Mikoto had not expected an explanation about someone who had no relevance to their current situation. But, Yuffie gave her one anyway. A very long explanation. Mikoto stared - half-lidded and deadpan - still not really sure who this guy was? Shinra proved the stronger group of humans that defeated her people. Apparently, Yuffie was keen to reluctantly listen to her ‘dad’. What was that? It sounded like an authority figure who, in this case, lost to Shinra because he gave Yuffie the wrong task. Mismanagement of people resources was always fatal.

However, Mikoto’s eyes lit up at the mention of materia. This was the second time she heard of it. She hoped to glean enough information on these ‘magickal rocks’. “What kind of magic can they do?” She asked, her tail swaying curiously. She tried to think back about what Hojo told her and what they were. It seemed Yuffie also had no hardship about stealing materia either. Especially since it would, theoretically, help her people regain what was lost to Shinra. How powerful were these stones? She needed to see one for herself. Maybe Kuja knew how to research it and break down its components…

And Yuffie’s rationale seemed rather sound. Take the easier route to obtain what one needs to perform their job. Unfortunately, it did leave much room for error when targeting randomly. Even worse, Yuffie did not do what she set out to do but joined those she would steal from. Mikoto was confused…Was Yuffie saving her village or the world? Both? How did this have to do with now?

Instead she listened as Yuffie claimed she was summoner ninja’s. Mikoto’s eyes narrowed. It seemed they were not able to summon with materia. Her eyes widened in interest. If this materia could summon, then could it manipulate time? “Cloud?” She asked curiously. She pointed at the sky to the clouds beyond the cliff’s edge. “They give you orders and equipment?” Is that where she got materia. She narrowed her eyes at the cloud. Is that where she needed to reach to get magic rocks?

Mikoto still did not understand honor either. “I don’t understand what is wrong with machines and science?” Her tail swayed. “You work to your strengths. They worked to theirs.” Terra knew a direct fight was not going to work in terraforming the planet. They were indirect.

When Mikoto struggled with words, it took a moment to comprehend Mikoto and the paper. Mikoto's tail swayed in contentment as Yuffie understood. Good. That would make things easier. Yuffie said she would be off to find the parts and Mikoto gave a head nod. Excellent.

“And a place for us to build.” Surely they have some sort of area for them to set up. “Yuffominator?” Was that supposed to be a reference to something? She turned back to the line. There were only three more people ahead of her.

Mikoto signed some papers, though it seemed they could not read the glyphs she wrote down. They had her say her name and someone else wrote it down phonetically. Once she did so, she started to search for a place to build. The lady at the booth pointed out that there were some sheds set up and available for anyone who claimed them on a first come first served basis. So, Mikoto did just that. She scoped out some of the available huts that were erected to keep mechanical parts out of the elements. They had a pile of parts lying in the corner, as well as a base to start building upon.

Mikoto took a quick inventory of what was available to her, then she started to sketch her design. Or at least tried to. What was the best robot in this situation? It would need to be fast and maneuverable. It would have to hit hard enough to damage. But what kind of damage. Mikoto stared at the thick, blank paper.
