[attr="class","ion-heart"] Only those who try, will become.
Kimahri Ronso originates from the world of Spira, and once served as the High Summoner Yuna's most trusted and loyal guardian. A stoic and silent man whose past is marred with tragedy. Once ostracized and disowned by his people, Kimahri would take his place among the Ronso in a contest of strength against his rivals Biran and Yenke, only to have it stripped away in an act of genocide at the hands of the unsent Maester of Yevon, Seymour Guado, leaving him the only living survivor of his tribe. Displaced to the mysterious world of Zephon since then, a dark horror wearing Yuna's face has set its sights on weakening and tormenting Kimahri, threatening to destroy everything he holds dear for the sake of claiming him as its prize.
FRIENDSHIPS DAYS GO BY, BUT I DON'T SEEM TO NOTICE THEM
It is difficult to befriend Kimahri for many reasons, his propensity towards constant silence notwithstanding. Preferring solitude to the company of others, he makes for poor conversation most of the time, but under the right conditions, Kimahri proves generally tolerant of most people. He does make for an excellent listener, and when he does actually speak, it is because he has something relevant to offer. He is slow to trust anyone, but those who have earned the distinction of being called a friend to Kimahri will find no better companion, for his loyalty is unyielding and steadfast, and he will risk his own life to ensure his allies remain unharmed.
HATESHIPS JUST A ROUNDABOUT OF TURNS
Unless a person has racial biases, to aggrieve yourself with Kimahri is to personally go out of your way to make him an enemy. For better or worse, he tries to not to feed any trolls, as they are unworthy of attention. However, it is not entirely difficult to provoke the wrath of a Ronso, especially one as prone to criticism as Kimahri; commenting on his size, or his broken horn, will aggravate him to the point of unresponsiveness. Attacking his limited circle of friends, however, especially Yuna, is a transgression Kimahri is liable to hold grudges over, and he will personally chase down and punish anyone responsible for bringing harm to the people he cares about.
LOVESHIPS ALL THESE NIGHTS I LIE AWAKE AND ON MY OWN
The prejudices of the Ronso people have compelled Kimahri to suppress his true thoughts about love and romance, and the training he underwent to become a guardian for Yuna has all but completely walled off this portion of his heart to other people. He expresses nothing less than full support for the relationships of other people, but Kimahri secretly yearns for one of his own, yet he cannot bring himself to pursue this dream out of fear that his feelings will go unrequited, as it has happened in the past with Biran; while he never learned this for himself, Biran perceived Kimahri's sensitivity towards him as a weakness, and used it as pretense to break off his horn. Kimahri is, for all intents and purposes, afraid that he will be harmed for feeling the way he does.
SPELLS & ABILITIES MY PALE FIRE HARDLY BURNS
Kimahri's Sphere Grid is a mixture between LULU and TIDUS, respectively. Having no defined path of his own to follow, he took after Lulu and apprenticed under her in the ways of black magic during the ten years he spent training to become Yuna's guardian, becoming adept enough in its practice to learn all there is to know about its applications and the many ways he can exploit monster weaknesses. Following his travels with Tidus, however, Kimahri has since come to be more flexible in his approach to combat and has taken steps to improvise whenever he can to keep his skills sharp, thereby giving him the needed fluidity of body and mind to perform agile attacks and take control over the flow of a fight.[break][break]
All abilities in Final Fantasy X fall under one of four different categories, listed below. Abilities that are inherent to Kimahri, or learned from either Lulu or Tidus, will be color-coded appropriately.[break][break]
BLACK MAGIC
Fire: Inflict small fire-elemental damage.
Fira: Inflict moderate fire-elemental damage.
Firaga: Inflict large fire-elemental damage.
Blizzard: Inflict small ice-elemental damage.
Blizzara: Inflict moderate ice-elemental damage.
Blizzaga: Inflict large ice-elemental damage.
Thunder: Inflict small lightning-elemental damage.
[attr="class","ion-heart"] I shall copy your every move.
Nobody knows exactly who, or what, Gogo really is beneath their crazy ensemble of colors and fabrics. From dead lovers and emperors to missing people, hundreds of theories revolve around the hidden identity of the famous Master Mime, yet none have successfully shed light, for Gogo eludes all explanation. What is actually known for certain is their apropos talent for the art of imitation, and that they are the ultimate apex of the craft. Transported to the mysterious dimension of Zephon following the events that took place at Kefka's Tower, Gogo has since wandered the land in search of a place where they can feel as if they truly belong.
