year 5, quarter 3
Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

Let the World Shatter, Into Dust
nothing else matters, only us
Well, okay, maybe those were some very sensitive details. But one, Lycoris was his wife, he could trust her. There was no possible way this would blow up in their face. That and the gods were nowhere to be found in this world. At times he wondered if this place even had a god or even some twisted puppetmaster. For all he knew this place was just a random anomaly that worked only by random chance. Somehow, that possibility bothered him even more than some malevolent maestro. But she was right, he really shouldn't push himself until they're out of the woods. With the two of them together and at least able to move, then they were most likely safe. Well, barring some ambush by some asshole or something, so he could work with that, at least.
Alex sighed a bit as he dismissed the Simalucrum. Or Fray, really. Passing out might be bad, but her wounds had really been something nasty to deal with. He breathed, feeling the aether from the land fill his body. He still had some tricks left from his time as a Black Mage. X'rhun would be throwing a fit right now if he could see that, but well, to make sure the wife was safe, rules were more guidelines. "I have to be more careful with any aether that I pull here. The land here is more sensitive to it." He stretched, weariness being replaced by strength. He could keep going for a while with this, at least. He couldn't do this too often though without draining the land though. Back home, there was the Lifestream to act as a buffer, but here it was as if one didn't exist. Add in that the aether in general here was far lower than back home, one had to be careful, or risk sucking the place dry.
Although maybe passing out would have been the better option considering Lycoris's idea. She meant well, she truly did and it was always wonderful to see her having her own projects. It's just... "A hub for information to pass through. An Adventurer's Guild, essentially." Did she really have to have something like that? He could already see it coming. "Pray tell, love. What is the name you have in mind?" It better not be what he thought it was. There was always that sense of nostalgia with her, but from him? No, he would have been quite happy if he never heard it again. He was a good husband, he would always be by his wife's side no matter what, even if it meant that he had to return to the Waking Sands.
Once in her younger days, she remembers a story she read. About a little girl who took over an item shop and an accountant faerie that came to collect on her father's debt, only to end up helping her along the way. The two forged a great friendship and met a bunch of others along the way. Silly as it sounds, the concept of it all is endearing. She knows how to keep track of inventory, interact with customers, take orders, and all of that. Life experience in the field and behind the counter have both been gained. Getting the capital to invest will take time, but sooner or later, they'll have their own--
"I was thinking of naming it the Waking Sands," she smiles all too innocently. The worst part is her innocent smiles are actually innocent smiles, devoid of plotting or deception in the slightest! How bothersome. "Not only is it catchy, it is somewhere we spent a great deal of time. A tribute to our shared past."
Plus, if they can somehow start up a linkpearl network, she would so annoy the crap out of him on purpose with it.
✿ c: maaaaaybe -cackles- we can wrap up here and always start something else. this was a good re-intro and all <3

Let the World Shatter, Into Dust

The idea in and of itself isn't all that crazy, and he'd be lying if he hadn't thought of it. When finally the world was safe, actually safe, maybe retire with her, open a shop, maybe have some kids. It was something he'd wanted, deep down. It was just, he didn't want to put an entire family at risk. Not to mention the fear that they'd get sucked up by Hydaelyn to fight for her. He understood the necessity of what he did, of what he fought for, but there were times where he had understood that he'd never really had a choice in the matter, and that left him somewhat bitter. On the Source, he could never really go back to being Alexander save with Lycoris. Nearly everyone else would always just know him as the Warrior of Light, savior of the world.
But, there it was. The Waking Sands. There was that strong urge, that overwhelming urge to ask her to name it anything else. Why not the Rising Sands if she had to be nostalgic? But those arguments were quashed when he saw that innocent smile. "O-Of course, my love, it will be like we're back home." Just... not at a point in home where he'd rather be. "So many... fond memories." Even then, what kind of shop would the Waking Sands be? God, the smile, she was serious. Not even in the cheeky way, too. Well, in sickness and in health and all of that.
Still, he notes her earlier remark of being able to walk. Yeah, not with a twisted ankle like that. He scoots over, placing his arms beneath her before he scoops her into the air. There's no need to force her to walk. Plus, how long had it been since he held his wife in his arms? He was gonna take full advantage of that. "Come on, let's get you out of here." The world's gotten a bit brighter to him. There's someone else here, and things are probably going to be okay. Maybe.
