[attr="class","curragepost"] Stella could not help the bewildered expression upon her features as she got a closer look at the man. He had..scales? Oh, she was not judging by any means! She simply had not seen one of his kind before, and she wondered if his race was native to Zephon or another star. There were just so many different kinds of people here! It was rather exciting to see and meet them all to see so much diversity on one star. Especially a being with that spiritual familiar that was hovering beside him. Stella cast a glimpse towards the man beside her and nearly giggled at the shock quite evident upon his own face. No, he had never seen either of them before either. [break][break]
"There was no true harm done. If nothing else, it certainly caused all of those questionable salesmen to scatter!" Her lips were quirked into a pleasant smile as she wondered just what else this stranger had to him. He appeared to be dressed to subterfuge and to go about innocuously. A shame that his familiar had ruined that plan for him, though! "I have never seen a familiar like yours. Is he a messenger of sorts?" The Oracles of her world were granted such beings to spread the words of the Astrals throughout Eos. Oddly, she somewhat wished to pet the being just to see if he was as tangible as he appeared. [break][break]
"Since we are all conversing in the rain together, why not introduce ourselves? My name is Stella and it is a pleasure to meet you both." The rain no longer bothered her as she was having a much more enjoyable time speaking with these two. So many questions began to filter through her mind that she wished to ask about the familiar. Stella could be a little too curious for her own good at times.

Keimusho supposed that it was a blessing that no one decided to attack the Anima and by extension him. Granted it if they tried to attack it nothing would happen to it, but he really did not wish to get caught in the crossfire. Especially by the black haired individual, he seemed to be a very capable individual. "I understand completely. This city already has its own sets of challenges on its own." Which is precisely why he didn't want the Anima coming out in the middle of the this city, let alone in the middle of a black market.
The woman accompanying his would proceed to speak. "There was no true harm done. If nothing else, it certainly caused all of those questionable salesmen to scatter!" It was a reminder of why he was there in the first place, but the investigation of this place seemed rather moot at this point with what has occurred so far. The women would then ask about the Anima and if it were some sort of messenger. "I wouldn't necessarily describe him as a messenger. They are more of a companion who occasionally gives their own message... sometimes at questionable times," the ninja responds. "I would describe myself as his... combat assistant," the Anima says. "You say that, but you... quite literally could not harm a fly," Keimusho responds to the spirit's remark. Though the Anima was correct because it was literally Keimusho's weapon, but that was not something that Keimusho wanted to announce to literally everyone he came across. He imagined that many people would be dying to get their hands on a weapon like that.
As the conversation progressed the woman introduced herself as Stella. "The pleasure is shared Stella, I am Mu and this is..." The ninja just realized that the Anima didn't have a real name. The weapon itself had a name, but not the Anima itself. The ninja didn't want to announce its name as Anima because that is what the being was, but it wasn't a real name. "Enma," the ninja said finishing his sentence. "Aw boss, you gave me a name?!" the newly named Enma said ecstatically. "Seven hells...," the ninja thought. It took much willpower for Mu to refrain from facepalming at that moment.
Neither man nor familiar seemed to be any threat so he dropped his hand from Cerberus and let himself relax. He let out a short grunt of agreement when the women stated the familiar caused the salesmen to scatter. That was certainly a benefit of the strange creature’s appearance. No one was currently being accosted by potions as likely to make them permanently blind as find them true love.
As the three (or four) of them stood together beneath the awning, everyone seemed to become friendly and companionable. Vincent hadn’t met many people yet in Sonora, but these two reminded him starkly of the friends he’d left behind in Gaia. They were genuine and he found himself almost enjoying their company. Maybe the mission hadn’t been an entire waste after all. The woman introduced herself as Stella. It seemed a fitting name for her.
The white-haired man began to explain the nature of his familiar. Not quite a messenger, just a sort of companion. According to it, a combat companion, though its master seemed quite skeptical of that fact. Vincent didn’t really care, as long as it wasn’t hostile or threatening either him or Stella. It was strange but calm and nearly polite. That was all that mattered to him.
The newcomer introduced himself with the very simple monosyllabic name of Mu. He seemed to consider the red creature before proclaiming it to be Enma. Aw, boss, you gave me a name?! Vincent couldn’t help but be amused. Apparently the thing had never had a name before? How strange that it would be named for the first time here, in the dark, nefarious alleys of Sonora before two strangers.
