Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.

Torensten was quite the lovely place. From stories of it being destroyed by powerful forces, and being rebuilt even mightier than before. From sky pirates pillaging the aerodome and commandeering an airship from one of the more affluent individuals, to a storm that ravaged the city for days on end. And after the city rebuilt itself once more, it was alight with dancing, singing, and all other festivities to celebrate the seemingly peaceful times yet again.
It was just a place she couldn't escape. Despite her picture being on some wanted posters throughout, albeit most had been washed away in the deluge, Fran found herself back in Torensten. It wasn't as if she were afraid to come back, for dear of being arrested. That was a situation she had dealt with a number of times. To say her curiosity was not piqued would be a lie. And while she typically did not converse in meaningless chit chat, she did enjoy learning about other cultures. She had grown quite knowledgeable about her home world, and so she might as well try to tackle this one.
Typically, Fran would be turning heads, what with her tall stature and long ears that easily poke through a crowd. Her traditional Viera attire was seen as obscene nearly everywhere she went. She had grown used to being eyed like a piece of meat. Yet tonight, she had at least aimed to bring as little attention to herself as possible. Still weary from her ventures in the underwater labyrinth, and being tossed from a ship, she wanted to make her interactions worthwhile. Her outfit could still be classified as revealing, but it was an acceptable amount of skin, unlike her lingerie-like armor she tended to sport. She figured this outfit would help her blend... A bit more.
It was hard to know what the Viera was thinking, as she stood against a pillar, nursing a glass of red wine as she watched a performance on stage. Free wine, too. And it wasn't a terribly bad quality, either. The only downside to this free money was that she had to participate in a "blind date" event. She peered down at her red-colored tag to make sure it was visible. The Viera sighed through her nose. The concept didn't sound terrible, but if someone wanted to take this "date" seriously, they'd have an incredibly difficult time getting the stoic Viera to open up.
But that wasn't her problem. Free coin, drinks, and merriment to be had. She figured she'd at least see what type of person she'd be matched with. If they were terribly repulsive, she could always flee.
Fran took another sip, panning her carmine gaze across the crowd, wondering just who she'd meet tonight.
[attr="class","crashBody"] Cissnei loved these events. It was full of new people to meet and new people meant updated intel. A single encounter could reveal so much from idle chatter. In fact, the mere presence of a person was enough to reunite people in her line of work. She felt herself brimming with anticipation at the gathered people. Her red card was tucked behind her ear and pinned in place with a hair fascinator. It was a perfect mix of delicacy and her partner could find her at first glance. [break][break] But first, the Viera wouldn’t find the lady Turk in the crowd. [break][break] It seemed someone from Sonora had slipped her name to the entertainers here and she would be next on stage. She slid her hands down her curves to smooth out the non-existent wrinkles in her tight red dress. She smiled softly as two well-dressed band members helped her to the stage. Delicately, she strode to the standing microphone, decorated in rhinestones and deep red ribbons. [break][break] She nodded to the band and first the strings filled the air. Slow, flirtatious. Then, the drum beat and something electric. It reminded Cissnei of the beautiful city of Midgar that she missed so dearly. [break][break] Then, Cissnei closed her eyes and parted her lips. A silky voice emerged, soft and reminiscent: [break][break] “Once upon a dream, I was dying for you[break] Tasting only sweet, drinking memories of you[break] Your hand touches my cheek as you whisper softly” [break][break] Her gloved hands slid up to touch her cheek. Her head fell to the side, as if to enjoy the touch. Her eyes opened half-lidded: half-dreamy and half looking into the crowd for her date. The other woman was not hard to spot, as she did not fully fit into the crowd here. She was tall, beautiful, and sipping wine. All the while holding the keeper of their fate - the red card. [break][break] “Don't forget to breathe[break] Our love will be redeemed” [break][break] Her hand left her cheek and she reached pass the microphone, as if the small gesture would beckon Fran to her. [break][break] "And when you take my hand[break] You'll know exactly where I am” [break][break] She looked down to pick up a wine glass left on the small, gold table next to her. She held it up to the sky. The glass itself sparkled in the atmospheric lighting. [break][break] “A toast to starry nights, seeking comfort divine[break] Celebrating life, swimming circles in light[break] And I look to the sea and hear you calling softly” [break][break] She could hear parts of the crowd sing the chorus with her. She could see slow dancing with partners in the crowd for those