Sonora was a place that Eillien had not been expecting to have to be returning to so quickly after returning to meet with Faris and agreeing to join her crew. There were quite a few things that she had left back up in Sonora. So she had to return to her place and gather them up before she would full time relocate to the port town and its busy streets. Thankfully she had the powerful legs and she could just about fly through the air with her jumps.
Instead of the several weeks that it took her the last time when she traveled from Sonora to Torenstein she made the return trip in but a few days. After these few days she found herself walking back into town. As she walked along her spear lightly hitting the pavement she made her way to her apartment. Gathering up what few pieces that she cared about. Slipping everything into her bag beside the single never blinking dragon eye that she could not help but look down into as she held it in her left hand.
Her eyes staring down into the eye as she could not help but feel the power that she knew it held within. Deep down inside of it she knew it was hiding its strength from her. Forcing herself to blink she sighed as she let go of the breath that she had not realized that she had been holding. Placing it inside of the pouch on her hip once more she exited her apartment and locked up the door. As there was nothing left within besides the basics she turned in the keys to her now former landlord in the office before leaving the building and beginning to walk outside.
Pulling up the cloak that she had as she felt the chill of the mountain air blow and swirl about her she walked along and toward one of the many open squares of the town. Stopping there she began to contemplate if she was to stop somewhere and eat before hitting the road once more or not.

He'd just happened to notice it at random as she returned. A particularly spiteful shade of red that just oozed hatred for all living things in the world, more that of a rabid beast filled with venom.. That was Nidhogg's aether. It was unmistakable. Very few beings in his life had ever harbored the sheer amount of rancor that Nidhogg did. It tainted him, twisted him, until his soul was a dark red cloud of pure hatred and fury. Of course, he knew it was the eyes, or at least an eye. Nidhogg himself would... well, Midgardsormr's son would have announced himself in a more dramatic fashion.
Then of course, there was the how. Nidhogg's eyes were accounted for and destroyed by Estinien. This was confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt. They'd been used as catalysts for the primal Shinryu, and exhausted of their aether, were destroyed. So how did such a relic appear in this world? It left one answer; time. And that told him the world; time was of no import to whatever puppetmaster pulled the strings of who came and who left. Any point in time for a world was fair game to pass into this world, and that was telling.
And once again, he felt that anguish burn in his breast, that he tried so hard to bury. The fact that she was here did nothing but help to rekindle his dream of eld.
From any point in time...
Of course, this warranted up close and personal examination. Meaning, that, Eillien was going to have company in very short order. The owner of the eye naturally warranted interest. He imagined it was simply Estinien or one of Alexander's companions. They'd been cropping up recently, stood to reason another would appear sooner or later. And so, he waited for that fleeting moment of a glance, and when he saw her... nothing. He recognized nothing about her. Very obviously a Dragoon, but where in the world did she get the eye? There were gaps, holes he wanted to fill with understanding, everything was beginning to hinge on it. Everything.
So that was why Eillien found herself next to a rather tall man. Not towering, no, he knew to shrink ever so much. But the rest, well, he couldn't be around her as Solus zos Galvus. Even if she wasn't a historian, the third eye would give him away. She was from the Source, Nidhogg's eye made it that obvious. No, Hades kept his natural appearance, finding that in some cases, it made a better disguise than the actual disguise. A return to the old, wearing naught but simple black robes, though he kept the mask off. That might be a red flag.
"Are you looking for something?" It was a soft, gentle voice. Long white hair flowed through the openings in his hood. Amber eyes gave her a curious look, making sure not to drift to the bag that held the eye. Oh, but he could feel it, and even staring at the woman he could see brief traces of that clouded rancor.

As she sat there she could not help but feel things just settled with a full set of unease. This unease permiated every single sense. Just as it tended to do while she carried this accursed eye. Yet this time the unease did not come from the eye instead it just seemed to fill everything around her. This all however stopped in the very moment that snapped her back to reality.
