Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. With the smell of blood still lingering in the air, you’ve been tasked with searching the manor for clues and suspects. ”He was a scholar,” the butler claims. ”He would want his death solved and his work found. I’m afraid it will be lost to the house forever.”
He doesn’t know anything about the whereabouts of his master’s research nor does he have any leads on the murder. Someone must have wanted it for themselves. Someone in the house. Perhaps one of you.
The manor could be dangerous, he warns. The killer is still on the loose, and two guests have already been spirited away. You must stay in groups for your own protection. If you’re to stray, well, who knows what might happen?
Lumina, Vincent, Rufus, and Garnet are sent to the Parlor Room. The room is dark and lit only by the flickering shadows of a robust fireplace. Rain strikes the windows in an endless barrage. Every now and then, the grounds are lit by a strike of lightning that shakes the house in a deafening boom. Before you are three suede couches set into a semi-circle around the fireplace. To one side is a grand piano with the back raised and the keys exposed. Bookshelves line the walls along the opposing wall. All is quiet but for the storm and the low crackle of the fire.
As the shock wears off, each of them notice something about themselves. Lumina’s shoes are wet with some kind of thick, blue-green liquid. Glass dust shimmers on her skirt. Vincent’s cloak is uncomfortably damp. His golden shoes are tarnished with mud. Rufus’ shoulder aches with an emerging bruise. The back of his skull is sensitive to the touch and slightly sticky with blood. Was he knocked unconscious? Garnet feels that her magic has been drained. She either healed heavy wounds or summoned Ramuh recently.

Garnet had regretted coming to the party the moment she had arrived. It had all felt... so very familiar to the stifling life she had known at Alexandria Castle. One that she still endured, until her recent disappearance, but that she struggled with. It was difficult to smile into the faces of servants and sip wine in a ballgown when you had seen what she had seen, done what she had done, and despite the Count apparently calling them to the manor to discuss their situation, Garnet did not like how everything felt so exclusive and formal, as if they were cutting out those who didn't matter. As if she had been invited because her station, not because she could help.
Of course, it also raised the question how the Count knew who she was...
There had been some relief. Faris had been there, and Garnet was definitely pleased to see him. The presence of the pirate captain made her feel more at ease; less like she had regressed back to the girl who only knew upper class parties that she had been before, and more that she was still part of some ongoing adventure. Gau, the strange child, too, made her feel better. Nobody would mistake him for a member of the upper classes.
At first, her biggest concern had been wondering when she had become like this. Was she ashamed of her origin now? Her upbringing? Had her adventures made her resent this sense of people treating her like she was better than other people after all the bravery and nobility she had seen on her travels? She liked to think that she'd never been like, that she had always respected people, no matter who they were, but it bothered her. Maybe she had just grown tired of it, now she had seen what else life could offer.
Either way, she didn't dwell on it for long, because... something happened. She didn't know what. It reminded her of being back in the Evil Forest, being drugged and poisoned, or after the Eidolon extraction, because she collapsed, and before she knew it, an hour of her life was missing, and a man was dead. Worse yet, Faris was one of the guests who was missing. The only person Garnet would have openly felt she could trust.
Instead, she was spirited into a study, with three very strange people. And they had a mystery to solve. She so badly wished that somebody she knew was there. She'd settle for Amarant or Quina! She didn't know these others, and she felt the burden of solving the mystery weighing heavily upon her. What if she didn't find anything? Or made the wrong decision and accused the wrong suspect?
Now was not the time for such thoughts...
She looked to the group. "Uh, h-hello," she said with a nod, curtailing her formal language as best she could. After all her thoughts, she'd be a complete hypocrite if she started talking like a queen now. "I'm... Dagger. I suppose we should... begin searching?" she suggested. She felt slightly odd. A drained sensation she knew well, as if she had been casting spells. But she hadn't cast anything, had she? The last hour was a mystery, but she thought she had been unconscious. Had she tried to heal the poor Count? Or worse, had she fought?
Either way, her White Magic wouldn't help them now. They only had her wits, and she was very worried they weren't up to the task. "I wonder why the piano is open?" she asked curiously, as she approached it and peered inside. She enjoyed music, but had never learned to play herself. It hadn't really seemed appropriate. She wasn't aware that pianos were meant to be stored open, however. Or were they?

