Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.

No, he was well out of the castle when it finally came down. Granted, he had a certain Roegadyn to thank for that one. "I did not. That would be Gosetsu. He insisted and I had to effectively physically drag Hien out of that castle." That was a bit tough for him to accomplish. Hien wasn't all that quick to let him go, and Alexander had to effectively coax him. As one of Hien's Samurai, Gosetsu genuinely could not have asked for a better death, if there was ever a way the old man wanted to go, that would have been it, right there. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, if you were to ask Gosetsu himself. "Gosetsu survived, though." And well, that was a drama in itself that chances are didn't unfold in that timeline, if he was being told the truth.
He nodded slightly, so things, for the most part, seemed to go the same way it did with him. Just likely a bit more somber amongst his closer friends. He frowned at that, wondering how the twins in particular took that development. He couldn't imagine that Alphinaud had taken it well, and Alisaie, well... even he wasn't completely blind to the way Alisaie seemed to act when he was around. "Same as you; I didn't get a chance to celebrate. It was back to Eorzea to get the Resistance back up and running." Plus getting to actually spar with Lyse was fun. Though why she showed that dress to him first, well, he found that a bit strange. He wouldn't lie though, it really did look good on her at least, so there was that.
But Keimusho asked him a valid question. He wasn't sure how to answer it at first. Really, simple truth was, Keimusho had probably just gotten lucky and barely avoided his imminent demise. "It went about the same, we attacked Castrum Abania before invading the royal palace itself, I confronted Zenos. He merged with this Primal your people called Shinryu." From what little he'd been able to learn of the Doman language from Hien and Yugiri, the name effectively translated to "true dragon." What a peculiar name. Still, languages fascinated him, and while the Echo provided him with the ability to innately translate any tongue, actually looking into the language itself was fascinating. "I killed the Primal, and Zenos, cornered, slit his own throat." Of course, he left out the part that it didn't stick and Zenos came back anyway. But he had a feeling Keimusho was going to be feeling bad enough, why make it worse?
Part of his tale stuck out to him. "That sounds like the Echo, alright. Different visions of different times. You get to peek inside their heads, see what they hide, renders you immune to being tempered by Primals too." It was a handy ability to have. "It manifests in different ways. For some, you can understand any language, others, you can discern someone's true intent, and for some even still, channel the power of a Primal through yourself. For me, it's a multiple sided ability." He holds out his hand, ticking up a finger for each he listed, "Translation, Future Sight, Mental Clairvoyance, Retroactive Time Travel, and so on." Yeah, he'd hit the jackpot, Minfilia once told him. He just wished he didn't get hit with those visions on the fly. "Welcome to the club." He didn't even know what he could teach the guy.

"Kami strike me down... He merged with the true dragon?! That is absurd!" he exclaimed while trying to keep an acceptable tone of voice. He was sure Alexander would not care much and be understanding, but there was no guarantee that guards would be of a similar mindset. "How would one even go about merging themselves with an eikon?" he asked. Keimusho had a sigh of relief when Alexander revealed that the story ended well with Zenos bringing about his own demise. That was until he remembered that the two of them come from different points in time. What Alexander experienced was only yet to come for Keimusho assuming that he could be sent back to the exact time that he left. In addition, it wasn't like that his version of the Warrior of Light would be alive to stop it. "If he is willing to go that far then this is something that must be prevented." he continued.
Alexander went on to explain what exactly the Echo was. Honestly, he did a better job at it than the other Scions did. Perhaps, it was due to the limited time he had to speak with them that he didn't get a very thorough explanation. However, something about this explanation and the information that Zenos merged with Shinryu irked him. Alexander's explanation that the Echo allows you to channel the power of primals answered his earlier question, but that did not explain how a Garlean had the ability as well. "If the Echo allows one to channel the power of eikons then how can the Imperial do the same? A Garlean couldn't possibly have the Echo as well could they?" he asked.

Seventy? Only seventy thousand? Hells, my subligar's worth more than that!
Oh. Right. He'd forgotten about that. He really didn't know why he did, considering he remembered Fordola full well, and the problems she wound up causing. It was easy to forget that Zenos was one too considering how stupidly powerful he was. "Ah, right, that." He remarked as it began to come back to him. It bothered him that he forgot something as fundamental as that. "So, the Garleans are working on something called the Resonant Project as a means of giving as many of their kind the Echo as possible." Keimusho and his world would need to know about this, going forward. "Zenos took part in it. Add that to his already ridiculous power," Which really was ridiculous. With some revelations concerning his lineage, it made more sense, but still. "And you have a Garlean that can hijack Primals."
Of course, it got worse, well, mostly. If it wasn't bad enough that they could all get the same kind of power that Keimusho had experienced, well, then there was one thing he'd surmised. "From what I understand, it could potentially allow them to use magic, as well." Granted, that had been mostly because of Elidibus being Elidibus, but considering that things really only went like they did because of the Resonant Project, it wouldn't be unheard of to assume that it would give them the ability to use magic as well. Which, well, that would probably be really bad. Their magitek as it was really more evened the playing field than anything; give them regular ass magic on top of that, and then things would get really messy.
Which, speaking of, should he tell Keimusho about Black Rose? That shit just made everything worse. Then again, it really only came into play when everything had gone to hell for them. So as things were right now, well, it wouldn't break out, and Gaius would do his thing, right? Oh, right, there was the original question as well as he perked up. "I'm not sure, really, I've never tried it. I imagine it's the same as every Primal summoning; you just want it really hard and use a boatload of aether." Yeah, that was the trick to it alright, thinking and aether. Not that it mattered; if he was dead then there weren't really any people stopping the Primals right now. Jeez, now that he thought about it, everything really would go to hell right now if he died. Where the hell were the others?

