Tellah was in need of a drink, or twenty. And to sleep for at least an entire day. But more than anything, he needed a conversation with one of his oldest and dearest friends. What better location for such a meeting than at The Hero’s Haven? After all, Tellah had been instrumental in saving the Pale Coast from the storms that had plagued it after the water crystal was corrupted. It was that mission that precipitated his need for some R&R and a therapy session with a man who had been through his own hell time and time again. [break][break]
Every time he tried to sleep, Anna’s face swam before him. He knew it wasn’t really her, but it had felt just like her, sounded just like her. The tremble of betrayal in her voice when she’d spoken to him had gutted him. How was he supposed to continue on in this strange new world, away from everything he’d known, with that memory plaguing him daily. How was he supposed to forget and move on, knowing he’d helped cause her death? Knowing that she might be somewhere blaming him for all eternity… [break][break]
Tellah didn’t think he’d cried as much in his entire life as he’d cried after returning victorious from the water shrine. He had been hailed as a hero, a savior of Torensten. But he only felt like a failure, like the worst father in existence. Why should he live on, gaining fame and fortune, while his daughter was still dead? Almost forgotten in another world. The elderly sage stared out across the gentle waves, trying to be calmed by the beautiful sight. Sea breezes ruffled his beard and pulled at his long, curly hair. He sat on the edge of the bar deck, away from most of the crowd. There weren’t too many vacationers at the resort right now, or at least not ones that were awake early. But Tellah couldn’t sleep well, so he’d awoken with the sun and journeyed down here to watch the waves and drink tropical flavored tea. [break][break]
