaps someone wanted to drag her to that new world for their own game. To this day it is something the Esper wishes wholeheartedly to find out! And she supposed she would also owe it a thanks, for not only was she freed from her entrapment, but she was given a whole new world to learn about and free from any restraints with which to go about it! A whole new people to know, with beings from other places, other worlds coming in all the time….
It was for the girl who wished to know everything, a paradise in her eyes, just what she wanted.
The place she awoke in was Senora. Such a place as this was perfect for her, at least that's what she had thought at the time. But the place shunned outsiders much to Asena’s annoyance; she would often be cut off from learning what she wished or looking as deep as she wanted to do to the peoples bias. This in turn would cause Asena to only fuel that bias more with her antics only getting worse. She messed with people, she used people. If she had to look like someone they could trust she’d do that, then toss them away in the end. Who cared? They were the ones that made it hard, so who cared about them? If what it took was a mask to get them to give her what she wanted then so be it. She’d become their friend, their sister, a lover or a teacher. She’d lift them up if needed, and toss them away when she didn’t want them anymore. Such an attitude would naturally only sour Sernora’s bias towards outsiders even more, but while they were the greatest example they were not the only ones, a search for knowledge would naturally lead to Asena traveling this new world, and along with it came her antics. Her annoying antics, her cruel antics, devoid of care for anyone but herself and what she wanted.
‘Just stay useful and you have nothing to worry about, geez!’
This reputation caused people to call her a ‘masked fool’ both because of her habit of using illusions to fool others, and because she’d often be seen wearing one of her many masks when she wasn’t. For who but a fool would cause the chaos this woman caused? Surely it would come back to bite her one day? Perhaps she would find herself in that same position she had four years ago, before she was tossed into this world.
‘Pffft… as if! This world is my cloister, my playground! And I want to know every detail!’
