Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

"...Why did you leave me, Zell?"
There was a simple answer to her question; at least the answer he gave her before. Zell wanted to know where he actually came from and why he was on Zephon. There was nothing else to it, or so he thought.
"Well, like I said before," he said, reiterating his past statement on the matter, "I wanted to know who I am and where I came from. I couldn't get that if I stayed here..."
Zell never truly put too much thought into why he left. The desire to reclaim his lost memories felt like it was enough, but now it seemed like there was another factor that he never considered. Perhaps that was what Lumina was truly trying to understand.
"I do feel guilty for leaving the way I did. That's why I came back." His admittance was delivered with slump shoulders and a sigh. "When you found out that I wanted to leave, you didn't respond well. It was... odd, ya know?"
Zell was referencing the sudden clinginess that Lumina showed when she found out that Zell was going to leave after they first arrived at Provo. It didn't sit well with him, but he ultimately decided that there may have been some emotional wounds that afflicted the pink haired girl. This would be verified later with the encounter between Serah and Lumina.
"Am I going to stay here?" the SeeD asked, straightening himself up and giving his companion a sympathetic look. "I'll stick around on Zephon with you as long as I need to. But when it comes to going home, we're leaving at the first chance we get. Together."

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Zell had attempted to explain why he left and Lumina listened, though it was clear on her face that she thought there was more to it. On the other hand, she didn't seem to want to pry either. Instead, she knew what she could do, clear up a misunderstanding between them. Knowing her own emotions and how chaotic they could be at times, it was easy to imagine mixed signals. That's where she'd speak up first.
"Oh...my response huh? Weeeeelll~" she laughed, a bit embarrassed but it was much more lighthearted now. "Somehow you defied the odds, Zell. The truth is, I've had some experience helping people remember things and dealing with amnesia. The way you spoke, back in the Inn, it reminded me of your desire to go back home when we were in Sonora. Honestly? It felt like you wanted to get back home right away and if you couldn't do it, I was worried you'd become very discouraged. If the gods summoned us here, then they have their own plans for us." she explained the real source of her feelings and why she was uncomfortable. The idea of Zell becoming despondent or miserable after months of trying to get his memories back, she imagined it back then and it hurt her.
This time, when Zell gave her a rather straight forward answer, she wasn't going to make the same mistake as last time. She smiled and nodded in agreement."Of course, as soon as we can. I didn't work as hard as I did for nothing you know~?" she decided to remind him, to make it clear that all of what she did, was genuinely for him.
"Just promise me that while we're here, you try to enjoy life okay? I wasted a lot of my life in pursuit of one specific goal, losing sight of the people around me. We're here and on the agenda of the gods, for now anyway." she admitted before continuing, "Also, if you do need to go somewhere or you want to split up for awhile. Please tell me first, it'd be very irresponsible of me, if I didn't at least give you some gil for the road." she gave him a stern look now before being unable to maintain such composure for long.
"Lastly, if you're serious about protecting me, I have very high standards for my protector~! I'm a trained soldier after all, I know what to look for." she stated after placing her right hand over her heart.

If you don't fight for what you want, don't cry for what you lost.
Lumina gave her explanation as to why she clung to him so much when they first arrived at Provo. Some of it, he believed. Other parts, not so much. But that didn't change the fact that they had faced difficulties together, and that they spent quite some time in each other's company. Besides, Lumina was not the worst person that Zell has spent time with.
"Okay," he said, accepting her explanation. Lumina also wanted reassurance that he would enjoy his the time they had together on Zephon while it lasted, as well as to let her know next time that he would be heading out on his own. Both requests were responded with a nod and a smile.
Lastly, Lumina made a joking remark about having high standards for being protected. "I'll have you know," he said jokingly, too, "that I am a SeeD! At least, back home I was. That means I'm an elite mercenary that gets hired to do the most dangerous and special missions." Zell struck a pose with his closed fists on each side of his waist. "I don't accept handouts of Gil. If you wanna pay me, then you will need to do so by purchasing my services as a bodyguard!"
There were two reasons Zell approached the situation in this manner. First, he did not like the idea of mooching off of Lumina. The SeeD's traveled both space and time to defeat the biggest threat to his world, after all. He could be self sufficient, damnit! If she was going to give him money, then it would be for him doing his job.
The second reason was to give himself a title for tagging along with his friend. Bodyguard would suffice, at least until they returned to his world. He'd have to see how things went from there. As for the current situation, Zell held out a hand to Lumina, intending to shake on his offer.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
It was quite a relief to explain her feelings, as far as she'd reflected on them, to Zell finally. Even in her recollection, she hadn't realized there must have been more to her reaction. After all, wasn't it natural to worry about a friend making a similar mistake that you made? In her mind at least, it absolutely was and there was nothing else to it~!
After Zell accepted her explanation and in turn, she got him to promise not to make the mistakes she worried about some months back. Playful banter began regarding Zell protecting her. In truth, she didn't think she needed protection really. Rather, more protection, given she could summon Monsters. However, thinking about it, it wasn't always advantageous to call forth one of the children of chaos. Monsters tended to cause commotion after all. Zell then offered the kind of protection that was practical. Especially given he was an elite mercenary. That genuinely made her smile with amusement. It certainly explained his skill after all.
The playful banter took an interesting turn when Zell mentioned he didn't take hand outs. Initially, Lumina was a bit perplexed, tilting her head as she looked to Zell. "He wants me to...pay him?" naturally, she wondered why. She'd been happy to just give him money and take care of him, free of charge. That was when she recollected Zell initially turning down her offer of taking care of him. In hindsight, she couldn't blame him for wanting to contribute and be independent. She imagined Serah would want to help her out too to contribute. That made her giggle before seeing Zell offer to shake on this.
"Deal. From now on, you'll be my bodyguard. That does sound nicer than being the Muscle in my underground activities...eheh." This change in their dynamics made Lumina wonder where things were going from now on. All the same she shook his hand before adding, "Come on, let's head to my place, you can pick out your new room, Bodyguard~"