[attr="class","vvbody"]Vincent should have never accepted the invitation. He’d known it was the opposite of his scene and yet he’d felt an uncomfortable and unavoidable pull to attend. So he’d shown up. He’d been driven into the monstrous manner in a carriage. He’d watched the imposing Moonwhisper Manor grow closer and closer and with each passing minute, he felt anxiety grow within him. Pins and needles crawled up his arms and his stomach roiled. He kept his face impassive as always and tried his best to ignore the physical signs of unwanted anxiety. But… it was getting to him. [break][break] Shinra Manor. Moonwhisper didn’t look wholly dissimilar. Shinra Manor, where it had all happened. Where he’d fallen in love with and romanced Lucrecia before his whole life came crashing down. Shinra Manor, where Hojo had conducted his evil experiments. And where Vincent had very-nearly died and been reborn as a twisted visage of his old self. And of course, Shinra Manor was where Vincent had spent thirty long years of his life in dormant slumber. That old, terrible house was where everything awful had happened to him.[break][break] As Vincent entered Moonwhisper he became more and more sure he’d made a horrible, terrible mistake. His mask was cracking as the butler ushered him inside. His arms were wrapped tight around himself, fingers digging into his upper arms. His teeth were clenched so tight they hurt. He almost turned and left then. He really, really should have. This was the worst mistake he’d made since coming to Zephon. [break][break] But Jules de Lune greeted the guests before Vincent could turn tail and escape. He’d been forced to focus on the host. And then beyond Jules he’d seen a shockingly familiar face in the crowd of guests. Rufus f-ing Shinra. His jaw certainly opened in astonishment and he paid little mind to the host’s words. Rufus Shinra was here. In this manor house that reminded him eerily of Shinra Manor. And then, despite the edges of his vision threatening to blacken, Vincent was rooted to the spot. He couldn’t leave, not now. [break][break] But then… Something happened and the world went fully dark. Vincent didn’t remember what, his mind was a blank. He only knew that he awoke with dirtied shoes and damp cloak. And with Jules de Lune dead in the center of the room and two guests missing. One was Celes Chere, one of the leaders of the Dragonblades and a woman he respected highly. He hoped she hadn’t met the same dark fate as their host. [break][break] The butler went around dividing the remaining guests into groups to investigate the death of Jules. Vincent was still struggling to keep afloat with his anxiety and mounting panic, especially in light of the recent events. But. Celes was a fellow Dragonblade and he couldn’t just leave her to die in this terrible, dark place. So he tried to steel himself, clutched his hands into fists, and let himself be directed into the Parlor Room. [break][break] There were four of them in there. Two young women he didn’t recognize. Vincent. And. Why? Rufus Shinra was their fourth. Sure, Rufus wasn’t as bad as his father. Sure, they’d even worked together during the Geostigma crisis. But no, Vincent was not in a forgiving or forgetting mood for anyone bearing the cursed name of Shinra right now. He glared across the room at the blond-haired man, wholly and completely distracted from the mission at hand until one of the women spoke. [break][break] With a great deal of effort, Vincent tore his gaze away from Shinra and tried to focus on the girl. She introduced herself as Dagger and suggested they begin searching their room. He took a long, deep steadying breath. That old panic was still there, trying to take him over and he fought against it. He wasn’t sure how much of his internal struggle was written on his face but he feared his companions could see his turmoil. “Vincent,” he said shortly, by way of introduction. Dagger gravitated towards the open piano. Vincent turned and looked at the bookshelves lining the walls. He tried to focus and read the spine labels. Would there be any clues here, anything out of place or amiss? Maybe even a cliched secret lever hidden inside a book that doesn’t belong. He tried to see if there was anything that looked suspicious.
Hopefully Lumina doesn't mind taking the fireplace!!
For the first time since arriving in this damnable, strange world, Rufus Shinra felt that he had a shred of a chance at finding out some useful information about how he ended up in such a place.
The ride to Moonrise Manor was bumpy and long. The blonde was tossed from one side of the carriage to another more than once as the chocobo-drawn cart made its way up the slippery slope. Still, despite his already souring mood, Rufus grasped the invitation in his pocket with some vague sense of … Hope, perhaps? Or, maybe it was simply curiosity. It was enough to keep him from requesting to leave during the downpour of the evening as he was escorted inside of the grand building.
