ell, this was just all kinds of weird. What exactly was the benefit of bringing them all from these specific time points? And what consciousness was even doing this in the first place? None of it made any sense. This definitely begged looking into. They needed answers.
"I seem to remember everything, myself. Though I consider every detail to be valuable intel, so maybe that's why." Emma said. She couldn't afford to forget things, it might be important later.
"So Freyra is from a short time before Meteorfall and Cissnei from during," Emma mused aloud, "And I'm from three years after. Seems kind of random." she said. Hmm, and that meant she was the oldest here now. That was a strange feeling, given she was usually the youngest.
"I see your natural intuition hasn't lost a step, at least. Sephiroth did kill Shinra and Rufus did take over." Emma replied to Freyra, "I don't know much of the details of what happened, but I do know Sephiroth was very much alive and found some sort of materia that let him summon a huge meteor that was going to wipe out everything on the planet. Some group stopped it all, but it was all kept pretty quiet and few knew everything going on at the time. All I know was Veld contacted me to get to Midgar as soon as possible and it was in the middle of coming down when I arrived. That's where we all met and worked to evacuate the city. The city itself was left a large ruin, but they built a new city called Edge on the outskirts." she informed them. Emma figured she had better be the one to give the story of their homeworld since she was from the furthest along. However, she was very lacking in the details of what happened. Cissnei might have more than her in that regard.
"Interesting, I've been here about the same amount of time as Freyra. Couldn't tell you much though. I woke up in a desert and then walked west because, based on the signs around me, that was likely the path to civilization. There were a few small towns along the way that pointed me further west and eventually I ended up here in Torensten. You two are the first people of notable relevance that I've spoken to since arriving." she explained.
Cissnei smiled as Emma mused out loud. “Ah ha. I guess that makes you the ex-Turk with the most experience now.” Cissnei had been relatively the same age as the others, but she began her training way before she was even ten.
Cissnei sat up straighter with slightly widened eyes, a little surprised at Freyra’s outburst about Sephiroth. And her next comment on Rufus. Oh dear. Seemed she really was pulled right after Zirconiade. She quietly listened to Emma explain about Sephiroth and Rufus. She gave a soft sigh. “Well, it is unclear if Sephiroth did directly killed the President…or Jenova or a Sephiroth clone disguised as Sephiroth did, since Jenova escaped confinements the same day. Jenova has the ability to shange her appearance as she sees fit.” She only knew because she spoke with Tseng after being one of three Turks to go save him from the Temple of the Ancients. “Both Sephiroth and President Shinra slipped into madness of varying degrees.” It was obvious Shinra Corporation was being ran into the ground over this pursuit of the Promised Land, ever since the careless plate drop. Nothing else mattered because they were so sure it existed.
“President Shinra was starting to destroy his own city to squash bugs that the Turks could easily root out.” In typical executive fashion, the Turks’ value was overlooked. “And with no plans to rebuild due to the plans to build an even better Midgar in the Promised Land.” Cissnei sighed and shook her head, “I only learned of these details when I saved Tseng. He found and questioned Sephiroth.” If there was anyone Sephiroth trusted that lied outside of SOLDIER ranking, it would have been Tseng. “Sephiroth responded by impaling him and leaving him to die.” Her hands crumpled the fabric on the skirt of her dress. Her jaw set and she tried to control her emotions. It was much harder for her when a Turk was involved. They were the only people she truly cared for. And Tseng was like a big brother to her. “Luckily, we were able to get to him in time, but it seemed Reeve knew of the secret we were alive. He was the one that phoned in the help.” She shook her head.
“The Vice President was promoted. He may be a ‘shitlord’…” She shook her head and tried out this newly found insult on her tongue. “But both he and Tseng are the reasons we are still alive. I am grateful that he turned his ways around and saved the Turks from the executives.” He may have put them in a tight spot, but he got them out. Even if she was bitter about being cut, she was truly glad the others survived. “I wonder how much he changed over the years.” She hummed softly. Surely, he had to have grown up and quit his childish antics? Maybe not, “And if you had been there, the parade he threw himself was all over the news.” And what was this new Edge place? Cissnei supposed she would never see it now. She gave Freyra a pat on the back, when she sighed and complained about her brain hurting. “Well, I suppose how much memory or when we were pulled doesn’t currently matter. We need to focus on regaining our intelligence. Then, maybe in time, the answers we seek will become clear.” A Turk needed to stay up to date on the world around them.
Cissnei lit up at the word Sonora. “It is odd how its more advanced. They must keep their technological secrets close to their chest.” Perhaps it made them feel more secure compared to the rest of the world. “I told Emma this earlier, but I opened an investigation’s agency there.” She tore one of the papers in half and wrote down her address on both. She slid both the papers to Emma and Freyra. “In case, you both still want to come visit.” She smiled at Emma, “I am of notable relevance, after all.” Cissnei used Emma’s own words.
“And further…what do we want to do if the executives are pulled here too?” Her voice was serious. She had an idea on what she wanted to do. But she wanted to know the thoughts of the others.
So, Cissnei's been in this world longer than her and Emma, but Emma came in from the farthest point in their world's timeline. Very interesting, to say the least. Freyra, on the other hand, seems to have drawn the short straw in both accounts, having been here for a slightly shorter time than Emma, but also coming in from a much sooner point in time than the others, leaving her with less information to work with. And even a hot-headed thrill-seeker like Freyra knew that information was extremely important in her line of work, whether or not she was actually in the middle of any sort of job. It was just something that was drilled into her during her training, and it stuck with her. So being stuck in a situation where she knew so little was annoying.