There was a man suddenly next to her. His features simple and plain compared to many of those that she usually spent time around. Yet despite the appearance of the man's face she could not help but feel that unease as she took in his blackened robes. To her it felt alot like the look of Lahabrea whom she had just dispatched but a few months before her arrival upon this new world. Yet that felt as if it was decades ago to her. Closing her eyes but for a moment she heard him speak up asking her something simple.
Was she truly looking for something in the current moment? Or was she just kind of going along with the flow of everything? Those were two things that bothered her to her very core. Opening her green eyes she looked over at Emet-Selch and drug up the smile upon her face. "Honestly I do not know what it is that I seek anymore. Since coming here I have but traveled and protected people as I would of had to for my home. Yet there are many burdens that someone like myself carry that we do not speak outward toward anyone."
Letting her words go out and linger in the air between them as her own doubts were rather easily seen. She was something of a rudderless ship in the midst of a new ocean and she has had nothing but her own guidance and steering to assist her in this. Yet despite this ruderless appearance there was a fierce demeanor beneath the words. It took but a few seconds as she moved to stand up without slouching any cause of the pack on her back as she set that down upon the ground. "Where are my manners. Just unloading upon a stranger to whom I just met. Eillien Blaires, Azure Dragoon of the Holy See of Ishgard at your service."
As she introduced herself she extended her hand to Emet-Selch in greeting. Her title and name both spoken with pride and yet he would know so much more then she in the fate of her homeland.
Ah, Lahabrea. If only one knew how much time had passed since that day on the Source. Hades could only quirk an eyebrow as he took in her features. Red hair, green eyes. Something... no, this wasn't right. He had no memory of this woman. There were no records, Elidibus had given him no knowledge. Everything about this seemed wrong. To have the Eye, had she perhaps been one of Alexander's earlier companions? No, that couldn't be it. Things didn't make sense. She put on a cheery enough facade. But the anxiety rolled off her. He put her into an uneasy state. Was there something about him that was making her uncomfortable?
He listened to her tale, and simply allowed her to unload. One could learn much by simply letting another say what they pleased. The Azure Dragoon of Ishgard. Well, that provided a possible connection as to the how, but that still didn't make sense. Estinien was the former Azure Dragoon, and the other, well... he didn't recall it being the woman in front of him. But, he accepted the hand all the same and gave it a decent enough shake. Honestly, he wasn't all that physically imposing. But, a name to give, yes. "Solus. Unfortunately I have no such elaborate titles here." Here, of course, being the keyword. He may have once been the Honorable Emet-Selch, Architect and Angel of Truth, but those titles did not quite carry over here.
Here, he was just Hades, or Solus. Strange, that.
Of course, the first name of the Garlean Emperor may have been an issue, but it was the name he had given to Cissnei, and he was leaning on the lack of a third eye to deflect suspicion. "And from my perspective, you definitely sound lost. Perhaps you should set a goal for yourself. A long term ambition to push towards. Something for your own gain, for you speak with pride of your homeland, but you don't look to be in a hurry to return, so something else must drive you, surely." But her burdens, yes. Why did she retain such a burden like the Eye of... Oh there was no need to ask that, the answer was obvious enough. It was a trait he had pegged in Alexander as well. Adventurers were by nature a proactive and often ambitious lot, even if at times they seemed aimless, there was usually some vague motive at work.
The reason to hold onto an artifact like the Eye of Nidhogg was obvious.

Her hand was shaken and an introduction was given back to her. No fancy titles and nothing else to the man besides the name of Solus. A name that was completely lost to Eillien as when she had left Eorzea and the Source she had never encountered anyone with that name. So she knew nothing of him and what he had done on the First and how he had been the Founder of the Garlean Empire. With a warm smile upon her face she could not help but give him the smile that showed she was finally at ease. "A pleasure to meet you Solus. Quite the unique name if I must say so."
