The man turned down Ardyn’s offer. A pity, really. Ardyn had been looking forward to turning his own twisted desires against him. Ardyn held up a finger and pondered his options. Would it prove more amusing to let the man free or to simply seize his cognition now? With the question posed to him once again, he hadn’t the time to ponder his decisions.
Would he take his satisfaction now or later? Ardyn had always been one to bide his time.
”I believe they took to the east. There’s a town there if I’m not mistaken, and beyond that...Oh, what do they call it? That city on the river? Oh, it’s on the tip of my tongue!” Ardyn hummed to himself, casting about his thoughts and building suspense in one blow. If he couldn’t toy with the man’s body, he could at least toy with his mind.
”Torensten.” Ardyn turned and watched him with a predatory interest. ”That was it.” Would the man follow his direction? Undoubtedly. Ardyn could have told him nearly any point on the map and he’d have marched along in stoic obedience, but there was no use in lying. If he could lead the vengeful to his mark…
Now, that would be quite the show, wouldn’t it?
”But what would you do should you find him, I wonder?” Ardyn let the words drip from his tongue. Quite the question indeed. One he already knew the answer to. ”Your master of death? Will it end the dreams?”
Ardyn allowed a moment to mull it over before he tilted his head with a smile. ”Ah, but there’s little need for such despondency! You have your place, and I, mine.” Ardyn tilted his hat in a mocking farewell. ”May you find its end in peace.”

"Toresten?" Because he was unfamiliar with these lands, Asael had to rely on the direction and the details that were given to him, which itself was a problem. It was obvious that he was being toyed with by the stranger, who was fascinated by the clone. The offer for his corrupted power was proof enough, but his actions and mannerisms only shined more light on this theory.

Ardyn brought up a valid point. The silver haired traveler had thoughts on what he would do to Sephiroth when he finally found him, even going so far as to daydream about how the scenario would play out. But when it came down to it, he wasn't entirely sure what he would actually say or do. Would Sephiroth even recognize him? Would he know that Asael belonged to the group of imperfect copies that were slain by his hands? Or would he be looked at as another nobody among a world full of useless people who were only in his way?

Although he gave no real verbal response, Asael only huffed at the question. And because he got what he came for, the stranger was prepared to part ways. Maybe he got what he wanted too Asael thought after seeing Ardyn's farewell gesture.

"Only the dead will know peace," he said confidently. He was done here and with a new lead, Asael turned towards the east to resume his hunt.