“My name is Vincent,” he supplied. “I came here to look for ammo,” he gestured to Cerberus. “But it seems there are only charlatans and frauds here. Like that potion vendor.”
[attr="class","curragepost"] Stella could not help the fascination that glittered within her eyes as she continued to look at this familiar. It was not quite unlike anything she had ever seen since she had once had her own Messengers to carry out her words to the people. But, no, this being was different than the familiars she knew of and had been tied to. "A combat assistant?" she mused softly. Was it like the Ring of the Lucii, then? Her violet eyes flickered towards the sword he carried and wondered if the spirit was tethered to it. A part of her wished to ask outright, but he had not volunteered such information and it did not really matter overall. Mu had made no to prove harmful to either of them and he seemed to have been trying to keep a low profile, to begin with. [break][break]
"You have not deigned to give him a name before now? For shame," Stella teased with a light smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you both." Even if their meeting was taking place in a darkened alleyway as the rain poured down upon them all. Stells wrapped her borrowed cloak a little more securely about herself as she looked over to Vincent. Her lips curled into a wider smile because she was happy to have a name for the kind stranger that had lent her his cloak. It was lucky for her that she had come across kinder souls while wandering within the underbelly of this city. [break][break]
"Very much so, I am afraid. I wish I could point you in the right direction for a reputable salesman, but I am fairly new to this city myself." And to the world of Zephon entirely. Stella was still attempting to gather her bearings and perform what jobs she could to earn enough gil to keep a roof over her head and feed herself. The experience certainly opened her eyes to how privileged she had been as a Princess of Tenebrae. Such titles and lineages meant nothing here, though.

The black haired individual would introduce himself as Vincent and explain that he was in search of ammo. However, at this point it was almost certain that they wouldn't find what they sought in this underbelly, which was riddled with low quality products and swindlers, albeit those who weren't particularly succeeding in that endeavor. Stella would poke fun at how Keimusho was only just now bestowing the familiar a name. The name wasn't exactly inspiring either, he simply named the Anima a shorter version of the name of the katana that it was in, which was called the Enma-dachi. Enma would once again speak. "For shame indeed, milady. But better late than never, because from now on I will be known as Enma, the strongest of combat companions." The anima would proceed to flex its aetherial muscles. Mu would raise an eyebrow. "You... get bolder by the day don't you?" he comments. "Names aside, I do agree that there is very little of worth in this area. Which leads me to believe that this is one of the more tame black markets in this city. The deceit here is high, but nothing that poses any true danger," the ninja continues.
Possible conflict? Vincent isn't going to escalate, but it could happen
Too much hope is the opposite of despair
He nodded in agreement to Stella’s words. He supposed it was something of a pleasure to meet them, especially when he found himself stupidly lost in the mess of twisting alleyways. He was slightly startled at the wide smile she gave him when she pulled the cloak tighter around her shoulders. But he let his lips twitch upward, ever so slightly. It was about as close to a smile as he was likely to get right now.
Vincent shifted uncomfortably and looked past his companions. The alleyway was starting to thin out, people returning to their homes and shelters to flee the rain. The potion vendor was nowhere to be seen, nor were those vendors who had just moments ago been hawking their wares from under rain-heavy awnings. The ninja and his companion spoke again, gently teasing each other just as two human companions might. Vincent heard Mu remark that this black market was more tame than other, seedier areas of the city. That was probably true. There seemed to be nothing outright nefarious or deadly. Not yet, at least.
But as Vincent looked around through the dreary night, he began to notice that the only people left mingling and lurking looked more dangerous. The crowd of gawkers and sellers, hapless tourists and lost souls had dispersed leaving behind only those unafraid of a lawless night in the slums on Sonora. The criminal element was all that remained once the rest of the citizens had left for the night. Criminals, and three strangers and one demonic companion huddled together and sharing introductions and pleasantries.
“We should get out of here,” Vincent muttered, glancing between Stella and Mu. “Unless we want to draw more attention to ourselves than we already are.” The men and women who skulked in the shadows seemed to know each other with at least passing familiarity. They were the people who lived in this place and it was starkly obvious that Vincent, Mu, and Stella didn’t belong. Perhaps alone Vincent could have blended, but not with these companions. “I don’t think travelers linger here long after dark.” He kept his voice low and soft, so as to not draw the attention of too many onlookers.
