Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Whenever it rained now, Rosa couldn't help but feel a bit anxious. She wanted to believe was was relaxed in most situations, but now the rain brought with it some bad feelings. Her little family of orphans had been understanding of the safety of staying home during the deluge, but it was over, and this was just a little bit of a sprinkle. They begged her to go out, but Rosa insisted they stay inside, just in case. However, she was not able to follow her own advice.
She had grown quite used to having a bit of help around the place. Angeal... That silly man. Fresh memories of him helping to fix up the broken pieces of wood, heaving heavy furniture in and out, helping to replace what was lost or broken... Their meals together by the hearth. Stories told to the little ones as she stroked their hair and lulled them to sleep, Angeal lifting them gently and bringing them to bed. He had been so kind. And yet he felt he didn't deserve that kindness. Rosa had to remind him time and again...
Yet at this moment, he was not there to help. When the storm subsided, Angeal had to go on his separate way. Rosa understood, but with a heavy heart, bid him farewell... Things had been so much quieter.
The soft pitter patter of the rain droplets splashed along the streets as she held her basket in the crook of her elbow. The markets were starting to thrive again; crops and greens were able to sprout forth from the soggy soil, yet there would have to be rations. It was going to be tough to feed all of those hungry little mouths, but she'd do what she had to do.
She had thought all was well. After waiting patiently in line, she was given a small portion of fruits, vegetables, dried meat and some bread. Her basket wasn't full, but it had plenty of supplies to last at least a few days. Pleased, she smiled softly to the vendor and began on her way, lifting a good over her head to protect her hair from the slight drizzle. Everything was peaceful and quiet, until the form of a large, burly man jumped in her way. When she stumbled to a stop, she realized two more men were behind her.
The man in front of her cracked his knuckles and smirked down at her. "Well, well, well. What did lovely gifts did you get for us today?" He then lunged his arm at her, aiming for the basket that she had instinctively clung to. Rosa yelped as her body was forcefully yanked, yet she did her best to keep hold of her goods. "Let go!" she yelled, realizing just too late that she had forgotten any sort of item for self defense...
Quistis was out getting supplies for her newly founded Pathfinder Society organization. For her work at the Shrine, and the samples she brought back to study, the University agreed there was a strong need to do more exploration on Zephon. With the chaos at two shrines, it was certainly important to parse myth from fact in order to react to these situations. And so, here she was looking for parchment, pens, and journals. Then there was a matter of putting up flyers to let people know she was looking for help.
[break][break] How odd it was to be at the other end of the help sign.
[break][break] But just as she was about to pin another sign in a more barren back market, she heard a shout.
[break][break] “Let go!”
[break][break] Quistis did not hesitate. She grit her teeth and ran toward the sound. It seemed she caught three people in the act of trying to steal a basket from the woman in this gross weather drizzle. “You best let her go.” Quistis said icily. Her whip was pulled from her hip and she snapped it out to her side. The sound of leather biting stone seemed to draw some of their attention.
[break][break] “Or what lady?” It was clear they did not see Quistis’s lithe frame as a threat either.
[break][break] “Or I make you eat your words.” And without hesitation, her whip picked up. She lashed an ankle of one and yanked hard with all her strength. The man found the back of his head cracking against the cobblestone. Another tug brought her whip back to her side and she glared hard at the other two. When neither moved, she swirled and cracked her whip, the sharp sounds seemingly waking them up from being flabbergasted. “Who’s ready for lesson two?”
[break][break] Another man charged at Quistis, while the other continued hurriedly tried to snatch Rosa’s basket from her hands. Quistis deftly dodged left of the man, her boot coming to the back of his knee. He collapsed forward, grunting as his knees directly smashed into the pavement, followed by his weight. But he didn’t fall forward. Instead, he found leather on his throat as Quistis pulled him back into her. She replaced the leather with her arm against his jugular. He scratched at her arm, but eventually weakened and began snoring.
[break][break] The third man, still trying to grab the goods and book it, seemed to debate on what to do next. He let go of the basket and ran for Quistis’s back. Quistis found herself in a bear hug, in which she bucked up her hips and dropped her head, while grabbing his arms in front of her. The man suddenly found himself somersaulting over the mercenary. His back hit the pavement and he grunted. Before he could recover, all he could see was Quistis standing over him and whispering her enchantments over him.
[break][break] Then, he fall asleep.
[break][break] Quistis replaced her whip at her hip. She made a gesture of her hands sliding together as if she was happy to have that out of her hands. “Are you okay?” She turned to smile at Rosa, hands now on her hips. “Let’s get out of here before they wake up.”
A woman's voice caught Rosa's attention and she glanced up from her hands at her basket. The distraction was enough for the brutes to let go of her basket, if for but a moment. Without hesitation, Rosa took the opportunity to try and run behind the woman whom had appeared to be defending Rosa.
Quistis had easily taken one of the men down, yet the others did not want to relinquish the basket so easily. Rosa flinched as another dove toward her, but the loud crack of the whip made her eyes shoot wide open. In just a matter of moments, they had all been beaten up by the stranger's whip. Rosa exhaled in relief and clutched the basket close to her. When Quistis suggested they get out of here, Rosa nodded. "Yes, let's go!"
The blonde followed the other as they ran through the slippery streets, down main streets and smaller side streets, zig-zagging to lose anyone that might be on their tails. However, when they reached a certain street, Rosa piped up, "This way, let's go this way! We're almost to my home."
[attr=class, text] Quistis took Rosa’s sigh of relief to mean she was okay. That gave her much relief. The adrenaline in her was still high and she could feel her blood still pumping. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. The simple exercise should let her body know all was well. She holstered her whip at her side again. There was no time for formal introductions. Rosa was quick to turn heel and run off with her basket. And she did so with a sense of direction. It seemed the woman had a place in mind. Quisits took it as an invitation to follow after her, since it wasn’t clear she was meant to or not. [break][break] The other woman was quick on her feet, though Quistis was just as much so. She felt her boots slide on wet patches of the street. Her other leg locked out to catch her. She pressed a hand to the wall to keep from falling, but kept the pace of her leader. Luckily, they ran into no further trouble. It seemed this was a solo group that meant to find an easy target, and not a complete operation of people. [break][break] Luckily, the target had not been so easy. Perhaps they’d learn their lesson and turn away from mugging people. [break][break] As they finally made their way to the streets, Quistis stopped to catch her breath. “You certainly have spirit.” She huffed gently, before smiling and straightening. “This way it is.” Though Quistis couldn’t help but eye the street they were on. “I think we lost them. They were unconscious after all.” She shook her head, stepping quickly. “Why do you need to return home so quickly?” The drizzling seemed to stop now. Though it left the street in a gross muggy state.