Entering an unfamiliar building, even as he cleared the mud from his boots, Rufus’s natural training took over. His blue eyes gazed over the elaborately decorated rooms that he passed as the butler led him to the ballroom. A lot of potential exits, and a lot of ground to cover in his search for anything of use. The size of the manor hardly intimidated him -- as someone who’d spent most of his life in the Shinra building, most buildings paled in comparison.
Rufus entered the ballroom with everyone else, only somewhat curious as to why so many people would have been invited. He hardly had the time to take note of most anyone else, however, as Jules de Lune made himself known. The blonde steeled his gaze, accepting a glass from a server but never taking a sip. He was curious to hear what the oh-so-important de Lune had to say. What secrets he’d uncovered. There was talk of magic and rifts and things that didn’t quite make sense to Rufus Shinra, but could maybe be interpreted by someone else. It was all useful, and while the evening wasn’t going quite how he’d like, there was still some good coming of it.
Well, that was, until he began to feel a tad faint.
His breath hitched in his chest as darkness danced at the edges of his vision. The tips of his fingers began to tingle and feel numb. Was he even still holding the glass? Rufus inwardly cursed, unable to control the movements of his body. What was likely passing in mere seconds felt like an eternity to a man who had been drugged and knocked out on several occasions for practicing what to do in a kidnapping situation.
Everything went dark before he hit the floor.
He was unsure how much time had passed, or even what had happened, when he awoke. Rufus grunted with effort as he pushed himself up from the pristine tile, hissing through his teeth as pain flared in his right shoulder. Had he been attacked? The base of his skull throbbed as he righted himself to his feet, and he rubbed at his neck before pulling his hand away in shock. Blood kissed the fingers of his left hand. He’d been struck with something.
Rufus didn’t have it the worst, though. In front of them all lay Jules de Lune, stabbed through the chest and scorched with magic. Absurd, but … Well, stranger things had happened to the rich and famous. Rufus glanced around, after hearing the panicked whispers. Two others were missing as well, someone named Faris and … Celes Chere. Frowning, Rufus realized he hadn’t noticed the blonde warrior there. It hadn’t been all that long ago since she’d rescued him and they’d taken on the Original Sin together.
She was useful. He needed her not to die, if at all possible.
The butler gathered him and a few others, leading them to the Parlor room as he instructed them how to proceed. Rufus took in the information bit by bit as the pain in his skull began to slightly subside. Everyone in the party had been split up and told to look for clues. The Parlor room was significantly less bright than the ballroom had been, lit only by a roaring fire at the hearth. He was busy taking in the sight, as someone in their group finally peeped a word, and dragged his attention away from the details around the fireplace.
She was a dark haired young woman with a somewhat meek voice. She introduced herself as Dagger; clearly a false name. Rufus watched her silently as she suggested they begin, without another thought. He was less eager to play into their assignment, obviously, considering he’d been attacked.
He took a step forward, before catching the gaze of someone else in the room. Covered in a red cloak and with a mop of dark hair, Rufus almost didn’t see the man. Yet, the man’s red eyes pierced him in a chilly glare -- which didn’t affect him at all. Who didn’t stare down Rufus Shinra with eyes full of hate on any given day? The blonde returned a bored, blue-eyed stare to the man, before the recognition began creeping in.
Right, he was … a part of the pesky Avalanche bunch, right? The quiet one, vampirish looking man. His name was …
Well, of no importance really. Pest was an appropriate enough title. Yet, Tseng had filled him in with some interesting information about the man. He was a former Turk, if he was remembering the long ago conversation correctly.
Vincent, the name left the man’s lips and dropped, as quickly as his glare had. Right, Vincent. Rufus kept his expression cool and neutral, turning his attention away from the caped man as he turned his attention to the bookshelves. Instead, his gaze fell back to Dagger, as she approached the grand piano. She wondered aloud as to why the piano was open, and Rufus bit back his immediate answer.
Pianos were something he actually knew about. He’d been trained on the piano from a young age, practicing songs until his fingers were sore. Rufus had been forced to perform for his father and important guests, as nothing more than a show piece. The girl was peering into the piano, and Rufus felt his feet move. The thought of her diving her hand into the keys and strings without a thought set an icy grip on his heart.
“A grand piano is supposed to be open,” Rufus Shinra murmured to her quietly as he approached the large instrument, fingers ghosting on the keys, “That is how it fills the room with sound.”