with enough courage. She swirled her glass, giving a wink at the Lady Fran. Her voice was breathy and delicate. [break][break] “Don't forget to breathe[break] Our love will be redeemed[break] And when you take my hand[break] You'll know exactly where I am” [break][break] She put the glass down, and pressed her hands to her chest. She could feel her heart rushing beneath her fingers. Her voice became low and more serious, as if taking in the information. She closed her eyes. [break][break] “I hear you calling to me[break] See you but you can't see me[break] So dark and lonely your eyes[break] You'll always be in my heart[break] There is no death to us part” [break][break] Her eyes locked with Fran’s and she smiled at her. She finished the chorus, holding out her hand and beckoning to her. If her serenade had not gotten her attention, she was unsure what would. [break][break] She pressed her hands to her thighs, and bowed forward to the clapping. Then, she simply turned and walked off stage. Gentleman helped her down. There was a tray of snacks offered to performers. She ignored it and continued on her path. Her date was more important. [break][break] After spotting her from the stage, the woman was was not difficult to find. Cissnei smiled, “Ah. There you are.” She bowed, taking the Viera’s hand to plant a kiss on the back of it, before gently releasing it. “I’m Cissnei. And to whom do I owe the pleasure of making an acquaintance.” She said straightening and offering her arm. “Did you have anything you wanted to do first tonight? There's plenty the night offers.”
The music of the performance had all been background noise for Fran, paying half a mind to it as she watched everyone amidst the crowd, her eyes keen to find the one she was paired with tonight. Slowly, many of the crowd goers were beginning to turn to her, and watch her as she watched them. At first, it was rather annoying. Her brow quirked and she shifted her weight from one hip to the other. She understood she would turn heads where she went, due to her sheet height and stature, as well as many people never having seen a Viera before but, this was just too much.
Until she finally let her gaze sweep the stage, and she saw the red card behind the singer's ear. And what was more, she was singing at her, motioning as if to lure her in. Fran watched with interest, yet did not move. The music was loud, and there was a screech to it that hurt her ears. The woman's voice, however, was not terrible. Fran watched her with interest, as the song came to an end and the red-head made her way over.
The kiss upon the back of her hand made her brow quirk again. Many men had tried such a tactic to woo Fran, and yet they all didn't work. Yet this woman seemed to have a bit more class than those piggish men. Fran was almost impressed. She nodded her head, and then motioned toward the stage. "Good performance, that," she said. "Fran."
The tall Viera polished off the last of her glass of wine, setting it smoothly on the bar behind her before turning her full attention to Cissnei. "It seems entertainment has been crossed off for the night," she spoke, a hand settled itself on her hips, "More drinking is always an option. Especially if it is free." She almost motioned for another glass, but instead studied the red-head in front of her. "What are you able to do in that dress?" As pretty as it was, it seemed very tight and form-fitting. A reason Fran stayed away from that manner of dress. She needed to be able to run at any moment's notice.

[attr="class","crashBody"] “Thank you, Fran. It warms my heart that you enjoyed it.” She said politely, straightening and gently letting go of the viera’s hand. She pressed a hand to her heart and closed her eyes. She bowed just slightly to accept the compliment. She smiled again and looked up at the Viera. But not out of curiosity. There was a sense of familiarity. Cissnei had seen her before. On a poster, she believed. Ah. Yes. On a wanted sign for stealing an airship with an infamous Balthier. It was in an old paper, she was sure. [break][break] Cissnei smiled at Fran’s wit. This should prove an interesting night. “Of course. There is plenty of drinking to be had. May I show you some finer wines?” Cissnei offered her arm to Fran. “As for my dress, I start conversations with it of course.” After all, it was fetching enough for Fran to mention it. “It catches the eyes for those I need to see me.” A performer must keep a stage presence after all. And, as a socialite, she needed to look her best. “It’s tight enough to hide small objects, without raising suspicion.” It gave others a false sense of security for looking so disarming. Plus her hairpin and the strings on her sides could be used as improvised weapons. The dress did much for her. “And I look quite feminine in it, so I wear it to feel as such.” She did not need an excuse to feel very much like a woman whenever she pleased. [break][break] “I heard Vinum Street is the place to drink. There’s a fine winery called Pearl and Crystal. I believe they have opened for tastings tonight.” She turned to begin in that direction. “If something catches your eyes, feel free to stop me. There are also markets with exotic items. Though a drink makes those far more interesting to look at.”
