If not for his mistake all those years ago, the world of Nova Chrysalia would never have been born. Corrupted by Chaos from the Unseen Realm, it had taken the place of Gran Pulse, a world which he destroyed with his own hands. Though he had started to lay down that particular burden, it still gnawed at him, rate away at whatever residence he managed to build, to strip away the little hope he managed to hold onto.

He had then tried to kill Lightening, but in the end he made the right decision. It would be better to perhaps never see his beloved Yeul again than to make yet another mistake, but then she had appeared. Once again, he had something to go on for, but now even that had been stripped away by his arrival into yet another new world.

This world had not been consumed by Chaos, but the fact remained that it was full of corruption and selfish people who thought nothing of sacrificing the lives and livelihoods of others for personal gain. It was like the world that his grandmother once spoke of in old stories, a world so full of hatred that it tore itself apart. For that reason, Cocoon had fallen and it had only taken just a few centuries after that for it all to end.

He balled his fists as he thought of how every time he tried to put things right, something always seemed to go wrong. Instead of saving the world, he destroyed it, but here that meant nothing. Here, he had gone back to his vigilante ways, to rid the streets of those who would exploit those who wished to live in peace. They would never thanks him, quite the opposite as there was distrust and even hatred of those like him who did not belong in this world, but what else could he do?

Unclenching his palms, he walked the streets openly for once, remembering that he had promised to stop living in the shadows. At least, permanently. Besides, a walk out was maybe what he needed to get to know the place and it's people some more. At least here, despite the corruption within the city's seedy underbelly, there was some kind of hope. Maybe if he looked hard enough, he might even find a reason to not hate it here so much. It would never be home, but for so long as he could do some good in this world, he would stay.