He glanced around the soundboard, looking at the inner workings of the beautiful beast. With the semi-darkness of the room, it would be impossible to notice most anything within the guts of the piano. No, if someone had dared to hide something within the piano, it would certainly be tucked away under the hammers or keys.
“Why it was open in an empty room is … of concern,” Rufus told her, touching a key lightly. The mid-toned sound bounced off of the walls of the room.
He met Dagger’s eyes for a moment, before taking a seat at the piano bench, “I’m Rufus.”
He spread his fingers across the keys. Sure, it would have been much easier to step away from the situation as a whole … Perhaps leave the room. But, the sight of the piano kept him grounded, if only for a moment. That, and the enticement of finding some useful research notes. As it was dangerous to keep a piano open all of the time, he had a faint sense of hope that someone had stashed something away inside of it, unknowing that leaving the soundboard open was a clue it had been touched.
“The only way to find something within a piano without destroying it is to play it.”
Rufus pressed down on the keys. A soothing, low chord. He followed it with his right hand, the same chord, two octaves higher. His fingers danced slowly over the ivory keys, a flow of notes in the same key filling the room. He needed to hit every key at some point, but smashing them all would make it too difficult to identify if one was muted or obstructed in the body.
Hopefully, ignoring the pain in his shoulder, something would reveal itself to he and Dagger within the piano. Something, other than the soothing, charming melody he played.

"Mystery"
"Something's not quite right, I sense foul play..."
Lumina had been in shock much longer than anticipated. Effectively her judgement was clouded, her mind elsewhere entirely. Once she'd returned to the present situation, instead of passively following instruction, she was in the parlour room. It was easy to notice the oddities about herself, for she'd been passively looking at herself. Ever perplexed about something that her mind couldn't settle on. It seemed to click when she noted her shoes first. "That's not right..." she spoke to herself softly. Then she noticed her skirt and began to frown. "I'm sure I was dressed differently..." she continued.
After all, one was not invited to a manor very often. This was a home of repute, owned by a man of repute. "Except now, he's dead and we're all here..." Lumina reminded herself as she looked her outfit over carefully. Needless to say, this wasn't the outfit she was supposed to be wearing while mingling. She'd chosen a black ball gown, with alternating layers of white, including the bodice. Her shoes should have been glass slippers but these were her normal pumps.
Clearly, whatever happened, she must have changed outfits but... why? Pondering this, she began to channel chaos, in order to summon a monster. The child of chaos that manifested was a Tonberry, to whom had a jack-o-lantern in lieu of the traditional one and a stylistic chef's knife. "I need you to preserve some evidence for me." she'd say in a hushed voice to the Tonberry. Her left hand gestured to her shoes. Then to the skirt. The shoes would be easy as Lumina slowly took them off so that the Tonberry could store them. For the skirt, it expertly cut the bottom portion of her skirt with skilled precision, preserving the glass dust.
Given she was meant to be wearing glass slippers, she briefly pondered if these remnants were from that or somewhere else. One of many considerations, which left Lumina uncharacteristically unaware of her companions. Worse, her attention wasn't much on the parlour room either. The Tonberry seemed to be more on the ball, waddling about examining the area. In turn, this allows Lumina to sit upon one of the seude couches, gazing into the flickering flames of the fireplace. Lightning outside and it's booming companion, thunder; don't seem to bother the enigmatic mogul. Though she is quite mindful of it and the effects upon the manor itself.
Gazing to the side where the piano and thus her group was, she passively began to study them. It seemed from what little she caught subconsciously, that names were being spoken. "My name is Lumina." she'd say before leaning back along the couch in thought. "None of this makes sense to me..." she mused, hopefully she'd get her head together but there was too many red flags to focus.

Vincent does not find any secret passages -- at least not on first inspection. The books here are well dusted though not particularly well used. You find titles of many topics from the lineage of the de Lune family to the local politics of Provo. They are, for the most part, waiting room material. However, there are a few more interesting collections scattered among the dull histories. There’s a book, for instance, on the old gods of Zephon. Another is titled, ’Theories of the Spirit Road.’ Yet another reads, ’People of the Great Dragon.’
