Larsa had seen Bartz seen rather frightened when he had been explained about the power he had just obtained. Larsa did not question it aloud, however he wondered how he did not know of it's capabilities if he gad it all along? At any rate, it was no time for them to squabble amomgst each other. They had to help those that were trapped down below. Larsa had directed his attention to the people who were already with them. There were some who were injured still, so the young lord had got to work, continuing to heal the wounded using Cura. Small white orbs flowed out of his hand one after the other touching those that were injured, healing their injuries. As he continued to heal the wounded, he had seen the girl, Krile perform the same capability that Bartz had revealed earlier. Her new attire was rather eccentric, however such things never bothered Larsa all too much. In fact, if it were to be helpful, he'd have no quarry's of it. In fact, nothing of the sort ever bothered Larsa. He was not one to judge people based on their appearance.
The healing magic had stopped and everyone seemed to have calmed down slightly although the chaos had not yet stopped. "If you would like, I can stick with tending to the wounded once Bartz returns. I do know some combative Magicks, but I doubt they will be able to counter those orbs," Larsa said to Krile in admittance. Then again, perhaps the manufacted Nethecite he carried could dissipate the magical orbs that threatened them. However, Larsa wanted to avoid using the Nethecite if he could absolutely help it. Yes, it could keep them safe, however Larsa had seen what the use of the Nethecite could do to its bearer and if that were too happen ... Things would only be more troublesome, and he wouldn't endanger the people he is trying so desperately to keep safe.

Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.
Genesis raised an eyebrow as Krile explained that Bartz was afraid of heights. She seemed a tad smug while explaining it to him, though he hadn’t the faintest idea as to why. Not that he had any desire to try to delve into the mind of a teenage girl, so he didn’t bother to ask. He was fine with accepting her apparent dislike of him. You couldn’t win them all over, after all.
“Of course he’s afraid of heights,” he muttered with a roll of his eyes. Trust the brunette man to come up with a way to make even this situation endearing. Bartz did seem terrified at the edge of the roof, but before he could address him, Genesis was briefly distracted by the glare that Krile sent him at the end of her explanation. He returned her hostile glance with a friendly smile. He could have been petty in response, but kindness would probably bother her more. If being friends with Sephiroth for more than a decade had taught him anything, it was the best ways to needle someone.
Genesis was a little surprised when his name popped out of Bartz’s mouth, and he frowned slightly when his aid was requested since he could fly. “You must be joking,” he said distastefully, picturing himself lifting sweaty, bleeding people who would cling to him as he carried them to the roof. Nothing sounded less appealing than that. He was prepared to decline, but with his next words, Bartz framed it instead as helping him to be less scared. Genesis stared at him for a moment, slowly crossing his arms as he turned his head to the side. “And who says I care about that? Because I don’t. Care that is.” That was his story at least, and he was sticking to it.
As Bartz prepared to jump off the side, the younger brunette boy next to him went back to curing the wounded while Krile rummaged through her pocket and pulled out a crystal that looked similar to the one that Bartz possessed. Genesis blinked slowly as she changed clothes in a flash of light too, and he made a mental note to try to find one of those Materia later. If nothing else, it would certainly be convenient in the morning to not have to manually change clothing.
Bartz suddenly jumped up at least twenty feet in the air, and Genesis shaded his eyes to watch his progress while whistling under his breath in appreciation. He hadn’t known that he had it in him, but then he hadn’t exactly seen the man’s combat skills the first time that they had met in a dance club. As Bartz came hurtling back towards the ground, a guttural scream escaped him, and Genesis cursed under his breath before rushing forward to the rooftop’s edge.
“Good luck then, team,” he said a bit dryly to Krile and the brown-haired boy before allowing himself to fall backwards off the roof. His wing caught the swell of the wind until he was able to soar underneath of Bartz, grabbing the man under his back and knees and landing on the ground while carrying him bridal style. He probably could have caught him in a way that would have left him more dignity, but really, where was the fun in that?