FRIENDSHIPS I'M STICKING WITH YOU
For better or worse, Gogo is a rather impressionable character. Their talents for mimicry allows them to dramatically alter and modify their personality, and thus their whole way of being, to meet the dynamics of any group setting with nothing less than perfect harmony; they can fit any mold, or wear any face, and play the role as if it were truly second nature. Actually befriending Gogo is not a difficult endeavor, provided the subject in question piques their curiosity enough to warrant them shadowing their every movement as per their habit of duplicating anything that strikes their fancy. Extended isolation within the Zone Eater's belly has all but rendered Gogo desperate for companionship, and they will follow just about anyone if it means Gogo shall be remembered and appreciated.
HATESHIPS BECAUSE I'M MADE OUT OF GLUE
Gogo's compulsive habit of imitating people is liable to attract aggression from people that do not show an appreciation for the mimic's reflective disposition; choosing to hate Gogo will invariably cause them to hate the other person in respect, although the exact nature and length of this grudge will only go as far as the other person is willing to carry it.
LOVESHIPS ANYTHING THAT YOU MIGHT DO
Is it possible for a mimic to feel love? That is a question for the ages, as Gogo's reflective character leaves many possibilities available with regards to the realms of romance and affection. Theoretically, Gogo could demonstrate a capacity to display affection, but much could also be said about the truthfulness of these feelings, as Gogo is also compelled to duplicate the emotions felt by others. Some might even speculate that only the act of mimicry itself is Gogo's true love, and that all efforts to imitate another person is their way of expressing it.
SPELLS & ABILITIES I'M GONNA DO, TOO
COMMAND ABILITY: MIMIC[break] Allows Gogo to copy the last ability used by any party member, permitting duplication of any spell, Lore, or Esper summon without the consuming any MP whatsoever, as well as the use of any item or the Throw command without reducing inventory stock. Copying the Gil Toss command will still expend funds, however, and mimicking Gau's Rage or Mog's Dance commands will still cause Gogo to enter an uncontrollable state in the same way.[break][break]
In the case of Mog's Dance command, if Mog should stumble during an attempt, Gogo can potentially succeed in their own; a successful Dance changes the surrounding terrain to match the context of the Dance used, so if Mog succeeds and Gogo tries to copy him, they will also succeed by virtue of Mog's own efforts, as the terrain becomes the Dance's native landscape.[break][break]
Gogo cannot mimic Desperation Attacks or similar finishing moves. If they attempt to copy such a technique, or uses Mimic when no one else has taken an action, Gogo will instead opt to attack an enemy normally. They can imitate a previously copied command again, provided no one else has acted after Gogo's previous turn—this could potentially allow Gogo to summon Espers indefinitely with continuous duplication, for example, however the Master Mime refuses to exploit their powers in so petty a way.[break][break]
UNIQUE ABILITY: SIMULACRUM[break] Not a power or technique, but a quality inherent to Gogo's unique existence as the undisputed Master of Mimicry. Aside from his own command ability, Gogo can equip up to three extra command abilities usable by other party members, with the sole exception being Terra's Trance ability. If a character equips a relic that changes the ability to something else, it will also reflect itself in Gogo's repertoire, as well. When equipping the Magic command, Gogo gains access to any and every spell that has been learned by at least one other member of the active party.[break][break]
DESPERATION ATTACK: PUNISHING METEOR[break] Gogo raises their hand to the sky and calls forth an enormous meteor from space to descend upon a single enemy, inflicting non-elemental magical damage. According to some rumors, this maneuver is a perfect counter against certain types of enemies that do not appreciate the subtleties of mimicry, but others suggest that Gogo deploys it against foes that fail to meet their standards in a test of replication.
[attr="class","ion-heart"] I wield the greatest sword there is!
A soi-disant collector of exotic weapons and all-around melee combat enthusiast, Gilgamesh once served under Exdeath as his lieutenant and top enforcer until a series of unfortunate events resulted in his permanent banishment to the Interdimensional Rift. He would later attempt to sacrifice his own life in defense of the Light Warriors he failed to defeat, only to be sent hurtling across and throughout the Rift for an indeterminate length of time until it ejected him into the alien world of Zephon.[break][break]
Stranded without a means to return home, Gilgamesh has since taken to aimlessly wandering this new land in search of special weapons, secret treasures, strong opponents, and something that might actually resemble a legitimate plot. Surely, it can't be worse than being stuck in the Rift forever, yeah?
