“A general you say? That I could see. The way that you handle yourself and your armor looks like it has seen quite a bit of things.” Meliadoul spoke as she kept the smile on her face. For once it was obvious that the woman was relaxed and not on edge. Not knowing the past of Celes with the military she had been a part of was similar to her own.
“That sounds like a good idea. I mean to head back after finishing the search. It looks like most that could fight are injured at the moment.” Her response was quick and sound of mind. It seemed that her own mind had thought about that predicament as well. If the pair had left separately they could both get overwhelmed if this was but the first band of bandits.
Bringing a hand up to her chin she began to think to herself for a moment. As if she was trying to think about what it was that she was going to say before saying it. “Would you like me to take up the fist watch upon our return to town or would you like to do so? As I doubt any would be able to stand long enough to overwhelm us if we worked together and set up a way to wake one another should we need it.”
As she spoke there was a noise about thirty feet from the pair. In an instant Meliadoul’s hand went to her sword and she narrowed her eyes as it seemed she was at the ready instantly. Coming from the gravel road was a man dressed inside of regular looking leather armor. A cocky smile across his face as he approached. “Well, well. Seems that I have found the troublemakers.”
