A Date with Destiny
Cissnei & @xluca Cissnei leans back along the bar, her elbows lining along the wood. Ochre eyes watched the people as they seemed to pour in for the event. She did not fit in here. All these people seemed comfortable and laughing as they searched for love. But what about her? Was the devil capable of love? The better question, she decided, was where did she fit into this world? Her participation in this event was her attempt to figure that out. Or perhaps it was simply to find someone interesting to learn about. After all, connections with people meant connections to resources. She felt a tap on her shoulder and a slip was slid across the bar towards her. She looked down near her elbow, before turning on her stool and picking up the slip. It seemed a selection was made for her. She gave the bartender a slight smile and a nod for his hard work. The slip stated that she was assigned to table five. She assumed that who ever was chosen as her partner would be there. She stood up and ran her smoother her hands down her suit to smooth it. Gingerly fingers came up to straighten her tie. Well, time to meet the lucky person. She squeezed through the crowd and found the small table, sparsely decorated with a rose and the number tag. It seemed like there would be nothing to do but keep each other company. The thought gave her a smile. Sometimes there was comfort in talking to strangers. One never knew what was going to happen. She pulled her chair back and took her seat. She folded her hands in her lap as she waited.

The time has finally come when the slip was handed to the Miqo'te by the bartender. A curious hum escaped his lips as he unfolded the paper, seeing the name of the person he is to have a night with alongside where they are sitting.[break] "Cissnei, hm, currrious name," X'luca's ears twitched curiously when he softly read his surprise date's name out loud. Mismatched hues took a glance to where this Cissnei was supposedly sitting. There she was, a red-headed maiden, a hair color oddly similar to one of the members of Garlond Ironworks. Slipping off from his barseat, the Astrologian made his way to greet this surprise date. [/break][/break] As he made his way closer to the person he is assigned to for the night, he is met with a young woman who is dressed in a rather formal attire. Her top was that reminiscent to what a groom or a bestman would wear; a blouse and a nice, simple black jacket made from the finest textiles along with slacks made from equally fine textiles. X'luca took his seat at the chair across this Cissnei's, ready to greet the woman tonight.[break] "Good evening, I prrresume thou ist Cissnei?" A smile curved upon his lips as the Miqo'te introduced himself. Mayhaps this was a Miqo'te thing, but his lips were curved into a smile which just seemed oddly reminiscent of a cat's.[/break] "Mine name is X'luca Tia, tis a pleasure to make acquaintance with thee,"

A Date with Destiny
Cissnei & @xluca Cissnei could easily spot the gentleman as he made his way through the crowded bar. His uniform was certainly unique. It reminded her of robes of mages she read in fantasy novels. His manner of speech and accent were certainly interesting as well. Perhaps, the proprietor did know what interested her. She leaned back in her chair slightly and gestured him to take a seat, which he took without any need for prompting. It seemed he had much initiative too. “I am Cissnei.” She gave a confirmation, allowing her head to dip to follow the confirmation. She searched her brain for the proper honorific for him. “Mister,” seemed inappropriate. But she was at a loss for what his exact profession was, which was an oddity for her. A spellcaster of sorts, she was sure. Her ochre eyes met his mismatched ones, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Spellmaster Tia.” She stated and knew he would correct her if she was incorrect or overly polite. “May I ask what brings you here today?” Many people had joined the event for different reasons: to quell boredom, to search for love, to search for company, to satiate curiosity, or simply for the giggles. “Oh. How impolite of me. Would you like anything to eat or drink? My treat.” She raised her hand and tried to signal for an attendant to come over. She promptly did and provided them an abbreviated menu than what was usually on the menu. Cissnei slid it towards him. She crossed her arms along the table and leaned forward. “Tell me about yourself, Spellmaster Tia. Do you have business in Provo? What do you enjoy doing?” Cissnei studied him, as she waited for his replies. The business woman in her was a little stuff in these situations. But she was most certainly trying.