RAPPORTS FLY THROUGH THE STORM, POWER OF STEEL
Gilgamesh has a fast and loose understanding of the word "friendship" here. He believes the quickest way to get to know somebody is to fight them, and those who manage to impress him with their strength and skills receive the pitiful distinction of being treated as one of his close companions. Even without having to do battle against him, Gilgamesh is a rather affable fellow and has no qualms with mingling among the commonfolk in peaceful settings, provided one can tolerate his ceaseless yammering for more than five minutes. Putting aside the more annoying qualities of his personality, Gilgamesh will gladly lend aid to those he has grown fond of, and, if necessary, put his own life in jeopardy to defend someone else's. Just don't expect him to blow himself up again; it was supposed to be all poignant and dramatic the first time around, but it didn't work like he planned for it to, and now he just feels like an idiot for even trying that idea to begin with.
RIVALRIES STRIKING WITH VENGEANCE, FORCE THEM TO KNEEL
Rivalry is traditionally defined as a lasting competitive relationship between two or more people, and people who beat Gilgamesh in some manner or another invariably end up being marked as one of his countless rivals on the road to eternal glory. That being said, however, the fact this occurs so frequently means no one ends up taking him seriously whenever he comes back for the inevitable rematch. Mark his words, though, he will come back. Eventually. At some point. Maybe. Who knows? He could be plotting to ambush you right now...[break][break]
Wanting to make Gilgamesh a true enemy, on the other hand, really depends on how low a person is willing to sink in order to provoke this kind of response from him. Go ahead, make fun of him, call him names, dunk on how badly he sucks at fighting, say his weapons are fake, shamelessly dehumanize him until your lungs give out—but never tell Gilgamesh he cannot succeed, suggest that his dreams are unattainable, convince him to quit trying, threaten to injure or take away what is precious to him, or slander those he respects and honors as true warriors.[break][break]
I'm being legit here, y'all, I've never considered the possibility of Gilgamesh actually getting that upset with someone, and I don't know how that'll show itself in words, so, uh... take caution and hope he shows mercy, I guess...
ROMANCES SOLDIERS UNITE, FORCE OF THE WORLD
Ah, the smoldering flame of love! Gilgamesh is a well-traveled man, has seen many sights and experienced much of what life has to offer him. Yes, even that. But for him to consider the idea of being in a relationship? Settling down?Marriage?! Perish the thought entirely! Only two passions have been known to enamor Gilgamesh completely, these being his appreciation for fine weaponry and his enjoyment of the fiercest and toughest battles. You could tempt him with the sweetest and darkest pleasures imaginable, and Gilgamesh would still find a way to prioritize his love of weapons and fighting over these. Rumor has it that a Siren tried to charm Gilgamesh and failed so badly, she had an existential crisis; some say she continues to work as a barmaid in Walse to this very day...[break][break]
But speaking entirely from an outsider's perspective here, you could consider his brotherhood with Enkidu to be a kind of domestic partnership, if you want to... only if you're a deranged nutcase, that is.