“My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow, no matter where the winds may blow,” he quoted fully before he set him down on his feet. “It’s been quite a while since I was called upon to play the role of the hero,” he added as an afterthought, shooting Bartz a faint smirk as he brushed some of his own hair back from his face. “I'll help you, but I do suggest working on your landings. It helps if you look in front of you rather than at the ground creeping up on you. Oh, and bend your knees upon impact unless you fancy having shattered legs.” With that advice given, he strode forward and scanned the landscape around them for people they could grab. Hopefully Bartz wouldn’t take too much offense that he planned to carry people by the backs of their shirts. He wasn’t about to let people touch him after all.
"If you need any further encouragement to land on your own, then I will drop whoever I'm holding if I have to come help you," he prompted him helpfully before getting to work. It was the sort of harsh reality check he would have given the cadets back when he had been in Soldier, which might have explained why he was rarely called upon to train them as much as Angeal had been. Oh well. Bartz would learn faster that way.
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above Out where the lightning splits the sea
The air ricocheted him down like an arrow knocked by the heaven's bow. He could have sworn he was gaining momentum as he fell towards the ground. What use was this job? Jump real high to fall back down and die? Well this was it. He was gonna just be a splat on the ground like all the other people dying around him. He wasn't gonna see anymore of the strange new land he was gonna . He wasn't going to see Boko again. Bartz closed his eyes ready for the inevitable crunch, but he felt his legs scooped out from under him and a steadying arm come round his back. Bartz blinked his eyes open in surprise only to be looking up the neck of Genesis, and he gave a hesitant smile hidden under his mask. Did this mean he cared now?
Normally Bartz wouldn't have minded being carried in such a style, and probably would have had something whimsical to say about it, but in this moment all he could pray for was that his feet touched the ground as soon as possible. "I sure hope these people don't hate us," he replied as Genesis spoke to him his voice shaky and pitched with nerves his hands flying above his head in exasperation, "We're trying to help them after all." Bartz hands shook as the adrenaline coursed through him, and he almost ricocheted again as he was want to jump for joy when Genesis offered his aide. "Glad you have my back!."
The good mood was almost as shattered as his supposed legs would be. Bartz wanted to keel over and vomit at the idea that now he was on the sweet wonderful ground he was going to be made to jump back up into the air. Bartz gave a horrified chuckle as Genesis said he would drop people to help him if need be. "Don't joke like that." he said although something in Genesis' tone made Bartz wonder if it was a joke at all. Bartz shuddered the feeling off before shooting the man a thumbs up. "Don't worry. I'll remember what you said like you remember that poem of yours." Bartz was trying desperately to keep things light even as the somber scene around him set in.
Limbs littered the streets and blood flowed from where the orbs had smothered people. Although most had been able to escape, people still stampeded round them looking for anyway to escape the mayhem. There were too many people, he wasn't going to able to help everyone. The thought weighed him down with regret as he started pushing through the crowd. People were going to die because he couldn't help them all. His tears came hot and heavy as the saltiness of them dried his lips. This wasn't him. He wasn't a hero, he didn't know these people. Still deep in his heart he felt a beat: he could help some and that was better than none. He nodded to himself.
Bartz pushed against the crowd trying to run past him surveying the crowd. His gaze landed on a mom holding her child close to her chest as she tried to sneak away towards a back alley. "Hey!" Bartz yelled closing the distance between them. "You've got to trust me." he said as he approached although she looked fearful at his touch. "No time to talk just piggyback me and I'll hold her. We'll get you to higher ground." The women needed no other provocation as she hugged herself round Bartz and Bartz held the child close. He had no time to doubt if this would work as a fresh wave of screams accompanied the sound of another orb dropping.
Bartz jumped. The woman gasped with a short scream of her own as the rocketed towards the sky, and the child pressed her face against Bartz' armor. For a moment Bartz saw only white as terror struck him once more. "Look ahead instead of at the ground." The advice swirled in his mind as his vision cleared and he scanned the rooftop where Krile and Larsa awaited. Bartz held back his lurching stomach to keep it from spoiling the child as he bent his knees hard as the three of them landed on the rooftop. "They'll....they'll, they'll" Bartz couldn't continue as he pointed to Krile and Larsa before vomiting down the side of the building his nerves, the gravity, and his own fear mixing. He had to keep going, do it again and again until he couldn't anymore. Bartz took a deep breathe before jumping into the mayhem once more.
