Nick would see the waitress come by and place a bowl of soup right in front of him, saying in reply "Thank you so much." as he picked up his spoon gently and ate a small spoonful of it. He would hear here mention how secretive her people were and how rare it was that they would travel beyond the borders of Cornelia. It was rather interesting to him.
When he heard Larelin mention there was nothing wrong with having a quiet life, he nodded in agreement as he said "Aye, there is indeed nothing wrong with it. A quiet life is usually a simple life." He would continue to listen to what she would have to say. He was certainly enjoying this conversation with her as he gently ate another spoonful of soup. The soup itself was rather satisfying, it wasn't too bad.
Upon being asked about what spells he knew so far, the young teenage red-mage in training replied with, "Spells? I know only two spells so far: Fire and Protect. Those were the only spells I was taught before my mother's demise. Never got any further in my studies after that. But I still vow to become a good Red Mage." She then mentioned that she couldn't lend him a hand if he was more inclined to White Magic. Honestly, he didn't mind learning both Black and White magic since his mother had told him in the past a Red Mage works with those two types of magic and that a Red Mage who is a master at their craft could cast some very powerful spells if they practice enough.
Then upon her mentioning a place called Torensten, he was rather curious about that location and asked "Torensten? What is that place?" as he took another spoonful of his soup.