SPELLS & ABILITIES FIGHT TILL THE END, WE WILL DIE BY THE SWORD
SKILLS[break] Dischord: Halves the level of a single target, significantly weakening their performance in combat.[break] Dancehall Daze: Inflicts one target with Sleep status.[break] Electrocute: Inflicts minor lightning damage against one target.[break] Wind Slash: Inflicts moderate wind damage against all enemies.[break] Hurricane: Reduces one target's HP to a single digit.[break] Rocket Punch: Inflicts damage equal to half the target's HP and Confuse status.[break] Chain Detonation: Dummied skill. No, really, this attack actually does nothing. It was programmed in there, and it probably had some kind of purpose related to death animations at one point, but it's defunct now and taking up valuable space in his move list, and Gilgamesh can't get rid of it. It could have other uses, though...[break][break]
BLUE MAGIC[break] Aera: Inflicts moderate wind damage against one target.[break] Goblin Punch: Inflicts physical damage against one target, with larger amounts possible if the target's level is equal or close to the caster's.[break] Missile: Reduces one target's HP to 1/4.[break] Death Claw: Reduces one target's HP to single digits and inflicts Paralyze status.[break] Pond's Chorus: Inflicts one target with Toad status.[break] Lilliputian Lyric: Inflicts one target with Mini status.[break] Flash: Inflicts all enemies with Blind status.[break] Time Slip: Inflicts one target with Sleep and Old status.[break] Self-Destruct: Instantly kills the user and inflicts damage equal to the user's HP against one target. [break][break]
WHITE MAGIC[break] Protect: Reduces damage received from physical attacks.[break] Shell: Reduces damage received from magical attacks. [break][break]
TIME MAGIC[break] Haste: Hastens the passing of time for one ally, doubling attack rate. [break][break]
SECRET TECHNIQUE: "IT'S MORPHING TIME!!"[break] Invoking the face-melting power of Saturday morning superhero programs and pop culture memes, Gilgamesh can call out this greatly beloved catchphrase to unleash his full power through an egregiously overbudgeted transformation sequence that allows him to change his body to its true form. Upon completing this process, not only does it radically alter his physical appearance to become more threatening, he obtains an additional six arms and hands to hold and wield extra weapons with. The metamorphosis also amplifies Gilgamesh's natural abilities and combat skills to the absolute peak of their expression, greatly adding to the amount of danger he imposes against his enemies.[break][break]
UNIQUE ABILITY: OCTO-BREAK[break] Active only in his true form, Gilgamesh can draw out a weapon's hidden potential and manifest it as a special property, attribute, or effect for as long as it remains firmly grasped in his hands. Like the name of this talent implies, he can achieve these results with up to eight separate weapons at once. Since every weapon has their individual idiosyncrasies, Gilgamesh will not be able to tell what sort of quality will spring forth until he decides to pick it up, which loans a dangerous unpredictability to an otherwise already formidable and powerful warrior. Or it could hoist him by his own petard. That's likely to happen, also.
[attr="class","ion-heart"] Some people choose to kill their emotions.
Throughout the course of his life, Clyde Arrowny has worn many masks. He'd been an orphaned child, raised and trained to be the perfect weapon for any job. A living legend among criminals and low-lives with a reputation as enormous as his skill for violence and bloodshed. A world-class criminal himself, perpetrator of the single greatest act of armed train robbery in recorded history. A fugitive of the law. A coward. A loving husband to the perfect woman. A newly wed man, soon to become a father. A dead man walking, haunted by the demons of his past. The world's best assassin. Killer of the God of Magic. Someone willing to do any job for the right price. Someone willing to pay any price to preserve the memories of a time undeserved. A ghost, a faceless wraith, a creeping shape in the darkness.[break][break]
These days, he just goes by Shadow.[break][break]
Choosing to embrace death as Kefka's tower collapsed on top of him, he suddenly wakes up in a world he immediately knows is not his own, without any connection to the one he calls home. Denied reunion with his beloved Helen in the afterlife, a choice presents itself to Clyde: continue doing what he does best to survive, or take the road less traveled and try to bury all traces of his blood-stained legacy. Though his confidence on the idea is justly warranted, it is not without a shade of irony, for even a man with his reputation is certain that no one throughout this world called Zephon could possibly know who either Shadow, or Clyde Arrowny, is.
ASSOCIATES OH, NO, I CAN'T SLOW DOWN, I CAN'T HOLD BACK
Fastidious and highly selective over the company he allows himself to keep, Shadow has only ever trusted two individuals to play the role of his partner. The first one is either dead or missing, and the other is Interceptor, who he sent away with Relm and the other Returners to lead out the remainder of his days in peace and comfort. If by some manner of astronomical fortune he was to encounter any of his former allies, Shadow may be more inclined to lend assistance to them as opposed to any other interested party, if only out of a sense of debt to the people who gave him a reason to continue living for more than money's sake.[break][break]
Even then, however, Shadow's line of work prohibits him from becoming emotionally invested with anyone, because there may come a day when he will be hired to kill someone he has grown close to. This also leads him to be paranoiac over who he trusts to support or fund his illicit activities, since he only does business through the most discerning and secretive black market vendors.