As she finished speaking she pulled her hand back and let it hang off to her side and rest just beside the Eye on her hip. Standing there she listened to him speak and take her apology in stride. It was welcome that she had not been taken to task by apologizing as such. Usually her tone and mood was different but that was usually after a few drinks in an inn or tavern. So for now she listened and awaited a moment to respond to Solus inside of. When he finished talking she could not help but give a nod of her head to acknowledge that she was in no real hurry to return home.
"To be honest I do not how it is that I came to these lands, but I have found these people no less deserving of my protection. As I had done some months back when a horde of dragons appeared in the sky and I did what comes natural to a dragoon of Ishgard. Defend people from dragon attacks." As she spoke she shifted her weight a little the pommel of the spear tapped the ground lightly. Raising a gauntleted hand to her chin she took a moment to collect her thoughts before continuing.
"As for returning home... Hydalen knows why I came here. She would be the only one to know how I could return to Ishgard and help against the Hordes of Nidhogg as many have before me in my position." Her words calm and with purpose as she knew not to really sugarcoat anything. Some considered it a fatal flaw of the Azure Dragoon. Yet for her it was a strength as people did not have to wonder where they stood with her. She would tell them to their face if they were bothering her.
A unique name. Well, he'd give her that, as the corner of his lips curled upward ever so slightly. "Thank you. You're not the first to think so." And he was once again content to be the listener, the one who simply allowed those to express themselves. Within their words, no matter how carefully guarded, was always a little piece of themselves. Innocent words said aloud that, to most people, would simply speak a little of her world, of her faith. Visitors to and from different worlds seemed to be a common thing, so it wasn't like it would seem all that unusual for them. However, for a member of her world--no, the Unsundered Star, from which all of those worlds came, he found her story... well he found it unusual.
Everything lined up with events that he knew, except the actors had changed. Then again, with that little stunt of the Exarch's... perhaps she came from...? Would whatever puppetmaster of this world have that ability? But he now had a point in time at least, well, he felt so anyway. Nidhogg was ramping up his attacks in her world. He'd always been active, but he was getting more serious, pressing further in. Still, he looked to the sky above. Had a horde of dragons appeared? An eyebrow quirked. "I wonder if anything had drawn them here. They are drawn to power." He wistfully commented. Just that tiny little suggestion, just that tiny little thought. The Eye, that ever present item with all its hatred and rancor.
But it explained her demeanor as well. To be bitter and hateful would expose her to Nidhogg's grasp. Always within the eyes, always nearby. Yes, just one slip and this world would know Nidhogg's Fury. He changed the subject though, "I wouldn't put much stock in your god here. None seem to have any influence in this world. If returning home is your wish, I would begin with understanding this world." Hades shrugged. He would not allow himself to dwell on the primal that sundered his world, but this world itself. There wasn't even a lifestream. This world was fragile, feeble, and frail, moreso than any of the Shards. Unsundered it may have been, but the aether was faint, save for several overflowing pockets. In truth, that Eye probably had more Aether than any object for a good distance. Well, barring himself, of course.

It was only a short time as she started to think about what Emet-Selch had said. Could something that she had brought with her draw in the anger of any wyvern or dragon that was within the mountain ranges around the city. It was but a slight move of her eye as she figured out what it could of. The very Eye that she had been told to hold onto and keep safe from any and everyone. This was what she was truly going to do and yet now thanks to him she was starting to doubt if she had really done the smartest thing in bringing it alongside her. Instead she was thinking that she might’ve had to just toss it down the deepest crevasse back in the mountains that she had emerged from.
“Who knows if something had drawn them in or not. If anything had done that it could have been the Eye. Which is one of the reasons that I am tossing it onto my person and keeping me as far away from towns in the upcoming future.” She had to speak and refute and yet confirm something that he had speculated. She had heard that each and ever Azure Dragoon had a long life of fighting dragons and wyverns. It was now starting to make sense. Maybe it was truly the eye that drew each Azure Dragoon to their deaths eventually wearing them down to nothing due to constant fighting.
