II. PERSONA
Stalwart, focused and unflappable against the odds, he’s just what you’d expect from a fairy tale. Setro embodies virtue and conviction, swearing fealty not just to Princess Sarah of Cornelia, but to the light and its ever constant endeavour to bring peace to the realm. So long as the light endures, so too shall the Warrior of Light. Setro's unwavering perseverance does however often leave his allies at a loss when trying to understand him.
One wonders if there’s more to the Warrior of Light. What are his ambitions outside of conflict? What does he like? Is it even a concept he knows? In truth, whatever conflicts he might have are oft handled internally rather than expressed externally. He fights so that others may live. For a time, that would sustain him, but even now… a part of him thinks that maybe if there were more of a connection, his resolve would be greater. So while he is aware of these things, it will still take time before Setro, not the Warrior of Light, explores these facets of himself.
Despite his often frank and upfront way of speaking, Setro is a kind-hearted soul beneath that veneer of solitude. He will do what he can to tend to the woes of his friends and sometimes, even his foes. The Warrior of Light isn’t above admitting his own failings and will address them accordingly, either. But should his adversary attempt any ploys of manipulation or any of its ilk (mind games, trickery), they best try harder, for he is not so easily swayed. In the end, so long as conflict exists, the Warrior of Light will be there to extinguish the darkness.

III. HISTORY
There once was a prophecy that four warriors of light will pull the world from the brink of darkness. Four warriors that will slay the fiends that have corrupted the four crystals, the source of this world’s power that has long since grown dim. Setro is one of those four. He arrives in the kingdom of Cornelia with the others, all bearing a darkened crystal attuned to one of the four elements. These four are summoned by the King to seek out and rescue Princess Sarah from her abductor, the former Cornelian knight now an apostate, Garland — a name and force they will encounter again…
Having rescued the princess and returning her to the king, the warriors of light resume their quest that lies eastward. On their travels, they would encounter and resolve numerous conflicts — such as rescuing the town of Pravoka from assailing pirates, foiling the plans of the dark elf Estos and rescuing the prince of Elfheim, as well as aiding the Dwarves mission to clear our a path out of the Aldean Sea. It seems no matter where trouble was, the warriors of light were not far to snuff it out. But this was a prelude of what was to come, where their true endeavours lie in wait.
Courtesy of the pirates, Setro, along with the other warriors, set out to sea on their newly acquired ship and make haste to Melmond, a city writhing in desolation. Working on the villager’s speculations that a vampire is to blame for the land’s stolen vigour, they make their way to the Cavern of Earth where they confront and defeat the vampire. But vanquishing it did not restore Melmond. With some help, they unearth the true culprit that lurked deeper within. Lich, the Fiend of Earth. Its demise, despite restoring the crystal of earth to its former strength, unwittingly woke another — Marilith, the Fiend of Fire. With this chain of events unfolding, their true calling came to head. Pursuing Marilith to her lair; they met in battle and emerged victorious. With Marilith slain, the fire crystal regained its vitality. The warriors knew that whatever trials and tribulations await them, their mettle must be true and their wits unwavering.
From tundras to sand, they explore the Cavern of Ice to retrieve the levistone, an artefact they would later use in the Ryukahn desert to unearth and raise a derelict airship from its earthly coils. From there, they fly to the Cardian Islands to commune with the dragon king Bahamut who beseeched them to undergo a rite within the Citadel of Trials. Should they survive, they were to bring back the proof of success — the warriors returned triumphant and with their boon in tow. Bahamut, recognizing their valour and commitment, bestowed upon them new powers to embolden their endeavours.
After rescuing a fairy encased within a bottle, the warriors of light are gifted with the oxyale, a trinket that allows them to breath under water and continue their quest to restore the crystals. Travelling under the city of Onrac, they unearth the Sunken Shrine where their next Fiend, the Kraken, laid therein. With their newly attained powers, they swiftly defeat the Fiend and thus restore vitality to the water crystal. From under the oceans and into the skies, the warriors next travel to Lufenia, where their aid falls upon deaf ears or rather, they cannot understand the words of Lufenia. With a little help, Setro and the others retrieve a chime that would grant them access to the Mirage Tower, an edifice that when reaching its peak, would rapidly take them to the Flying Fortress. There, they would confront the Fiend of Wind, Tiamat, slaying it and restoring the wind crystal to its former glory.
With all four crystals restored, their powers began converging at an axis point. The warriors follow this trail and come to said convergence — by interacting with the orb that was syphoning their powers, Setro and the others are hurled back 2000 years into the past. In a strange twist of events, they are met by the Four Fiends, though it would appear they were yet blemished by time. After dispatching them, they are met by their master, Chaos, or, to be precise, they met the man that first set them on this path — Garland! It was through their first adversary they discovered the truth behind the events that befell the world. The Four Fiends are byproducts of Garland’s rage that merged with the four crystals. When he was defeated, the Fiends pulled him 2000 years into the past and in turn were sent by Garland to the future, thus creating a time loop that allowed the Cornelian apostate to live forever. Taking on the form of Chaos, the stage was set for their final battle. Setro and the warriors of light would end this conflict the way it started.
The battle was long and fierce but in the end, it was the warriors of light who prevailed. They had finally laid their old adversary to rest, thus breaking the chain of this twisted, self-orchestrated fate. With Chaos’ demise, Setro and the others are brought back to their time. Their victory came at a sacrifice, however. By slaying Garland in the past, his present self never existed. As such, their quest never happened. The path that set them on rescuing the world was gone, with naught a flicker of anyone knowing of it besides the four. And yet… tales remained, legends of four heroes thwarting pirates and slaying dragons. No matter what, they persevered — so long as the light endures, so too will the four warriors.

As those memories and experience grow so incandescently, his strength is doubled as Setro takes a step in defiance to this power. And finally, memories of the four banding together to save Princess Sarah, the fair royal who blessed their endeavours — all of this accumulates into the moment where Setro would finally dispel the waves of darkness with a barge of his shield. The midnight blanket that hung over them dissipated as light slowly began returning to the shrine.
“Comrades!” Calling out to the other warriors of light, Setro would straighten his posture, the broadness of his back facing them as he would begin to rallying speech. “This battle decides the fate of the world. Garland— no, Chaos, threatens that which we hold dear. I will not lie, we stand against the precipice between victory and defeat. Whatever happens, we will face it together, as we have since the beginning of our journey.” Fingers coil around the handle of his shield whilst the grip of his sword thickens with intensity and his eyes are sharpened with an intense gaze. “Chaos, your villainy ends here.” With the shield raised to his side and the sword now lifted upward, he points it at their adversary before finally declaring, “We warriors of light will snuff out the darkness and bring peace back to the realm!”

“So even as you die again and again, I shall return! Born again into this endless cycle I have created!”
Plumes of darkness rush over the sanctum of chaos, booming with raw and unbridled power Chaos had come to harness. Setro, with his lustrous shield, stepped forth against the impending tides, bracing its impact and dispersing it so his ilk may yet suffer its strain. His face was mired with twitches of pain and gritted teeth, but he endured nonetheless. This was no act of grandeur, his class mandates he become the aegis that will protect them and the sword that strikes their foes down. There was no greater or lesser warrior of light — they perfectly balanced each other out. Setro would persevere against Chaos' onslaught of a display. He must, lest Cornelia and the world he was sworn to protect be next. But he feels his resolve resonating from the experiences they all shared.