OPPOSITION OH, YOU KNOW, I WISH I COULD
People are prone to holding grudges. Being who he is and given what he does, it should come as no surprise to anyone that there are some who would want him dead, maimed, tortured, or even all of these things, in no particular order, whether they know him as Clyde Arrowny or as Shadow. A not-so-inconsiderable portion of the animosity he attracts is merely the consequences of his profession, and his conscious endeavor to drain himself of any emotional attachment to the people he is hired to kill only makes the burden so much worse to bear. To call Shadow a scoundrel would be apropos, but there have been moments where glimpses of his former self, lingering remnants of the man he used to be, peek through the surface of who he is today, and no one can be certain which of these two faces is the worse one.[break][break]
His ability to leave mountains of corpses in his wake has not diminished, but Clyde has since made the conscious decision to be different than who he was, and does his best to restrain the ever-present impulse to kill whenever it should try to rear its ugly head. Of course, that's easier said than done, when you haven't been trained especially for this exact purpose, and when all you have is a hammer...[break][break]
But Clyde will try. He'll keep his head low, he'll tend his vegetables, he'll go to the pub, he'll even pay his taxes without a fuss. Just don't try to hurt the people he has allowed himself to feel fondness for.[break][break]
And never try to make him angry. You won't like him when he's angry. And when all you have is a hammer...
PORTFOLIOS OH, NO, THERE AIN'T NO REST FOR THE WICKED
Compiled here is a list of previous contracts that Shadow has completed, or people of interest he has gathered intelligent on over the course of his lengthy career.[break][break]
COMBAT DOSSIER UNTIL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD
EQUIPMENT[break] (Ninja Sword 1) Oborozuki: Shadow's primary weapon of choice, acquired as a prize in the Dragon's Neck Coliseum after fighting a Tonberry. The finest shinobi sword ever produced, its blade shimmers bright silver like the spring moon.[break] (Ninja Sword 2) Ichigeki: Shadow's secondary weapon, found by Interceptor between the rotted bones of the Behemoth King and later given to him at the Dragon's Neck Coliseum after he vowed to join the Returners in their mission to defeat Kefka. A storied ninja sword used by a famous assassin said to have demonstrated mystical abilities. It may instantly dispatch targets in a single hit.[break] (Dagger 1) Assassin's Dagger: Shadow's alternative primary weapon. A long knife coated in a marriage of soporific neurotoxins, once favored by an ancient order of assassins that has long since passed into legend, although some insist they were never real to begin with. It may instantly dispatch targets in a single hit.[break] (Dagger 2) Man-Eater: Shadow's alternative secondary weapon. A wickedly sharp curved dagger suited almost exclusively for the act of cutting human flesh. Especially effective against humanoid targets.[break][break]
(Helm) Black Cowl: A solid black hood from a distant land. Sewn into the cowl is a mask for obscuring the wearer's face, which all but completely prevents their eyes from being seen, as well, adding a characteristic menace to their expressions.[break] (Armor) Black Garb: Solid black cloth armor from a distant land, said to be made with a special fabric that eases facilitation of camouflage techniques. That's what the rumors suggest, anyway.[break][break]
(Relic 1) Genji Glove: A one-of-a-kind armored glove from a faraway foreign land; it is clearly valuable to those who have gone the lengths to find and acquire it. Permits the use of a weapon in each hand.[break] (Relic 2) Prayer Beads: Beads used in meditation exercises by warriors of a faraway foreign land. Increases the wearer's evasion against physical attacks.[break] (Relic 3) Memento Ring: A sentimental ring, blessed by the devotion and love of a departed wife and mother. Prevents petrification, zombie, and instant death.[break][break]
THROWING ITEMS[break] Shuriken: Thin blades of sharpened metal small enough to be concealed, specifically engineered for throwing at targets from a distance. Despite their low attack power, their size and affordability justifies having a very large stock on hand during most missions, and are excellent tools for long range sniping, interrupting attacks, and creating diversions.[break] Fuma Shuriken: Enormous throwing blades for attacking targets at a distance, said to be the masterwork of a ferocious wind demon who could summon hurricanes. Presentation has made way for creative breakthroughs in their ability to be concealed via sophisticated folding mechanisms, but their large size disallows the option to carry large numbers of these tools in spite of their evident superior limb-cutting power.[break] Pinwheel: Beautifully folded origami paper stars affixed to thin needles for attacking opponents at long distance. Delicately balanced and precisely crafted, they are as much of a work of art as they are an implement for killing, eliminating victims with surgical precision and lethal accuracy. As a great deal of time and care is required to make them, these are also carried in limited supplies, but their ability to moonlight as an innocuous novelty decoration, an ornamentation for certain temples, or even a child's toy, affords Shadow many ways to psychologically torment his targets with these simple creations before they inevitably serve the purpose they were actually made for.[break][break]