Hearing him talk about not relying upon her god here was a little in sense. As she had a feeling that Hydalen while strong did not reach quite so far into this world. As it seemed that so many people had lost a lot of their own faith in everything that they may have had in the past. Taking a short time to collect her mind as she was thinking about what he was saying. “It does seem that none of the gods that people believe in are here or are able to assist their followers here. I have heard people speak on praying to the crystals like the beastmen, believing in a world spanning stream of life, or even the planet itself being their god. It is all but a little odd to me as I still try and keep what little faith, I have in Hydalen. It at least seems to keep… my mind settled.”
Finishing up speaking she could not help but sigh a little. As despite all of her bravado she was not going to allow whatever had taken over Estinen take her over. No matter what she was going to be keeping her mind as calm as possible.
"There is no lifestream here." Hades said solemnly. No, he would have seen it by now if there was. This planet was dry, feeble. That was an issue. That was no small detail to simply be glossed over. A lifestream was vital, it gave the star strength, supported it when people used its energies. A star with no lifestream was uniquely fragile, uniquely vulnerable. In this state, if this world were the Source, he would not need to trigger a rejoining to cause a calamity, he could just do it by his lonesome. That was a problem. He let out a sigh as Eillien continued to talk. In all honesty, he was just dropping the facade out of pity at this point. Not even Alexander had been this... He looked Eillien over once more. She was identical to him. Well, the soul was. Hers may have been a little dimmer, but it was the same soul, no doubt.
Was she a reflection then?
He turned to face Eillien. It was in her good fortune that Hades had no desire to wreak havoc and mayhem on this world. "And you really shouldn't tell strangers you have Nidhogg's Eye on your person. That trusting attitude will come back to bite you, someday." Honest advice; why would she tell him? Why would she tell anyone? While it was always nice to let things out to someone you'd never meet again, some things just placed a target on your back. "An artifact filled with aether? Many would kill to get their hands on that, fueled even further by Nidhogg's rancor." Things however, were falling into place. She was Alexander, or rather, a different version of him. A world where he'd never existed, but she existed in his stead.
Fascinating.
He pointed to her bag. "The Eye has been calling out to anyone that will listen. In truth, it would be best to either destroy it, or toss it where it cannot be claimed." Not that it mattered when it came to the Warriors of Darkness Elidibus had recruited, but, well, they were already dead. The extreme hostility of such an environment did little for any of them, but that was beyond the point. "Instead you take the 'selfless' route that so many others with powerful artifacts before you have taken, because the simple truth is you have no desire to be rid of it." Hades shrugged.
He understood, truly. There were a myriad of reasons to keep the Eye, especially for Eillien. "It's undeniable proof of who you are, which you take obvious pride in, it's one of your last connections to your world." What was she without the Azure Dragoon? She'd placed so much emphasis on that role before even a Warrior of Light, that to lose one of her strongest connections would undoubtedly affect her mental health, but of course, there were other, more practical reasons. "But aside from that, it's an undeniable Ace in the Hole. If you are pushed, simply bring out the Eye, bask in Nidhogg's Fury, and show the world your Dragonsong." It was a trump card to even the odds against most foes.
Crossing his arms, he simply gave Eillien a look. "And before you rebuff me, I will say this; I can easily extract the aether and disperse it, allowing you to pierce the empty vessel and destroy it. If you truly wish Nidhogg's threat gone, then it can be gone in just a few moments." Of course, he was almost certainly outed now. Not that it mattered. There wasn't really much he could think to do with Nidhogg's eye that proved beneficial. With no plots, there was no need to scheme. No point in rejoining a world that was never sundered to begin with, and if she was openly suspicious of him, then so be it.

