Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

One Brings Shadow, One Brings Light
to this riddle, all souls are tied
Tell her about himself? Alex blinked for a moment. Good golly gosh, where in the absolute hell could he even start with that? Finally, he just took a deep breath. Best to keep it simple, keep it boring. Besides, he doubted she'd believe the whole story, anyway. It did sound kind of preposterous at times. "I'm Alex. I'm an adventurer by trade. Not a mercenary, there's a difference. I don't do assassinations." He remarked, before adding on with an embarrassed cough. "Well uh, the regular kind, anyway. If you need me to, for example, kill ten wolves and skin 'em, I can do that." Wasn't that kind of assassination? Maybe more extermination, but the point was he could be hired to go kill something. Just not people. Nope. That was where he and Mercenaries drew the line. And where he and Caius drew the line, apparently.
"I also don't steal--" Images of all the times he had done exactly that flashed through his mind. Hell, he'd stolen a pair of pants for Hildibrand. So he cut himself off, pursed his lips, and waved his hand and shook his head. "Anyway." They were not going to be discussing that. And the less she thought she could use her for break ins... wait, no, the Prison Break was going to be a break in, wasn't it? Shit. These realizations caused Alexander to pause for a moment, eyes widening slightly before he returned to looking at her. But really, resources and favors? She was about to find that while he could be pliable, he wouldn't be bent so easily. Not to say that he wouldn't help her out with exactly those. It was just... he had his limits. Of course, he'd noticed the widening of her eyes at the mention of Ignis. But he didn't mention it at the moment.
He continued on. How to best skirt all of this? "Anyway, as you've probably guessed, I'm from a different world called Etheirys. If you haven't heard of it, don't be surprised. The amount of people I've met from it, I can count on one hand." No... real need to go into the reflections and the Source and the sundering and the Warrior of Light and all that. No no, nothing good could come from that. He blinked for a moment before adding on. "And I can do magic." He remarked as he clapped his hands and pulled them apart, a rainbow forming between his hands before flicking them, and the rainbow, away in a shower of glittery sparkles. He could put on a show if he wanted. Came with having been the Great Azuro at one point in his life.
"I do appreciate the half-off discount though, truly." Wait. Shit. It hit him then. It was probably half-off because of Ignis, wasn't it? He wanted to help two, half of two was one--Godsdammit, there went his leverage about Ignis. Gone in the blink of an eye.
[attr="class","crashBody"] Alex sounded like many normal off-word adventurers. It was good he didn’t straight up murder people for money. She couldn’t say the same for some of her past jobs. “All right. If I need some pest control, I can count on you.” She gave a semi-serious expression with a slight nod of her head, arms crossed in front of her. [break][break] And he didn’t steal. What a good man. He was definitely the hero type. Cissnei couldn’t claim she hadn’t done that either. Though, she curiously watched his expressions. Why was he making such a face? Was he not being wholly honest. Was that shame? “Don’t worry. I never ask for anything unfair. I may need some assistance in my work, you see. I could always use an extra hand. I am not a fighter, so I may require some protection when I travel. Or maybe if a missing person wandered too far into the woods, I may need help with the wild life.” She shrugged. “Do you think if I need that type of favor, I can rely on you? If so, I will consider that payment enough.” [break][break] She was being sincere. [break][break] “Or I can have you help me out on Velvet Street, if you can put on that kind of show.” An elbow rested along the table, as her face was propped against her fist. She gave a smug smile as she interestingly watched the rainbow flicker in and out of existence. Much like a cat interested in a laser light. “Not enough duos in the business. I am sure we can attract a rather large audience.” She shrugged with a small wink. [break][break] She tapped her finger along the side of her cheek. “Either way, the choice in payment is your’s. I won’t demand something you will not freely give.” Not for payment anyway. She hummed thoughtfully to herself. “It looks like you have the proper skill set for diversions, as well as defending someone enough to get them out. You would do well on the infiltration team. But how do you work under pressure? Will you rat out your allies?”

One Brings Shadow, One Brings Light
to this riddle, all souls are tied
So he had to give her credit, she was being more than fair. Understanding and giving him multiple options. In all honesty, this was turning out to be a very pleasant affair. At least he was kind of thinking that she wasn't just trying to butter him up. Probably. "Protection and tracking is fine." He nodded. It gave her what she needed, or wanted, to know. In truth, that was what he was best at, but he wouldn't say that part out loud. But if she was willing to give him the choice, then he knew which one he was going to go with. "For this in particular, I'll do favors as you need them." Tit for tat. Something that, once done, he could brush off and they could be done with each other if that was all that was being exchanged between the two. He didn't exactly ask her to take part in getting Ignis and Gladio out. She was free to find out then simply wash her hands of the whole affair, keep herself mostly clean.
But, going off of tit for tat... she had brought up this Velvet Street. "But you mentioned a duo..." A duo would be an ongoing arrangement. Something that would see schedules made and kept or altered as needed. He scratched his chin slightly, eyes narrowing it as he considered it. Crossing one leg over the other, he wondered whether he should. It was low, a real low blow to do. But then he thought of Cassandra, and any guilt forming seemed to be brushed away. His lips pursed before he spoke up. "You know, getting inside information on what the Dragonblades are up to would be handy as a guildmaster, myself." After all, if they could poach his employees, then it was only fair that he could poach their jobs if he got word of them, right? Besides, with how adored Caius was and how busy the Dragonblades surely were, maybe they'd even appreciate having a load taken off. He knew that was bunk, but it was still an amusing thought.
His eyes widened back, and he looked at Cissnei.
"So, if you can keep me, uh, informed, I'll help with your duo act." Something ongoing for something ongoing. Besides, he had an idea of Velvet Street. Sonora in itself told him plenty that would be waiting for him as it was. He paused for a moment before he added, "Did I mention I actually worked at the Masked Carnivale back in my world? Had a costume and everything." In other words, I've done this before, I'm a professional. The unspoken words. But if the Great Azuro were to return, well, for a duo the answer was obvious. "I should be able to fashion a crystal for you that'd let you learn Blue Magic. It'd take some time, but I can do it." Honestly, he wouldn't say it, but they were the easiest crystals to make. Soul Crystals required the pouring of experience into said crystal, so that it could bestow its knowledge upon the wielder. A Blue Mage was a blank slate. You gave them the empty crystal and told them to go have fun.
The Whalaqee made sure to give him that shifting sword-axe before sending him off, at least.
Leaning back, he pulled back his words, slightly. The offer was out there, naturally."Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself." Far too ahead. "Asking for information on a one time affair might be one thing. Looking after an established hero's business is probably another. If you're not comfortable with that, we can figure something else out." Yeah, that was how he would word it. Babysitting didn't come across nearly as badly as corporate espionage did. But she was an info broker, it was her job, right? Well, no, not really, he reminded himself. Gathering information didn't automatically make one a competent spy. At least it wasn't a request for assassination or theft. Well, not assassination, he wasn't really sure how theft worked into the whole spying thing.