Flame Scroll: A secret manual of forbidden fire techniques, penned with magic ink. Throwing the scroll breaks its seals and unfurls it, conjuring sweeping flames from the parchment. Inflicts large amounts of fire-elemental magic damage to all enemies when thrown.[break] Water Scroll: A secret manual of ancient water techniques, penned with magic ink. Throwing the scroll breaks its seals and unfurls it, producing torrential waves from the parchment. Inflicts large amounts of water-elemental magic damage to all enemies when thrown.[break] Lightning Scroll: A secret manual of esoteric lightning techniques, penned with magic ink. Throwing the scroll breaks its seals and unfurls it, summoning destructive lightning from the parchment. Inflicts large amounts of lightning-elemental magic damage to all enemies when thrown.[break] Invisibility Scroll: A secret manual of concealment techniques, penned with magic ink. Breaking the seals on the scroll and unfurling it causes a gust of leaves to swirl as all visible light bends and reflects around the user's body, rendering them imperceptible to the naked eye. Grants Shadow the Invisibility buff, which causes all physical attacks, even those that cannot be blocked normally, to automatically miss him, but will still allow him to be harmed by magic, which also removes the buff's effects.[break] Shadow Scroll: A secret manual of illusion techniques, penned with magic ink. Breaking the seals on the scroll and unfurling it douses enemies in a short-acting hallucinogenic mist before the user appears to mysteriously break apart into numerous flickering duplicates of themselves. Grants Shadow the Image buff, which causes all physical attacks that can be blocked normally to automatically miss him, with a 25% chance of prematurely ending the buff's effects with every attack he successfully avoids this way.[break][break]
CONSUMABLES[break] Smoke Bomb: A small spherical capsule, filled with a cutting-edge powder compound which creates a thick blinding smokescreen when exposed to oxygen, blanketing a large area of space and briefly obscuring vision. Offers instant and immediate escape from a battle.[break][break]
HEALING MAGIC[break] Cure: A weak healing spell for mending superficial injuries, like bruises, cuts, and scrapes. A single target recovers a small amount of health. Also inflicts minor amounts of damage to undead enemies.[break] Cura: An intermediate healing spell for repairing wounds of much greater scale, like fractures, lacerations, and deep tissue abrasions. A single target recovers a moderate amount of health. Also inflicts moderate amounts of damage to undead enemies.[break] Curaga: An advanced healing spell for fixing significant amounts of physical trauma, including broken or shattered bones, ruptured organs, and damaged nerve tissue. A single target recovers a large amount of health. Also inflicts large amounts of damage to undead enemies.[break] Esuna: A restorative healing spell for purging invasive or harmful afflictions from the body. Eliminates most negative status effects from a target, with the exception of Frozen, Imp, and Zombie.[break] Regen: A curative spell for supplementing bodily vitality. Permit the gradual restoration of a target's health over a set period of time. Against undead targets, this spell will instead gradually sap away what little organic constitution they have left. [break][break]
ATTACK MAGIC[break] Banish: A spell that folds the fabric of space inward to completely erase opponents from the boundaries of existence. Warps a target to another dimension, permanently removing them from battle. Also works against the undead. Against player controlled characters, this spell will either carry a risk of failure, or simply deposit them to a different location at the full discretion of that character's player. If an opponent should have access to a final attack of some nature, i.e. a move or ability meant to be used on the verge of death, casting this spell will momentarily delay its activation or use. [break][break]
EFFECT MAGIC[break] Stop: A spell that enables temporal manipulation. Halts the flow of time around a single target, afflicting the Stop ailment and preventing them from moving or taking any actions. The effect is not permanent, and can be reasonably expected to wear off in as little as fifteen minutes, or as long as several hours at the very most.[break] Teleport: A spell that permits the instantaneous transfer of matter between two separate locations. Offers immediate and effortless escape from dungeons and battles. [break][break]
