"A Moment of Clarity"
"I can't put my finger on it..."
The mention of Snow doing more than shape up, left Lumina to visibly look unconvinced, with all the flair a diva could give to such. Though Serah wasn't wrong, he'd done...well, if she ignored the pinning and wishing he did when not seen by the people he was to lead. Sure, yet she wasn't giving Serah or him that pass right now. She did have a reputation to maintain!
"Is this what Mom would have wanted, yes, no questions. Will she rely on you, at times but she probably doesn't want to be a burden to her precious LITTLE big Sis. Hmm, if you're too harsh she absolutely would hide things from you." Lumina handles the question with finesse, given who it was they were talking about. She was kind of an expert.
"You are, it works out really well. I'm sure others see it and the both of us appreciate it. Now, whether Snow will appreciate it...I can't wait to find out~" might as well get her self ready for another round, she was FAR too eager for it. In this anticipation, she'd certainly slipped up.
"...Yes." she admits, begrudgingly but gracefully. The smugness was unbelievable, a bitter taste of one's own medicine and it left Lumina pale! Granted it was clear she was listening, judging by how her eyes darted between Serah and just, anything, in an effort to find some place to hide from this, instead of being vulnerable.
"If...if he was older, I think I'd be fine. In general, I think...I'd want someone older. I'm not expecting...five hundred, just age of consent for one, plus a few years extra...so twenties, like---" she wanted to say 'me' and she stopped herself, biting her bottom lip. Left to contemplate it, Serah's remarks about her own age...or lack of it, due to being a spirit...Well, it got Lumina thinking.
Lightning or well, a good portion of herself, was within crystal sleep. Serah got to sleep inside her, yet true enough...Snow, herself and the others...were living those centuries on the ground. On the other hand, they hadn't physically aged...but was age strictly physical or was it clearly mental, too? This struggle left Lumina searching for clarity.
"That said...I'll tell him, well...I do want to be friends and I enjoy our time together. That counts for a lot, I feel." the older Farron didn't have a clue as to how she was going to proceed in this, besides to try and talk it out, with as little time jargon as she could. After that, she'd see how he felt.
"D-deeper, er no, no! It's...W-when a friend gives you a good name that forges a bond, i-it's like that!" she could swear she was just babbling now, which drove her embarassment up to new heights and her exasperation followed. Complete with furrowed eyebrows and a new, thunderous storm cloud for Serah to contend with. Though, she was certainly in a good mood, it was just the indecisiveness as she searched for the precise, effective, cool way to say it...that didn't come easy!
Really, she was still reeling from the 'girl your age' and 'interested in boys' bit. Any more damage like this and her brain would short circuit! Thankfully a new window of opportunity opened. Lumina proverbially dived through it and... "Actually, I can see you with some armour. Maybe not full plate but something sensible, with some flair in a...dorky way, yeah. I'm expecting it at this point."
SAFE~
Now, as it so happened, since she was regaining her sensibilities. She had intentionally given Serah a focus and by golly, she was going to ride this train! Making sure to fill Serah's schedule across various facets would be just what Dr. Farron ordered. So, the coup de grace, was naturally the mission. She'd take time to think on that after she gained some insights on her own problems. Memories that were freshly surfacing and not stopping in the least.
How did Lumina know about Aoede, she was there. Yet she couldn't explain that to Serah, nor was she sure that she should. So, she gave her sister a coy grin. Followed by one such stoic grunt, "...It's complicated, leave it to me." she'd say in her best Lightning voice and with a bit of magic, she did indeed sound just like her. Channeling that part of her was becoming easy...well when she set her mind out to it, that was usually how it was. Ah but this was different. Easy as in, effortless!
"This won't be easy. Taking over guardianship will be fine, I do that already. Plus it's nice having a twin sister." translation: Ah, being able to do what I didn't before is great and two heads are better than one. Double trouble~
Being called MOM made her laugh. "You tend to do that a lot, the Mom thing. At this rate you're going to beat me to expanding the family. I'll have to double your errands if I want to stay ahead on that." clearly though, even as she had a knowing glint in her eyes, she wasn't interested in being the first to Motherhood...since she'd kind of won that bout just for being Serah's keeper. Also, everyone knew Aunt's had more fun. It was fashionable! further translation: Finding a partner is hard work, I need to set a good example here, so of course I'll take my time.
"Haha, you'll...grow into the coolness...probably." no translation required here, surely.
"I do have a specific one or two, as you've guessed. Well, the first is to stop whomever is disrupting my supply chain. Not an easy task, my core products are above board but I do have one operation that's...erm, illegal in Sonora. Which leads to my second errand, it's easy to get blackmailed when pushing that second product and I feel like other people are going to get entangled in this. Namely those of us from another world. See if you can get ahead of it, remember though, no unnecessary risks, if it gets dangerous I'll get off this cozy bench."