It is too dark to see anything in the piano as Garnet peers inside. The room is lit too inconsistently with the flickering of the fire. However, after a moment’s study, she can make out the glint of something metal inside -- tangled up in the piano strings. Or more accurately attached to them. There’s some kind of device hooked up to the piano.
Music echoes through the room as Rufus plays. It is a haunting, muted melody that stands out in striking chords through the silence. His fingers dance up the keys, and find that a few meet some kind of minor resistance. Four of them, in fact, that give a short click below the note. It is imperceivable to anyone but Rufus who might feel the resistance and Garnet who is the only one close enough to hear the sound.
The tonberry waddles about at Lumina’s command. It doesn’t seem to find anything, but in the lantern light, it becomes more apparent that the family crest engraved into the fireplace is slightly indented.
Adjacent Rooms
Round Room: The opposite door leads to the round room -- or rotunda. The ceiling here is made of domed glass revealing a dark and raging sky. A column stands in the middle of the room, acting as support for the observatory ceiling. The final door leads to the hallway.

The tall blonde man made his way over to her, and began explaining in patronising tones about how a piano worked. She put her hands on her hips and gave a huff in his direction. As if she didn't know that, she had attended plenty of theatre. She just didn't understand why it was stored openly. She felt like saying something, but he moved on to how the only way to find if something was wrong in a piano was to play it, and began to play. She hesitated, because that part she hadn't known. The worry about damaging the piano shocked her slightly, but she realised it was the type of thing she would usually fret about while Zidane or the others wrecked whatever precious object they were looking at. Or at least that's how it felt sometimes. She decided not to say anything for the moment, instead looking inside, where her eyes caught glimpse of an object.
"There's something in here," she told the one who had introduced himself as Rufus. She paused to take stock of her other companions. She jumped a little when a Tonberry appeared, feeling the need to find a weapon, and looking to the others to see if they were ready to fight. She knew a Tonberry was no joke, but this one didn't seem to be causing any problems. The man in the cloak was examining the books, something which part of Garnet wished she had chosen to do instead. Books, especially books written on another world, were bound to be fascinating. But fascinating didn't solve murders. Somebody had been killed, and there was every possibility that somebody else could be killed before the end if she didn't do something. Her priority had to be solving the murder, not indulging her own curiosity.
Her eyes returned to the piano. She removed one of her gloves so that she might be better able to reach inside and remove whatever it was. She looked to Rufus, not keen on him still hammering on the keys while her hand went inside. She didn't imagine it felt pleasant being struck by one of those moving strings. "Stop playing a moment. I'm going to try and remove it," she explained, reaching inside.

He pulled ‘Theories of the Spirit Road’ off the shelf in a cloud of dust and began to flip through the pages. It was the title that seemed most interesting and obscure. It didn’t fit the mold of the dull de Lune lineage books nestled around it. Perhaps there was something of note hidden within its pages. [break][break] As he was flipping through the book, Vincent heard Dagger and Rufus speak at the piano. He turned with a narrow-eyed stare and watched the heir to Shinra play a haunting tune on the keys. Vincent didn’t hear anything amiss with the notes, but apparently they did. Dagger looked ready to reach into the inner workings of the piano to find something hidden there. [break][break] The fourth member of their party was a woman who at first seemed unremarkable to Vincent. He’d barely spared her a second glance, especially when she muttered about a change of outfit. But then, as he was about to move towards the door to leave the parlor, tonberry of all things suddenly appeared. It seemed almost as if the woman had summoned it… but how? Vincent’s hand went to his gun out of habit and instinct, but the little green creature didn’t seem hostile. It had something to do with the strange pink-haired woman who introduced herself as Lumina.[break][break] Vincent watched with a mixture of fascination and trepidation as the tonberry wandered around the room, seeming to follow Lumina’s bidding. The woman, for her part, lounged on the suede couch seemingly unconcerned with helping them look around. [break][break] He moved to open the door to the adjacent room, leaving Rufus and Dagger to look further into the piano. The door creaked open and the sounds of the raging storm seemed amplified. A glance up showed him a roof of glass with a clear view of the raging sky above. The room seemed mostly empty but he looked around anyway, focusing on the column in the center, before passing through and opening the door beyond.