COMMAND ABILITY: THROW[break] Shadow can throw a variety of weapons and items at a target to inflict heavy physical damage, potentially more than he could with a standard melee attack. Whatever Shadow throws this way ignores the target's Defense and cannot be blocked except by the most skilled opponents (read: other player controlled characters). Throwing objects with a latent status effect or elemental property will enable Shadow to draw out these characteristics and express them as part of the attack itself; e.g., throwing a Mage Masher could potentially inflict Silence if it strikes the foe. While there are many types of weapons that are specially designed for throwing, Shadow has access to an even more unique arsenal of tools—these being an assorted variety of shurikens and magic scrolls—that afford him significant flexibility and lethality during missions. Under most circumstances, weapons and items thrown with this ability are exhausted or consumed in some respect, which removes it from the thrower's inventory in the process.[break][break]
UNIQUE PROPERTY: INTERCEPTOR[break] Shadow is vigilantly protected at all times by Interceptor, a male Pinscher hound who serves as the assassin's trusted companion, watchful guardian, and attack dog. With the sole exception being that of Relm Arrowny, and the other Returners to a lesser extent, Interceptor is only friendly with Shadow, and expresses nothing short of rabid contempt for everyone else. He has purposely taken to claiming the dog eats strangers, as a joke.[break][break]
Whenever his master is attacked by a physical blow that could be evaded or dodged, Interceptor may find an opportunity to rush in and completely block the incoming attack, preventing Shadow from taking any damage in the process. Following this, there is an additional chance that he will counterattack Shadow's enemy with a technique of his own, both of which inflict non-elemental magic damage. These are Wild Fang, a brutal biting attack done with Interceptor's powerful teeth and jaws, and Takedown, a suppressive maneuver that either aims to incapacitate his target or neutralize it outright.[break][break]
DESPERATION ATTACK: SHADOW FANG[break] Usable only when Shadow is critically wounded or at Death's door, he calls Interceptor to his side so that they can both subsequently assault a single target with a masterful combination of lethal ripping strikes, dealing non-elemental magic damage and inflicting the Sap status, which causes additional health loss at gradual intervals until the ailment is properly removed.

[attr="class","ion-heart"] You are only as good as your last battle.
The esteemed Marshal of the Crownsguard royal military, the illustrious reputation and exploits of Cor Leonis have long since preceded his own name. Hailed as one of the best fighters in the Kingdom of Lucis, it is his unfailing ability to complete any assignment handed to him, along with his uncanny capacity for escaping the jaws of death unscathed, that earned him global recognition as "The Immortal", an epithet he considers distasteful.[break][break]
Cor's service to the royal family stretches as far back as the reign of Mors Lucis Caelum, having enlisted with the Crownsguard at the young age of 13 years old, yet his unwavering fealty to both crown and country has its roots in the friendship he shared with the King's son, Regis, who Cor traveled and fought alongside over thirty years ago. He offers this same loyalty to Prince Noctis out of lasting gratitude for Regis, and also extends his counsel to the people he would call friends and companions.[break][break]
The successes attributed to Cor's life are all ironically defined by failure: his loss to the ancient spirit of the Blademaster played a crucial role in the formation of his military career, and his decision to follow the orders of his King on the night Insomnia was attacked by the Niflheim Empire ended with the Marshal being unable to save Regis from death. He would relive this pain once again after learning that His Majesty's son, Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, had been swallowed by the Crystal within the bowels of Zegnautus Keep.[break][break]
After the Long Night fell over Eos, Cor was among the small handful of people who banded the remaining vestiges of humanity together against the coming daemon tides, using his many years of expertise to ensure mankind's continued survival. With all that said, catching forty winks in the middle of an apocalypse was effectively a pipe dream.[break][break]
So, imagine Cor's surprise when he wakes up to discover the world is no longer collapsing around him.[break][break]
More worrying than this, however, is the fact that it is clearly not his own.