As she listened to Cissnei and Emma talk about everything that happened between the apparent reactor bombing and this so-called "Meteorfall", she could only stare at them in disbelief. It all sounded so insane that she was almost tempted to accuse them of making it up just to mess with her. But then again, this was Cissnei and Emma. They weren't the type to joke around like that, and they had no reason to lie to her about any of this. Still, it was a lot to take in, and while she had a lot of questions, she didn't even know how to begin asking. So she just kinda pushed it into the back of her mind and accepted it for what it was; a bunch of crazy crap that hadn't happened yet, but was probably going to happen.
Assuming she ever made it back to her own world, anyway. and that, if she did, she'd even remember any of this. Whatever bullshit was pulling people here seemed pretty fickle on the whole "memory loss" thing, but one had to wonder if it'd be different going back. But she just put that on the back-burner for now. When Cissnei mentioned her agency, Freyra smiled "Shit...count me in. Not like I have anything better to do." Then came the question about what to do if any of the shinra execs showed up, to which she made just sorta blew a raspberry with her lips. "Personally, if any of the Shinra execs do show up, they can sit on a Cactaur for all I care. Shinra doesn't exist here, and my loyalty's with the Turks...also, don't care if he helped save the world or whatever...Rufus is still a shitlord."

mma's face turned grumpy.
"If you count factory work and trying not to shoot myself if I have to listen to one more piece of trivial small town gossip as experience, then sure." she replied sarcastically. She had trained in the mountains, sure, but if anything she had lost some of her refined edge in other areas. She had some rust to shake off. Next she listened as Cissnei filled in a few blanks in what Emma knew of the story and the blonde nodded along as she spoke. Freyra expressed her continuing displeasure with Rufus and Emma couldn't say she blamed her. The wound was still fresh for her, but even after all this time even Emma still bared the scars. And then there were new issues as well. Like why hadn't she been contacted for the rebuilding? Not Rufus, not Tseng - Hell, not even Veldt or Reeve with their new group. Everyone was content to let her rot. It was maddening. Emma tried to push the feelings aside though. Getting worked up over these old wounds was not pertinent to the situation. Emma took the info that was passed to her and pocketed it.
"You know I'll be there too. Besides, someone needs to keep an eye on certain trouble makers." she said with a sideways glance at Freyra, "As for the execs... Well, technically we were fired. We don't need to do anything with them. They have no authority here, no resources to work with. Most of them are dead when I'm from anyway. I agree with Freyra, I'll stand with the Turks over Shinra." she said. She fixed Cissnei with a curious glance.
"What did you have in mind for dealing with them if they did appear? You've had more time to think about it than we have." she asked.
Cissnei smiled as both agreed to join her with her investigations agency. It felt like a relief, really. She wouldn’t have to do it alone and she would have essentially comrades that she trusted to help. Sisters through and through, essentially. “Sounds like a plan. Find me in Sonora. I am sure by then, I will have plenty of work for you both.” Sitting around was a challenging task, thus the Turks always needed to keep busy.
Cissnei quietly listened over what the two of them had to say about Shinra executives. If anything, it seemed Emma and Freyra were both in agreement on something. The emotions seemed to be raw with everyone. But, when asked her opinion she seemed hesitant. Her eyes looked down at the table in thought. Cissnei had never been good at parsing her feelings. And when she let them boil over, it was ferocious. “Of course I am loyal to the Turks first.” Tseng had been resistant in starting the search for Veld, but Cissnei disobeyed direct orders of killing Veld upon sight. He had been her only father figure and she found herself helping him instead. The other Turks followed in the same sentiment. Veld had done nothing but leave Shinra to help his daughter. He knew there was a conflict of interest and did what he could to avoid conflict. How could the Turks fault him for that?
“But, I was raised in a Shinra orphanage, adopted into the Turks, and raised by the Shinra company itself.” She literally ate, slept, and breathed Shinra. It was her entire life. And losing it...well she almost lost herself in the process. “I can run an investigations agency, but I have always done what I thought was best for the greater good. Even if it meant dipping my hands into some dirty laundry.” Shinra did bad things and was run by not great people, but Cissnei worked there because the company also did a lot of good. They advanced technology and progressed medicine. They gave the citizens comfort and stability. Or so she believed at the time.
She gave a sigh and shook her head, “The executives wanted to kill us. Tseng and Rufus did what they could to prevent our deaths. Even if it meant hurting us in the process…” Cissnei was struggling in her thought process. “And Tseng trusts Rufus. Reeve also did what he could to help us assist Veld. He also helped keep Tseng alive when Sephiroth striked. These are the only two I am grateful for and would follow. I owe them my life for keeping you both and the others alive.” She frowned, still looking down. Despite the pain provided, she was truly grateful her comrades lived. “I am incapable of thinking of greater things to do other than investigations. And solving other's problems will eventually get tedious. But working for Shinra was different, wasn't it? We were always working on something greater than ourselves. Reeve and Rufus seem capable of thinking beyond a scope that I could. I would at least meet and speak with them.” She shifted uneasily. Cissnei was good at solving problems. But she was no good at thinking beyond problem solving. "I don't have to mention either of you to them. But I would like to hear them out."