"To be honest that does not surprise me. With how long I have been on this plane and naught once have I felt the tickle of its presence." She responded as with how astute the Warrior of Lights were back on their home world and in use of the Aetheryte Crystals in their travels. Yet despite this understanding it was the next set of words that came from his lips that finally made her on edge. As she had only ever called it the Eye and not made any other mention of it. It could of been a piece of jewelry with the name, a ring, but no this man had named it perfectly without any effort. So he had to know so much more then he was letting on.
Her gauntleted hand tightened ever so slightly as she turned her full attention toward Emet-Selch instead of just her passing fancy as she had been. "To be honest for you to know of its existence means you have to be from my Eorzea or at least one of the Shards... Yet I do not know you sir. Yet there are so many different places I have not been. Still since you know of the eye then you know that even should I get rid of it. Someone would eventually find it and use its malevolence to try and do whatever evil they could."
"Yet I have also felt its Aether waning bit by bit. When I first arrived here it was still swirling with the energy of its grasping into Estinen and turning him against me and the other Dragoons of Ishgard. So... I doubt I will as you say it 'bask in my Dragonsong'. I will die to protect this artifact from any who would use it to harm this world or to try and take it back to Eorzea." She spoke plainly and with a conviction that she felt deep down into her own center of self. Eillien was a stubborn as a mule dragoon that was certain. Though his last bit of speech caught her fully off guard. To draw out somethings Aether to render it inert was not known but by a select few. A few that she had just had the displeasure seeing murder a fellow Scion just before she was brought here.
Narrowing eyes looked directly at Emet-Selch as she felt herself not recoil from him but instead feel herself slip slowly toward a fighting stance. With venom covering her words she spoke up. "Ascian... Of course you would be on this plane as well. IT is too good to not have one of your ilk here... What is next. Is Lahabrea going to emerge from his blasted spell and gloat over yet another attempt to destroy the Scions? Or is Nabriales going to reappear from the death she so strongly deserved after smiting down one of my allies?"
Her left hand had raised as she spoke and was now on the shaft of the spear that hung over her back as she was ready should Emet-Selch push forward and attempt to strike at her.
Ah, there it was; the mistrust that he knew would be arriving in short order. Well, on the flip side, at least she was only gripping her weapon, instead of pointing it at him or, Zodiark forfend, trying to impale him on it. There was a scoff from him as she insulted him. After he had so patiently heard her out and let her talk. At least she wasn't trying to act like she was some master sleuth who'd seen through his disguise, like he'd known certain other warriors were wont to do. Still, he would interject on her calling him an Ascian. "Retired Ascian, thank you very much. I can't exactly cause a rejoining when there are no shards to rejoin, now can I?" Of course, he doubted she would believe he had no grand scheme in play, best to resort to a different path.
So, he'd just approach it as if he was out of a job. Which... well, he was. Still didn't stop him from smirking, completely unphased by her threatening demeanor. "Oh, do not look at me so. A smile better suits a hero, does it not?" Plus if she actually tried something, he'd just call the guards. No need to get messy personally when as far as the law was concerned, he was on the right side of it all. "But do as you wish with the Eye. I have no particular use for it, though it's clear you refuse to simply destroy it and be done with it." Ultimately, what she did with it was her wish. He wasn't even sure what he would do with Nidhogg's Eye. Wasn't like he could put it towards anything.
But he'd be honest, like always, and simply tell her the consequences of such a chosen path. The smirk dropped as he shrugged. "Just understand that with no Lifestream or other force to draw in his aether and recycle it, his rancor will seep into the land wherever you go and affect it accordingly." Such was the fragility and vulnerability of this star. Of course, he had no expectation that she would heed his warning. Rather, she would refute, deny, or accuse, if he had to take a bet. "And as far as I know, I'm the only Ascian here." Well, in all honesty, he'd forgotten Nabriales even existed. And Lahabrea, well, perhaps it was a mercy if he didn't show up here.