ALLIES SOME DAYS, SOME NIGHTS; SOME LIVE, SOME DIE
Growing up under impoverished conditions without the support of his parents or peers, Cor quickly learned to become self-reliant from an early age, and his enlistment into the Crownsguard at thirteen years old shaped this sense of independence into the distinctive arrogance that later came to underscore the beginning of his career. Overzealous commitment to the military lifestyle encouraged Cor to show resistance to ideas like camaraderie and trust until he was called upon to accompany then-Prince Regis Lucis Caelum and his royal entourage on a diplomatic mission to Altissia.[break][break]
His experiences beyond the walls of Insomnia gradually softened Cor's attitude towards friendship over time, and while he still remains difficult to socialize with on account of unyielding focus and dedication towards the job, he freely and openly espouses the virtues of building good rapport with allies and companions alike, and encourages those who would try to presume otherwise to reconsider going it alone.[break][break]
Cor's exhaustive background as a soldier and leader means he is often looked to for guidance and wisdom, a function he tries to fulfill with tempered enthusiasm, as he believes it is his responsibility to ensure that anyone who follows his orders are given as much help as they need to guarantee that the task gets accomplished.[break][break]
ADVERSARIES IN THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI
It is often lonely at the top, or so the old saying goes.[break][break]
Being possessed of outstanding martial caliber leaves very little room for sporting rivalries or competition to blossom. Hailed as a prodigy above prodigies since the day he first started fighting, Cor's skill for combat is so unprecedented, it isn't entirely certain whether his official performance evaluation records are either grossly exaggerated or alarmingly understated.[break][break]
Needless to say, such a highly prolific reputation is practically guaranteed to attract unwanted attention now and again. Much to his perpetual chagrin, Cor seems to collect enemies like how a dumpster collects garbage.[break][break]
Cor has had over thirty years to put distance between himself and the hubris of his youth, and, as such, he no longer seeks to cause problems with people that rub him the wrong way, nor does he see the value in settling disputes through senseless violence. Being leader of the Crownsguard also means he must command through example; diplomacy and negotiation are the most valuable tools in Cor's arsenal for this, and if he can get somebody to see reason before tensions flare, then a situation never obtains the chance to turn into a problem thereafter.[break][break]
But heaven help whoever wants to get hostile with the Marshal, because Cor shows no tolerance for thoughtless aggression anymore. He will waste no time in subduing a violent personality if he is forced to defend himself, or somebody who is unable to stay out of harm's way.[break][break]
ATTACHMENTS SOME FIGHT, SOME BLEED, SUN UP TO SUN DOWN
Will be added soon.
COMBAT DOSSIER THE SONS OF A BATTLECRY
SPELLS[break] During the rule of King Regis, Cor once had the privilege of being able to make use of the royal magic, and demonstrated these powers with incredible mastery. When Regis was killed in the attack on Insomnia, Cor gradually lost his ability to wield magic until his capacity for it had vanished entirely when Noctis later disappeared inside the Crystal.[break][break]
Rather than impair his prowess, however, the absence of magic merely highlights Cor's prodigious gift for swordsmanship.[break][break]
As usual, he regards the loss of these powers with casual indifference.[break][break]
ABILITIES[break] Might: Not officially named such, but rather a tongue-in-cheek allusion to the effects this ability confers. Cor will surround himself in a sinister aura of red energy that not only empowers the strength and force of his attacks, but also renders them unblockable for a temporary period. It is currently unknown if this is a magic spell granted by his link to the royal family or a skill learned through intensive training. He still has yet to elaborate. [break][break]
WEAPONS[break] Kotetsu: Cor's trusted katana, an exotic weapon with origins beyond the shores of Lucis. Although it harbors no special enhancements, this sword's razor-sharp edge has been the agent of many a legendary feat.[break] Kikuichimonji: A companion sword to Kotetsu, given near-identical trappings. Traditionally a melee weapon, this compact blade flies true when thrown, making it deadly in both close range combat and from a distance. [break][break]
ACCESSORIES[break] Carbon Bangle: A bangle forged in carbon steel. Offers a nominal increase to maximum HP.[break] Niella Bracelet: A bracelet made of polished black stone with exquisite gold marbling. Possibly a keepsake from someone precious to the wearer.[break] Protective Amulet: A nondescript pendant cast in pewter, its corners rounded from years of handling. Could be worn as a safeguard against negative influences. [break][break]
ATTIRE[break] Crownsguard Fatigues: The official battle garb of the Lucian Crownsguard, commissioned through Roen. The fabrics are supple and dense enough to protect the wearer and increase their health. Removing the tailored jacket affords breathability to the upper body and offers an increase to strength, instead. [break][break]
TECHNIQUE: LION'S ROAR[break] Cor lunges forward a short distance before unleashing a mighty drawing slash with Kotetsu, sending forth a wide vertical shockwave that strikes any enemy it connects with in a straight line. When performing a critical hit, Cor instead rises upward before returning to the earth with a downward slice. Under ideal conditions, this Technique could potentially cleave even the toughest of enemies in two, although Cor is just as likely to tell you that it isn't normally capable of causing such damage.[break][break]