The sound bounces off of the walls, the tall ceiling of the parlor room, twisting what should have been a pleasant melody into something haunting and chilling. Despite the change in tone, Rufus continued onward, his fingers gracing each ivory key as he played until -- nothing. Resistance. It was closer to the middle C, having eluded him as he played on the highest and lowest octaves to start. Cautiously, as his left hand continued the melody he played from heart, the blonde tapped at the surrounding keys.
Two ivory, two black, each nothing but a silent tap. Something was caught in those strings.
Dagger, who had been observing the inside of the piano as he played, instructed him to stop. Whatever was inside of the piano was stuck between the strings and hammers. Rufus let his hands drop from the piano, instead allowing one to come to his sore shoulder and massage at the aching tissue there. People underestimated the amount of near-full body movement that came with playing a grand piano. He took a moment before pushing the bench out, rising from his place at the great instrument.
During his tiny concert, their last member had introduced herself as Lumina, and had made some sort of small-talk with someone behind him. He hadn’t acknowledged her at first, too busy searching for a clue that would keep the precious piano from being gutted, but he turned to, at least, give her a once over. Instead, what met his eyes was a Tonberry. Briefly stunned, Rufus immediately tried to move back, instead running his backside into the keys of the piano. He cursed softly, grimacing as the horrid chord of notes rang within his already aching skull. He muttered a swift and emotionless apology to Dagger, on the off-chance she’d been thumped by one of the wooden hammers.
Rufus stepped to the side of the piano, putting distance between himself and the sudden Tonberry. Though it didn’t hold a knife, he had absolutely no intention of being maimed by such a beast while there was already one murder afoot. Where the hell had it even come from? The blonde narrowed his gaze at the young woman sprawled out comfortably on the suede couch, who seemed much less unconcerned about the events currently transpiring.
Moving to the back of the piano, Rufus observed the room as a whole while Dagger figured out what was going on inside of the instrument. Vincent Valentine had stepped out, moving into the next room. The temptation to follow him was strong -- he’d rather make a swift exit -- but at the same time, he’d like to know who beat him over the head. Rufus kept a close eye on the Tonberry as it made its way around the room, when he noticed something in the lantern light.
Not that he’d go inspect it. It was too close to the damn murder machine.
“The crest above the fireplace is dented,” Rufus muttered, glancing back to the only useful person in the room; Dagger, “I doubt a man who keeps his mansion orderly would stand for such a thing to hang in front of pleasant company. It must have just happened.”
Was it a clue? Or useless information? He couldn’t be sure, for the moment.

"Something's not quite right, I sense foul play..."
It was a wonder what Rufus would have said or done, if he'd witnessed the Tonberry's entire course of action. After all, it did have a knife, one that rivaled the finest in the Manor's kitchen. Fortunately, this Tonberry was a bit of a quick draw, with a sleight of hand that concealed much. There was no need to further startle Lumina's... "friends", so it was content to keep it's Jack-o-lantern about. Not finding much initially, it did seem to find a potential clue. Alas, Tonberry wasn't the fastest of monsters. Thus it had to waddle back to Lumina, where it was welcomed with open arms upon jumping up to her lap.
In a very animated, almost humorous moment, the two seemed to 'talk'. Only there was no words, as if this was a silent slapstick in action. At this point, Vincent had slipped out to the other room and Rufus had taken notice of what Tonberry uncovered. "Got it." she spoke finally after the unusual act. Thus both the pink haired young woman turned to Dagger and Rufus near the piano. Particularly Dagger, as they waited for her to pull out whatever it was inside. Only then, did Lumina rise up from the couch and walk over to the fire place with Tonberry cradled in her arms. Looking over the family crest, Lumina crouches slightly in order to study it. It was indeed indented and thus Tonberry with its seeming free hand, would push the sigil in further, to see if there was indeed a hidden entrance.
After all, don't these special rooms, always seem to be around a fireplace~? Lumina would take a moment, anticipating something but if nothing meaningful came, she wouldn't mind too much. There was the matter of the books, which were searched earlier to no avail. Lastly, there was...whatever was hidden in the piano to consider too. If the fireplace wasn't the switch directly. Perhaps the indent was meant to fit an object onto it. That possibility would be something she'd consider too.
"I would advise against moving around too much. Your bodies are also clues, unless you have memory pf what happened earlier?" Lumina sure didn't and it was taking her awhile to come to grips with things. Once she was sufficiently warmed up, her brilliant mind, chaotic as it might seem, would get to work!
