II. PERSONA
Terence is, first of all, a very kind soul. He cannot stand to harm others if not for a more than good reason, and despises wars of conquest. Even so, he is a brilliant strategist and offers military advice to his prince and lover, Dion Lesage. He treasures the man deeply and would give up anything -even his own life- for him.
He follows Dion's orders to the letter, at the best of his possibilities, and is deeply loyal to him - way more than he is to Sanbreque. His oath, after all, has always been to serve him, not the Empire. He has fallen indren, and has been faithful to the prince ever since. He tends to his wounds and to his needs, supporting him through any decision, for better or worse, unconditionally.
He is somehow shy and insecure, in his daily life, although he fights his own insecurities and finds strength in his lover, even simply thinking about him gives Terence the courage to do whatever is necessary. To protect, serve and love him is the entire purpose of his life, and they are devoted to each other. In battle, he tosses his insecurities aside and focuses solely on the purpose of protecting his comrades -especially Dion-, and surviving for his lover's sake. He cannot die, as long as the prince will be waiting for him.
After learning of Bahamut's fall, he became quiet, silent enough for some people to wonder if he had become entirely mute. His loss was a heavy blow, from which he believes he will never truly recover.

III. HISTORY
He was born in the Beaufoy family in the year 850. His family is not one of major nobles, but that never bothered him. As per tradition, he enrolled in a school when he was 7, together with Prince Dion Lesage, and after a few years he became his squire at first, then his knight. He swore an oath to himself to always protect his Prince, no matter the circumstances, as long as He wanted it.
A few years later, Dion was wounded in battle, because he took a blow in Terence's place. The knight tended carefully to him and his wounds, eventually confessing to the Prince the truth: he was in love, and he had been in love with him for a long time. He had never found the courage to tell him because he thought he would be refused, but instead Dion accepted his feelings and insisted for the two of them to become lovers.
At first, Terence thought it a bad idea: many would think awfully of them, should the information leak, but Dion was adamant and in the end Terence could not help but yield to his will, as it was also his wish for them to be able to love each other, even if in secret.
Another few years passed, and Dion established the Holy Order of the Knights Dragoon, of which Terence was named second-in-command, much to his surprise. In the following battles, the two would always be together, as long as Bahamut itself was not required on the field.
Terence was extremely worried about the power of Bahamut that Dion wielded. It was a great strain on his body, and even with Terence's care and the healers' aid, he feared that the Curse would take him, sooner or later. Dion reassured him, and although this feeling never subsided, Terence chose not to bring up the topic again.
In the Cristalline Dominion, Terence discovered that Dion had planned a coup against his father and the new empress. Following the Prince's question, he assured him that he and his soldiers would always follow him, no matter the circumstance, even at the cost of their very lives.
Soon after, Bahamut lost control and attacked Twinside, and later did Terence reunite with Dion, joining him along with the dragoons who had survived the assault to protect Ran'dellah. After this event, though, Dion asked of him something the knight hoped he would never: to leave his side. Terence insisted, because he wanted to be at his side until the bitter end, but eventually his lover's determination to find forgiveness with his own strength left him without other options.
So he left, officially released from his duties as a dragoon, to look for a girl who had saved Dion's life. He let his lover go, fully knowing that he would not return to his side, and ever since he learned of his departure, he has not been quite himself. He has become awfully silent, only talking when strictly necessary, or forced to.
One day, after crying himself into a disturbed sleep, he awakened somewhere entirely different. He was confused, he thought he might still be sleeping. But everything felt all too real to be a dream. Where was he? And why? Could he find a way to go back to that girl? Or was it a sign? She had someone to go to even without him, now...