"I see... so the Garlean Empire found a way to artificially imbue someone with the Echo. If it'll also allow them to manipulate aether as well... then they may very well create a nigh-unbeatable army if all the soldiers participate in the project." This very much worried the Au Ra. The Garleans already possessed unmatched magitek. Combining their weapons and armor with the manipulation of aether was something that Keimusho dreaded to think about. The Warrior of Light dying in his world definitely yielded the worse of consequences. He would really have to think of how he could help prevent a aether-wielding Garlean Empire for when he is able to return.
"I suppose if we could merge with primals with the Echo, it could serve as a contingency plan of sorts. Only to be used in the most extreme of cases..." he continues. Perhaps like what is more than likely yet to come in Keimusho's world. The Warrior of Light's death would definitely not deter the Empire from this Resonant Project. In fact, it was likely to encourage it. Zenos merging with Shinryu could be a different story, that seemed to be overkill with the Warrior of Light's absence. In fact, it was already overkill to begin with. Keimusho couldn't imagine what it must have taken in order for Alexander to beat the merged entity with was Zenos and the true dragon.
Another pressing thought entered Keimusho's mind soon afterwards. "Seeing that you come from a time totally different from mine, I wonder if the states of our worlds change while we are in this one. If we were returned would we come back to the point at which we left? Would some time pass by?" he asked rhetorically. Keimusho was certain that the only way he'd find out is whenever he'd get to go back.

What did it take to take down Zenryu?! Well, it took--Actually, no, best not to even bring that up, too much heartache, you see. However, that had no meaning, as it wasn't even spoken aloud, so it's not like Alexander could have commented on it. "Assuming they all survive, yes." He remarked. The Resonant as it was when he was around, was bloody awful and could be devastating when it worked out. However, if Grynewaht had been any indication; for the most part, anyone who found themselves Hypertuned tended to fall apart rather quickly. "For the most part, the majority of those who went into it were stronger, but were little more than mindless beasts." Which meant that brawn, which never worked against Garlemald anyway, was out of the question. Again, that didn't really change that much, as it's not like they had an answer for all the Magitek.
And now he was really starting to regret informing Keimusho of that idea, especially with the Echo. You couldn't really tell from the way he looked at the shinobi though. Then again, it wasn't his world, it wasn't his time. The rules changed, and he had no real means or even right to interfere. "It's a dangerous game." It was a simple warning. Even considered a most dire extreme, it rarely worked out. It risked exposing that sort of thing to the Garlean empire and very rarely could the person taking on a Primal handle that kind of strain. In truth, while he didn't find Keimusho weak at all, he figured that chances were if he truly channeled the energy through himself, Alex would have to put him down. The last thing he needed was for someone to pull another Ilberd and do something batshit insane. But enough of that! Keimusho had brought up another fear that had weighed on his mind, had to deal with that first! "I hope not. I really hope not." He didn't want to be pulled away and return, only to find his world in ashes.
Again.
Finally, they made it to the top, and there it was, the tomb of the Dragoon. Alexander looked at the guards, wondering what exactly it was they were going to do next. Such reverence for a Warrior of Light, and at times he wondered if he'd ever receive something like that when he died. If Ramza and Tenzen were anything to go by, then no. That didn't bother him though; he'd signed up for that when he'd taken up the adventuring life in Ul'dah those years ago. But he was curious, and he wanted to try, as he closed his eyes, and wondered if he could reach out to the Warrior within.

"I'm completely aware," Keimusho responded to Alexander's warning. "Fret not, it was only an hypothetical thought I had. I am not quick to take a risk like that without knowing the potential implications. I am also unaware of how I would even go about trying something of the sort," he continued. Something as large as transforming into the likes of an eikon (or merging with it in the case of Zenos) would have to be something Keimusho would have to look into before anything and that would be when he returned to his world. Keimusho prayed that the viceroy saw no need to resort to that since the Warrior of Light was deceased in his world.
The conversation between Keimusho and Alexander eventually led the two towards to sought after tomb. The tomb was a sight to behold akin to the tower itself. Keimusho wondered what kind of Warrior of Light this world had. Was he anything like Alexander? What did he do to receive such recognition? The title was not to be taken lightly so Keimusho assumed that he once saved Serentestra if not the entirety of Zephon. Perhaps they have done similar noble dead on many occasions. Regardless this tomb definitely commanded respect, if not reverence for this world's deceased hero.
The Au Ra sat seiza-style before the tomb. This was merely to show his respect to the hero. However, it was likely that this could've been mistaken as worshiping the warrior, especially from the perspective of the guards who were already confused enough from the conversation that Keimusho and Alexander held. Regardless Keimusho was unconcerned of the confusion he may or may not have been causing.
"May I ask what made you curious enough to visit this tomb? Was it simply because they were a Warrior of Light?" he asked Alexander.
