[attr="class","aymbody"] A distant world away from where he once was. The Elezen ventured not too far outside of the city of Provo yet not within the Headstone Forest, seeking what lies outside the city whilst maintaining some close distance within so he does not find himself strayed too far from safety. The forest reminded Aymeric of what little he has seen of the neighboring nation of Gridania, a nation which has shared traditionally friendly ties with Ishgard. The locals have all said it; to not get near the Headstone Forest lest you wander forever within. Others who managed to return from the forest have spoken of what is seemingly dark forces within tainting the woods. He couldn't help but feel curious about the truth behind Headstone Forest, but certainly has no intention to go near the woods for reasons stated by the locales who feared the woods. [break][break] It mayhaps not be the best to bother the woods. [break][break] The Lord Commander was just about to turn back and head to the city when a familiar blonde approached. It was unmistakable who that young man is; Alexander, the Warrior of Light. Though Aymeric knows fully who this man was, something felt hazy within his mind; it was like something was blocking him from certain memories of Alexander, making him feel he knows the Warrior of Light, yet not know him at the same time. [break][break] "Alexander," The Elezen spoke then paused for a moment; not knowing what exactly to say when his memories of the man are cloudy. "I assume you were also called as well?"

One Brings Shadow, One Brings Light
to this riddle, all souls are tied
Today was a successful day. He'd gotten the payment up front, well, half of it. The other half would come when he came back with the prize. Which he did, if that demonic looking boar being hauled on Ragnabawk's back was anything to go by. Really, it was similar to the Ventures he would send his Retainers out on back on the Source. The difference was that instead of strange coins called Ventures (why had they accepted those, anyway?), they actually paid Alexander gil! That brought up another question for him, though; was gil just some kind of universal currency or something? Here or Eorzea, they seemed completely content to accept it. He couldn't help but wonder how his Retainers were doing. Were they doing alright? What about the other Adventurers? The rest of the Scions?
Truth was, he recognized Aymeric pretty far off as he was heading out of the forest. He knew it was him, and he had every intention of approaching him. He just... wasn't flying to meet him or anything. Oh, it wasn't that he wasn't happy to see the Lord Commander, quite the opposite. But he figured that Aymeric wouldn't like it is some stranger just bodied him. Especially considering that so far, everyone he'd met had forgotten he'd even existed, so why would he expect Aymeric to be any different. Really, he had just resolved to solemnly approach him, introduce himself, and who knows, maybe even have an even more awesome friendship! After all, the whole thing started in a bit more of a turbulent time than anything, so at least--hold up, did Aymeric just call him by name?
Right then.
Alex was bloody there, is what he was. He may or may not have used a Blink from his old Black Mage kit in order to get there, but he found himself right besides Aymeric as Ragnabawk just sort of dawdled his way towards them. "Aymeric?! You remembered me?!" He seemed incredulous, and, well, he was. "Oh, man, finally. No one here has remembered me." He could give the Elezen a hug right now--You know what, that was exactly what he was going to do, specifically as he reached out to pull the Lord Commander into a near suffocating bear hug. Finally, something was going well here!

Nobody remembered Alexander? The Lord Commander's eyes widened slightly as he blinked in surprised at what the Warrior of Light has told him. That explained why Alexander seemed to so relieved to see Aymeric. Admittedly, he wondered why the blonde seemed so happy to see another familiar face from Eorzea. On the other hand, the elezen felt guilt that the memories he bears of Alexander were rather spotty at best for some reason. Aymeric is quite certain that he knows more than what he remembers now, but there should be a way to remember this brave young man who bravely faced certain dangers to save the world. As bittersweet as it may sound, it may also serve well to create new memories from this experience. [break][break] "I see, I see. Well, nobody here seems to recognize me as well, so I believe we are on the same page my friend," A sympathetic smile formed upon the Lord Commander's lips, as he gently patted the shoulder of the Warrior of Light. Nobody seemed to know who the Lord Commander is, nor do they know his own home, Ishgard. Having familiar faces in an unfamiliar world would serve well. In fact, Aymeric is pleased to walk alongside Alexander once more. [break][break] His attention then turned to the Chocobo, who was carrying what is certainly the Warrior of Light's trophy from a battle. An impressive, demonic looking boar's corpse sat upon the bird's back. Aymeric smiles as he gently pats the black chocobo's head to greet the bird. "Hello friend, I guess you followed Alexander here did you?" The azure-clad elezen greeted the companion bird, being slightl reminded of his own loyal steed, Maple. He wondered how Maple was doing back in Ishgard, and hoped he could see him soon, as well as his cantankerous feline friend. [break][break]
"I assume the locals here requested for your aid to get this...Impressive creature?" The Lord Commander's attention is turned towards the trophy, wondering what Alexander was asked to do. There were endless tasks someone like the Warrior of Light can do; tis no wonder he would be asked to help out the woes like he did back in Eorzea.

One Brings Shadow, One Brings Light
to this riddle, all souls are tied
There was a soft kweh in affirmation from Ragnabawk as it cooed into the petting. Yes, the way to Ragnabawk's heart was petting and food. Expensive food, too. Really, looking at it, Ragnabawk probably cost more than anything he actually put into for his own needs. Sure his clothes could be expensive, but well, there was the barding, the coat, those Thavnarian Onions that Ragnabawk really, really loved. What a greedy bird, now that he thought about it. But he couldn't say anything; Ragnabawk had been with him since the beginning, and if nothing else, all the training and experience made him a mighty battlebird. It's just... in hindsight, Alex really should have given him a more glamorous name than Ragnabawk, which had originally been a spur of the moment thing when pushed to pick a name.
It was better than Kweh at least.
But at least it wasn't just him that was having trouble, and for that, he was a little thankful, as horrible as it was to feel that. "It's something in this world. Scrambling everyone's memories. Why it hasn't affected me, I have no idea." He'd met more than one person who should recognize him, but... Aymeric would feel some pressure, from Ragnabawk, specifically, as he nuzzled his head into Aymeric's hand and pushed a little, as if trying to remind the Lord Commander that he was still there and very much wanted more headpats. "Oh, come on, don't be greedy." Okay, so maybe he'd been spoiling the bird since he got here, but that didn't give Ragnabawk the excuse to do it to other people!
Impressive? Right, demonic looking boar, he had to take a moment to remember that. "Just a boar." He remarked with a bit of a shrug. "In all honesty it was kind of boaring." Though that got him to point his index fingers at the tall, pretty Elezen in a grin. Ahem, he was never allowed to be the one to give speeches for this exact reason. Puns were a special kind of hell for people that were having to listen. This was why things were better left to Aymeric, because if it were Alex, peace probably would've never been achieved. Really, he could dragon with the dragon puns all day if he had to. Right, he needed to stop right now before he drove off the only person that seemed to really remember him so far.
He pulled back a bit, scratching at his cheek. "To answer honestly, it's a Venture. The person wanted boar meat, and there'd been one that had been hassling travelers. So I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone." Granted, the guy probably wanted a regular boar instead of this thing. Alexander looked at it strapped over Ragnabawk, right, either this would go smoothly, or he'd have to do some convincing, as he began to rub his chin in thought.