He wished, not for the first time, that he’d swallowed his pride and purchased a new gun. Now he was virtually defenseless, save for his materia. But that would cause more attention than Vincent had any desire to attract. And there was no need to antagonize the people here who, for all he knew, may be only interested in protecting their territory. He shifted his gaze to Mu. “You seem more familiar with this city. Would you mind showing us the way to the main streets?”
[attr="class","curragepost"] The anima was quite the character indeed! Stella raised her hand to cover her laughter before lowering it with a demure smile in place. For shame indeed! But there were more pressing concerns that teasing this man and his combat assistant. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Vincent glancing about their surroundings with a careful gaze. The young woman did the same as she cast her own violet gaze about. There was certainly a darker atmosphere as more of the wanderers had already left and more unsettling individuals began to make their presence known. No, she did not quite have a wish to remain here where others would believe her to be easy prey. [break][break]
And, well, she was still quite soaked even with Vincent's cloak to block against the worst of the rain. Yes, the three of them should get out of this crowded alleyway soon. Somewhere dry and hopefully with a roaring fireplace! She had earned enough gil to splurge a little on the nicer amenities Sonora had to offer. "I quite agree. We have overstayed our welcome and attention draws to us like moths to a flame." Her own voice was lowered as Vincent's had been to keep as quiet as she could. It was not as if she was defenseless, but her way of summoning her weapon was so grandiose and quickly gathered attention. [break][break]
Her gaze settled back onto Mu as she nodded her head in agreement. He seemed to possess some knowledge of this city and she hoped he could lead all of them from this underbelly. It did not seem as if any of them were in any true danger, but she did not wish to start an altercation if it could be avoided! "That would be quite lovely if you could so so, Mu."

The two other individuals would become more wary of the environment surrounding him. Keimusho eyed the area around them for a moment and he couldn't help but share their sentiments. What was once a fraudulent atmosphere shifted to one of unease to now one of potential hostility.
Offering a final witty remark, Enma says, "Well it's not my fault that some can handle the presence of a being of my caliber." Jokes aside, Enma's admittedly amusing antics did serve to almost distract from the fact that they were still in the middle of a criminal underbelly, but that didn't change that Keimusho's worries of the Anima showing up in public were not warranted. It definitely cased unwanted attention not just for the ninja, but for also for these two individuals. Keimusho wasn't too concerned with if a fight was provoked solely due to the fact that he had ways of ensuring their escape with little to no conflict. A simple smoke bomb could do the trick if the situation escalated to that point.
Both suggested that Mu would show them the way out on the impression that he was more familiar to the city than they. Mu didn't know the city like the palm of his hand obviously. But he was perfectly capable of leading the two of them out. "That should be a simple enough task. I'll gladly show you the way back," the Au Ra says. Without another word Enma would take a bow and disappeared from sight. As the ninja walked he turned to the duo and said "If you'd follow me." The ninja traversed back towards the direction from which he came.
[attr="class","vvoverlap"]Too much hope is the opposite of despair.
[attr="class","vvbody"]Stella clearly agreed that they should get out of the alleyway before it turned any more dangerous. The three of them were drawing far too much attention as it was. As the strange creature named Enma joked about being of such a high caliber, Vincent let out a huff of air. It wasn’t quite a laugh, but it was an amused sound. It was his foolish search for correct caliber ammo that brought him down here to begin with. [break][break] The ninja easily agreed to show him and Stella the way out of the tangle of twisting back alleys. Enma disappeared from sight again and they became a little less conspicuous. As they walked back through the murky, rain-drenched streets, Vincent paid better attention to the proper way back to the main roads of the city. He was quiet and thoughtful, committing the way to memory so he’d never run into a similar problem again. By the time the three of them reached the familiar wide streets that were recognizable to Vincent, he was completely ready to return to the inn he called home temporarily. The muck of the streets and cold, dirty rain seemed to coat him and he longed for nothing more than a hot shower, maybe a hot drink, and a long rest. [break][break] “Thank you, Mu,” Vincent said politely as they stood together, about to part ways. “I will return now to the Ironfall Inn. I can find the way from here.” He glanced once more between Mu and Stella. “If you ever need assistance, you can ask for me there.” He knew little about them, but having allies in this strange new world wouldn’t hurt. Stella seemed kind and gentle, with a possible hidden strength he had yet to witness. And Mu was clearly very adept at what he did, with Enma’s strange help. Without another word, he turned away leaving Stella with his cloak. It seemed rude to ask for it back.
